Just got the guide from the BradyGames website, will make a Primer Thread for this badass.

I have been using Hwoarang on point and Akuma second. Mix up, pressure and hit confirm into some damage, then launch Akuma in and keep momentum with him. I find this a very strong approach to the game.

On another subject, i find that hp from flamingo stance is probably his best anti air option, up there with Sky Rocket in some situations. The problem is being in flamingo stance right? Well as some of you may know; you can cancel the start up animation of the stance basically instantly. I have had no problem sliding from lk mk hk to hp, on stick, on reaction to jump ins. I haven’t been able find a follow up but perhaps there is somthing from flamingo stance that could be used for extra damage. Also by default left trigger (on xbox iirc) is defaulted to lk mk hk, so you could quickly tap left trigger then right bumper to get the solid . Hopefully some one can find something with this! ^^

I noticed he was playing my team last i checked haha i feel so secluded when it comes to info, haven’t had time to watch any videos, and I’m sure there is all kinds of tech blowing up on WNF, and all the other streams. I recorded a bunch of footage for a practical tech and combo video, hope it isn’t all obsolete by the i get it edited tomorrow lol

I made the Primer thread, adding frame data and almost all the info from the BradyGames Guide, it’s so gdlk, everyone buy it. I’m dropping Steve as my partner, replacing him with Jin or someone else, any ideas?

Just curious , is crouching tech OS flamingo stance useful as a os tech throw situation ? When I tested it I rarely get hit by doing this and I tech at the same time ( Hold Cr.Back + Jab + Flamingo Stance )

All versions of air raid are safe, regular versions are all +6, ex is even, in air air raid is +2 and ex in air air raid is +6.

All versions of dynamite heel are +1 on block except for ex which is -11.

Lk hunting hawk is -4 the rest are all worse on block, not safe at all.

Spinning trap kick is even on block and +6 on hit.

All of his middle kick strings are unsafe.

I wanted to post up everything from the guide but I’m so tired, I will do it tomorrow if no one else does before me.

Nope. All of them canceled from c.hk leaves you at many negative frames. You can however cancel his special step into any special move. After a long block string that you would like to connect to his Dynamite Heel, which is +1 on block, but are worried about the range of it connecting you could cancel into special step, to close the distance a bit, then cancel into DH right away. I don’t have the frame data so idk if that’s a super tight block string but I’ve been using it.

Here’s my thoughts on that little ‘vortex’. Perhaps baiting them to tech into the corner adds some more practicality to it. You’ll still end up on the other side of them if they just normal rise. In the begging, because I had the idea at the moment, I threw in an idea for his dive kick to be used to extend exchange combos. Hope some one else out there can pick up on it?

after seeing this vid, i experimented a lot of corner setups, to keep the person in the corner. I was using lk Hunting hawk after a combo ending in Hk Hunting Hawk, but then soon realized that u can do lk/mk air raid to set ureself in the corner. I they dare roll, if i choose lk air raid, jump straight up mk/mp hits from the front, and of course, if i do mk air raid, it hits from the back. Dirty stuff. came up with a lot of stuff with others characters (ken/Ibuki).

Dude thanks for the knowledge I figured it would be a unsafe option,but I never thought to use dh to keep me safe after a block string,I’m sure it was discussed somewhere in this thread but I’m lazy to look back,but anyways thanks for giving me a safer option to use def do appreciate it

Special Step is cancelable??

I know you can cancel SS into Sky Rocket. I was testing it out in the Lab and Instead of doing Double DP motion for both moves, you an do Special Step and then press any kick button to cancel into Sky Rocket. As for the other moves, I do not know. I have a video of me “Thinking out Loud” with king and Hwoarang (Starts at the 10:08 mark);

The brady guide says Special Step is SM and EX cancelable (but not into Special step) and you can instantly cancel into Sky Rocket by pressing K.
