Can Hwoarang even punch in this game?
Haven’t seen him in anything video he is in. Guess he is the all kick character
Do what do you think his punch buttons do? Stance switch?
Some things, he got from Tekken, needs further testing:
MP,LP is his RFF 4,3, LP is overhead
MP,MP is his RFF 4,4
Mk,MK, 6 is his LFF 3,3,f for FLA transition
MK,MK,MK is his LFF 3,3,3
4+MK is his u/b+4 from Tekken (probably overhead)
All his buttons are kick buttons.
It kinda disappoints me that he doesn’t even get his normal 1,2 combo sure it’s not important but it’s his only punches that’s useful in tekken. Eh just me
So this was the guy I picked whenever I played the odd game of Tekken and now that he’s in a game I GET more I’m excited to see what I can do.
have any pictures surfaced of Hwoarang in his original taekwondo gi? so far i’ve only seen that ugly leather outfit he’s had as an option since T4 or so, and now also some version of Deejay’s costume (WTF?). hopefully it’s included as an alternate, this would be like Heihachi only having his wooden shoe alt. or Kazuya only wearing the purple suit…just not right.
Hwoarang didn’t have his biker outfit in 4 he had a military uniform instead. I doubt any of of the Tekken characters will get their alts. Why did they give Hwoarang his P2 costume instead of P1? Probably because since Tekken 5 Namco has been displaying his P2 costume over his P1 in his character portraits.
when Hwoarang tags in Gief he calls him Geezer…rofl
I don’t see that as a bad thing, all things considered. If we have him running around in his Dobok then he’ll look similar to the other Gi wearing fighters. Besides, most fans recognize Hwoarang’s bad ass look over his traditional look.
Just watched the Giant Bomb preview of the game.
The announcer in game says his name like “How Wrong” when its spelled Hwoarang.
Well, yeah, I popped in tekken 4 and its definitely "Hwah Rong"

I wish there was more High Level Hwoarang play, like in the 25 Minutes video.
It’s a little sad since Tekken 6 did the SAME EXACT THING. It’s no wonder people used to call him “Bob” (As I found out a year ago meant “Boy on Bike”)
I call Hwoarang just Homorang. It’s easy.
Wait… You mean its NOT pronounced “how wrong”?!
Actually Tragic coined the term Bob when he was running tekken.net during tekken 4 days. He couldn’t pronounce Hworang correctly so he unofficially named him Bob and it stuck with the tekken community. Well, until they actually made a character named Bob a years later.
His moveset looks really good, but I’m kinda not feeling his strike directions. Most strong air kicks seems to be straight forward, and he doesn’t seem to cover a lot of space with normals (most once again going in a straight direction instead of large waves).
Also, I’m really disappointed by his resting pose. It’s all static 
As a Taekwondo practicioneer myself, a TKD resting is exactly the opposite : it’s all about bouncing back and forth (or in place), to keep a constant motion and unpredictability. The regular stance change is spot on, though.
Well, even a small hips bounce would kill the static feeling 
(p.s : it’s pronounced “Whoa-Reng”)
Agreeing with you on the stance issue, doesn’t seem true to his Tekken-self AND Taekwondo. It’s pronounced ‘Hwah-Rang’
