Capcom is pronouncing his name THE WAY NAMCO PRONOUNCES IT.
Actually, that pretty much is how it’s pronounced. His name in SFxT is pronounced the same way it is in most Tekken games (not just T6), because that is basically how you pronounce his name (화랑, “hah rung/rong”). The people who’ve been saying “Hwa Rang” for ten years like it rhymes with “Maw Fang” are having a “RIE-you” moment right now, where they probably just pronounced it phonetically as if it had English roots and aren’t used to hearing Korean phonemes.
I pronounce it Hwa-rang because that’s how ITF Taekwon-Do teaches you to say it.
So I just thought of something. Hwoarang has Dive Kicks and everything Combos in this game. Can you do a Dive Kick, Full Combo, Cancel into whatever?

Can you combo of of all his divekicks? It seems pretty hard to me? What normal should you use after the divekick hits? Also what is the chain comboe Chrs G used during the fingercramp stream to confirm into his specials?
I grew very fond of Hworang’s mp->lp chain that is an overhead and causes a groundbounce. After hitconfirming with that, I could do fadeaway kick (back mk) and cancel that into ex hunting hawk that causes a wallbounce and do jump HK to sweep, and leaves Hwoarand at a very good distance to mix up the opponent! I wish I had some training mode time with him though, so I could find a chain that looks like the mp->lp one, but hits low instead, for mixups (Im sure it exist).
Hwoarang is gonna be Footsies Champ. And have hard Punished Dive Kicks. Top Tier, anyone?
It wasn’t a chain combo. You can’t special cancel a chain. It was a target combo. Tekken characters have a minimum of 4 target combos each

It’s also worth noting that when you are doing comboes in flamingo stance, if you hold forward as you finish the combo, you will stay in flamingo stance after you are done.
Stance Changing Combos + Target Combos + Dive Kicks + Everything Combos + High-Low Mix-Ups = Top Tier

hwoarang = the mixup characters’ mixup character. looks like he’ll take a comparatively deeper understanding of what his different tools are good for, but once mastered, he’s gonna be a symphony of hi/los, baits, counters, cancels, throws, and combos. mixup daddy.
