I saw match vids of her and thought she was a really easy character to pick up and be effective with.
Then I do a little research and find out she has a combo system completely to her self and requires extreme execution to be used like she was in the match vids. Arguably one of the hardest characters to learn in KoF.
but at the end of the day she’s fun as shit so I’m still pretty determined to put some time in.
Execution-wise, Angel is really hard to use, but besides that, she’s a pretty braindead character. The wiki does have some information but it’s not really much about her gameplay, I just wrote up details regarding the infinite, some move properties and some tricks.
I’m not sure how viable she will be now that her infinite is gone in UM though.
Btw…anyone know what’s up with the wiki? I’m trying to edit it and it’s giving me messages that my username doesn’t exist and I have to fill out all these forms just to make a request to be an editor. It wasn’t like this before…
I got hit with that in the KOF XI wiki. I was uploading info and tried to add more info later but it said my username name doesn’t exist either. Dunno what’s that about.
From what I heard they were having problems with spambots filling up the wiki with crap and/or deleting stuff other people wrote, so they changed some stuff around to prevent that, now everybody must register again if they want to write in the wiki, even if they already had an account.
I noticed that, I mean taking out the infinite is one thing, but she should still be able to do shit off of cr.C, whiff df+b. And by stuff I mean stuff that does damage. It was like one of the good things about her. Infinites suck, but taking it away at the expense of a character sucks, especially if your going to tone her DM down so much. Oh well, maybe she’ll just be okayyyyyy, instead of high tier.
Not sure what you mean? During her combos or outside of combos? Outside of combos damage can pile up because there’s a good probability something from the chain is going to hit you…it’s a big guessing game unless you guard roll out of the way or try to reversal in between (which can be risky if she is mixing up that invincible hop).
Rolling with Clark in an attempt to throw someone is a bad idea, you’re wide open to any combo…you might as well just run forward and throw, or run forward and close C. Rolling is hardly ever used in high level play, except to get out of some pressure situations such as Whip/Choi crossup pressure, as well as guard rolls in general (which are very good).
