He was more complicated in 2k. Not that hard but not you average rekka character. And that level 3 poison move…Wow…just wow.

Oh yeah, his leven 3 poison was a bitch in that game, but I still liked him more in 2k1, more fun to use.

Nameless’s standing animation looks lame, and his Flame Super looks even more lame with way less reach unlike like K9999 awesome super.

I can’t wait to try him though!

Oh, and I was wondering: does this new 2k2 also allow you to select Ura versions of characters like 98UM does? If so, how is it done, and how many different versions will be available per char?

Hmm, I wonder what graphics filters the game will support? 98UM had a simple blur filter, but I really hope they put something nicer like hqnx or 2xSai.

Really, I wish they would just feed all of their original sprite data through a good filter, and then get their artists to touch up small details like faces and eyes that tend to get distorted. I think they could get another 5 good years out of all their NeoGeo sprites if they did that. (I’m not so fond of the new kof12 art style :confused: )

Can you type in kanji/hiragana?

If I try really hard (ie. with a dictionary) I can do enough to get the point across. I was going to include an image anyway, which should be clear enough :slight_smile:


heheh… looking at some of the youtube videos from TGS…

  • I really wish (in kof12 too) that the players at TGS wouldnt play so seriously and block super attacks etc. Watching the videos it’s like, “oh! new super! blocked! nooooooo…!” :stuck_out_tongue:

  • They should really redraw Whip’s whip… its the most horribly pixelated thing in the entire series. I dont think there’s any technical reason for it not to be nice now. And surely it wouldnt be THAT much work to redraw it, since it’s just some lines…

  • Love the new art of the select screen etc. Wish 12 was in that style.

There’s been discussion of a few EX characters emphasis on FEW and boss characters. Also if there are EX characters why would it be different from selecting them in 98UM?

No one knows how many EX characters are in 2002UM nor how many per character.

I wonder if they will have SDMs versions of all the DMs now? I really miss SDMs… one of the reasons why I didnt like OG02. I also hope they add the missing DMs like Leona’s qcfx2+P. (Yes, I admit it, I’m a supermove fetishist.)

No kidding…the OTHER company’s fanbase actions are FAR more accurate to what’s-his-face’s statement than SNK’s fanbase is. At least we’re getting new content, rather than a redrawn re-retread that looks good when paused, but is indistinguishable from the original when in motion, despite all the time and effort put into it…but I won’t point fingers.

Well, think about it: say Andy has his reg 98 version, as well as his EX 98 version selectable (they need a version with his full Real Bout Special movelist, but alas…) as alts. If you have to cyle through them, holding the start button wouldn’t do. Maybe hitting the r1 trigger to cycle through them, with each version having either a different portrait, or a different color as the background of their portrait box.

Kyo was the only one that got such a treatment. And that was what? Kyo/Kusanagi/Kyo-/Kyo-2. And then there’s Robert who’s different in 98, has an EX 98UM version, his 2000, 2k1 version, and 2k2 are different. You really expect SNK to just start dumping in all these EX characters?

The idea itself is outrageous and borderline stupid. Why 50+ ex characters? In addition to the 50+ characters already in the game? And even 3-4 versions of each character at that?

I don’t want some 5 versions of Robert in one game. One maybe two is more than enough.

shrug Just saying that if they WERE gonna do that, they could implement it like that.

HOpefully this means people will start playing kof2002 on ggpo/2df to get ready for UM.

Just stated learning OG to get ready for this remake.

I hope they keep Leona as beastly on OG for real lol.

Do you know of any 02 character guides? Not a fan of alot of the GameFAQs ones. I prefer just picking shit up in topics

Same here…but atm I’m pretty basic. Pretty much close p/k, 1) b,f +k, 2) df +k/f+k, then whatever you want: ff p, hcf k, dm/sdm. After knockdown/throw, dash in and as they stand 1) df +k, 2) df +k/f+k, 3) up+p 4) whatever finisher you want. Angel’s fuckin’ COMPLICATED yet simple, and for this reason, I haven’t touched her in over 5 years. But now I want to learn her. Then I can move on to another overly-complicated/simple character: Gai.

Either play home versions of 2k2 and go to training mode, or get an emu and set it for console mode so you can access the training mode there. You WILL need it with Angel…and the best guides that I know of ARE Gamefaqs faqs.
