Yeah graveyard can be a bitch if you don’t get that shuteye. Real talk, I worked graveyard logistics for 3 months and got tired of it reaaaally quick. It just felt like I didn’t have no life you know? I felt like a zombie at times, reacting on instinct instead of pure thought. Shit was the worst for a good while.

Damn mang. Yeah, This kind of story is prevailant in fast food. I don’t know why, but most times, the managers can’t manage worth a damn. It’s like they project their pain onto the employees, knowing that too many times those same employees can walk out the door and leave them stuck with thousands of customers per hour and nobody manning up on the grill, tables, etc. Sorry about your dad. I hope he’s okay by now. Yeah, trade school is a better answer IMO. They just ain’t acting right over there at McD’s.

welp,im no longer an employee at Mcdonalds.I spoke with the head manager about letting me get a few days off to take care of my dad she said no and that i’d have to wait a week until the schedule is made if any changes are made.Then she handed me this weeks schedule and I seen nothing but over night shifts…so I said yeah i’ll be in,I didn’t come in for the next 2 nights,I was at the hospital with my dad.I didn’t bother to call in either cuz I know everytime I go to call out they tell me I cant.
That was a lot more cordial than you should’ve been. The SECOND they said no to letting you off to taking care of your dad you should’ve cursed them out and told them to go fuck themselves. They don’t deserve common courtesy when they do that shit to you. And then asking you to work anyway after you quit because of their stupidity? I would’ve come in and slapped her in the face and walked the fuck out.

Reminds me of something that was in my local papers in London 10 years or so back. A McDonalds worker who had aids was putting his blood in everything from the happy meal burgers to the mega mac’s. This was unprovoked, you had 5 year old girls getting infected. Very sad. But I would never fuck with someone preparing me food, I don’t want phlegm in my subway. Things are bad enough as they are in these places anyway, I’ve seen the KFC workers at the drive thru working without gloves, dropping the chicken on the floor then picking it up and carrying straight on.
I actually gotta give it to you for staying cool about it when your tactless boss puts her own agenda before her worker’s needs, especially when it’s family that’s sick. Clearly, you deserved better… well… most people working at McDonald’s do. But I feel that was mad disrespectful to ask you to come in like that. IDK, maybe she figured it was best to say that hoping you’d be the kind of worker who’s anxious about work and getting paid. She couldn’t have taken you for someone who’d play themselves. Well, whatever. Gonna miss the workers there, but I enjoyed it while it lasted lol.

Ahh damn, well it was good while it lasted. Family above all else comes first, it’s too bad some F’d up company like McD’s wouldn’t accommodate your needs.
Target diaries huh? Sounds interesting, but you’re probably a few months late I’m afraid. As a former employee, I know that most Targets DO NOT like to hire people around this time. Actually, they are letting their temp hires walk as of this moment. For instance, this one guy I knew that I worked with up until April 2010 called his wife and told her that he got fired when he really didn’t. It was suppose to be an April fools joke, but the joke was on him because the next day he was laid off. Our 3 month probation had expired and a decision on who they were going to keep had been made. If you do your job, then you probably have nothing to worry about. But, even then, you can still get laid off over favoritism (if you don’t suck up to managers, do the jobs nobody wants do, etc.) They kept me because I was one of the few people who could work the baler, even though it was right next to garbage dispenser (some of the worst odors I’ve ever smelled came from there, that’s why nobody wanted to do that job).
So what kind of people you are working with? Crooked ETLs, bullshit assignments, cool/dumb team leaders, that sorta jig. Walmart is…probably worse than Target. Former employee for them also, and I can honestly say they have the worst managers to ever step afoot the retail industry. Sam Walton would be spinning in his grave if he saw what Walmart has become now. From a entertainment aspect, Walmart would probably be better for dairy purpose because there’s always shit popping off there. One time my Walmart got a bomb threat and everyone had to evacuate the building, but it turned out to be a prank and everybody was suppose to return to work. But, over half of my department said fuck that and went home. A truck that was suppose to get unloaded never happened, so 3rd shift had to do it and boy were they pissed. Next day there were fights and all kinds of “coachings” going on lmao.
