The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match Thread

2002 doesn’t have every character 98 has. I said they had a couple characters left out. Like the Sports team in 98. It hasn’t even been confirmed if everyone in 98UM will be in 2002UM. Like Saisyu. He’s in the background of the high school stage next to Kyo’s girlfriend.

The general word is that 98UM is balanced. And everyone is aware that with such a large roster in 2002UM balance will be an issue.

@Chibi: Hinako gameplay in the second match in the 2nd link. Check it out.

its the same combo from 2k2 actually.

yeah, I know. I wasn’t expecting anyone to do it in the vid though.

guard cancel roll activate | top tierness deactivate

as for k’s f+A, it was out of range and kim player walked into it late

Awesome, thanks!

This is a buy for me now, I was hoping they’d put her in since fucking 2k3, I missed her.

:frowning:

Thanks for the vids.
It looks good, and doesn’t play like regular 2k2, which is a good think IMO

I can’t believe the K’ player lost, but the HSDM was sick.
K’s fwd A was a bit wierd as noted, I knew it had a long hit frame though, but I didn’t know it was that long.

Kyo’s 99 DM was awesome, on counter it did stupid damage.

Kusunagi looks crazy in the character select screen.

Guard roll first hit, combo with anything

It’s always like that. It hit because Kim decided to move forward, otherwise it would have whiffed.

I think it will play almost exactly like 2k2, it’s just these guys don’t know how to play.

Hmm, the players in the first match, second video are much better than the first…

I see Chang’s ballspin is cancellable into other special moves…but what’s the purpose of these new supers? Outside of combos, they look useless, especially the Iori one from SvC.

yeah, it seems they’re adding a lot of useless shit. probably for those fans that complained about the loss of the moves.

kof2k2 was pretty damn balanced to begin with(I mean everyone was playable except seth, and I’ve seen the mexican community win with him anyway) so I’ m pretty sure they can make 2k2um work especially all seems to be cool with 98um(haven’t gotten my hands on it yet)

Regardless Hinako = win

Check the second vid along with the previous vids of Jhun. Some of these guys know how to play, and it looks to play differently than regular 2k2, which was Billy, Kim, Athena all day.

And Hinako is a sucky ass character design, as bad as Bao and Xiangfei

As for Mai’s move, It will likely be just like Mai’s DP+P from 98 (Regular Mai) in terms of usefulness, except you can not mash it to not get GC rolled for free. Only would be useful in combos, unless you can SC it somehow.

This game is going to have some differences from 2k2. BC mode looks to do less damage, and you can do SDM’s without BC’ing first so it looks like BC mode will be a lot less important. Also, all the added moves are going to change things up as well.

um hinako owns sir and so does bao

When was it Billy, Kim, Athena all day? Plus, putting in some new characters doesn’t mean the game plays much differently, and allowing SDMs to be done without maxmode isn’t much of a system change.

Which is a bad thing…what’s the point of making BC mode much less important?

I fucking hate Bao. He’s so gay to fight if you play a good player. You can’t do shit sometimes.:bluu:

XIangfei is the one that sucks unfortuneately.

bullshit

i dont give a damn about bao, and i like xiangfei, but come on, hinako is a pretty damn awesome design, and original to boot.

Tons of match vids have them being dominant in 2k2.
And I said it plays differently regular 2k2, which is true.

There are other characters just as prominent.

Because it was a dumb, unbalanced, tacked-on mechanic that plenty of people didn’t like???

And how important in BC mode to 2k2? Are you really at a disadvantage if you barely/never use it?
