lol @ online.
…the only people who should be complaing about online are those who have no fighting game players to play…like period in their area. Those who do, should really get off their ass and get a scene/lil group started OFFLINE. Gotta start somewhere right? Who cares if you suck, or if you play people better than u…at least you get to play others in general and other players realize u exist.
cool story bro
Webster, I know me and you have talked about this before, but I STILL do not understand why you totally resent online play when it comes KOF. The thing is, people ARE going to play with others offline regardless and it is their own personal business if they do or don’t. The tricky thing is, playing offline with people can be a little unfeasible most of the time. Sure, I play KOF offline against people almost 2 or 3 times a week but when I’m not playing with people (due to sometimes people are busy with life) offline, playing online isn’t bad either. I can practice my strategies/tactics and mind games from playing online. Sure it’s laggy (and i HATE lag) but at least you are playing with another human being that is thinking too instead of just CPU. I know for damn sure playing online isn’t perfect and it is a shell of the real game because of the lag, but you have to use things to your advantage.
I STRONGLY encourage those whom are local to me to play online during the times we don’t play together for independent training purposes only, and also just incase we may not have the personal means to get under one roof to play.
So, in my opinion using both offline and online together will strengthen the scene and the amount of players, it’s just up to players own personal business if they truly want to start their own sessions offline (a majority of them do, it’s just people don’t really know about 'em). Not everyone likes to just play ONLY online, people are always going to try to find local comp, while there are some heads that just like to play only online, which is there own business.
For a second there maybe l though you were right. But l lost some games on my host online has not been bad to me a little lag there and there just don’t play people with pings of 200 or up 100 and above is just fine.
I looked over the last few pages and dream cancel was listed as a site with guides, but a ton of the characters have nothing listed. What’s another site I could use?
check the wiki on dreamcancel. unfortunately cyberfanatix and dream cancel had a lot of stuff deleted. the wiki on srk only has regular 2k2 info but it might help you get started or just ask about the characters in this thread and people will help you.
desmond: online sucks. it’s not 100% fun. you’re judged playing online, when u can’t even play to your full potential. it makes people lazy. you sell yourself short by developing bad habits. etc. etc. (all imo)
now with me saying all that, anyone who knows me…knows I actually do play online. and i do it exclusively out of boredom. cause if i had people in my area i could play, more than just tekken (and to a small extent soul calibur 4…and i’m talking about “quality here”)…with, in my area (and I mean in the city i live in)…then I would play said games all the time offline.
but you are right. people will do whatever they want. and i shouldn’t care. and i really don’t (no offense). kinda makes me wonder why I even posted what I posted earlier.
The debates of offline play and quality online play, very interesting…
Ok a kof team play mode question. How do I fight Nameless?
That all sounds like a personal problem
listen. for once i’m not trying to start anything with u #srkplaymore hopefuls. sure i’ll admit, my post is definitely my personal problem. sue me. i’m sure others have the same feelings towards online play and how it effects potential offline communities. or whatever.
I’d imagine not losing rounds, KOing with as many (H)(S)DMs as you can, no time outs, that kind of stuff.
Gracias primo:tup:
To fight Nameless as the mid-boss, I think you NEED at least 1 MAX2/HSDM finish.
One source I saw said that you only need to finish fight 4 (the stage before the midboss) with the HSDM. Can anyone confirm?
Losing rounds I think only affects your ability to fight Rugal as the Special Boss.
Well, that it does at least, I thought the whole “don’t lose your second team member” requirement was only for the NESTS boss fight, but unless I forgot something and you can only go Ignis->Rugal, it seems to apply to all stages since I did it all in one credit without losing my second against Krizalid and got no Rugal =/
But see, it’s not really a good idea to say that when people are complaining about the online play/netcode of this game because they don’t have anyone to play in their area, is not true. That means they are complaining about the netcode of 2002Um because they want to play the game. Those people could be potential entries in future tourneys you and DG could run, I feel that people need to get into the game as any way as they can, they will eventually gather into offline communities once they know enough people here in the USA care and play the game as much as they do.
In my opinion what is hurting the offline communities isn’t people playing online, its just not having many people playing here period. And only a sprinkle of usa players play on GGPO, FYI.
I ended up hosting most of the night because it’s a hell of a lot easier than searching for matches, but for what it’s worth I had less of a problem with it than SFIV or NGBC (probably because I had to play 200 pings all day 'ery day in NGBC)
I’m reasonably set with K’ and King for 2/3 right now, who should I be looking at? Playing Athena like ST Ryu works occasionally and her dive does shut down the people who are spamming fireballs harder than me, but eh. I like the way SNK grapplers are designed but I’ve never been able to make one work.
I’m completely new to King of Fighters and I’ve been having some luck with Billy. He might make a good third. Sometimes I’ll reach through peoples’ keep away games with that pole.
I forget who but I think ‘carloslvKOF’, styled on my scrubby ass with Iory BC cancel combos and I was the host, and our ping was like 50 so take that for what it’s worth…
Heidern, Shermie and, so far Ryo. Wanna get good with Bao. I hope to play some more when I don’t have to sleep.
To fight nameless you need to win 2 rounds with an HSDM after the first 4 matches, kula will appear with 3 SDM, KYO 1. 2 and Kusanagi with 3 DM, and kula or foxy without none of them
Krizalid if you finish fight 5 normally, clone zero with a dm, zero with a SDM, and igniz with an HSDM, to fight rugal you need to beat igniz with your first character, unless you fight nameless, then, you could fill the same requirement with any of the bosses
