The Best way to describe Skull Candy is your purchasing “Style” not “Sound” quality. As you can see they rely heavily on their designs and not on the actual products reliability and sound outputs.
Even the most expensive skull candy model will not last you very long as ive had a co-worker break his Skull Crusher Model the 2nd week he owned them by accidentally pulling too hard on the cord getting up from this seat.
Don’t waste your time spending more then 20 bucks on any Skull candies. There is a reason they arent recommended to any music enthusiast or rated in the top 10 headphones of any audio listener site.
I’m in the market for some headphones, but I don’t want anything that’s going to break the bank. At the very most, I’ll want to pay $50, but they’d have to be something really good for that price. Ideally, I’d stick with my Koss Portapros, but that last few pairs I’ve had have died within two months, so its not really worth constantly replacing. Something over the ear would be great. And something that can fit on my large head.
I’d prefer to get it from Amazon, since I have a Prime membership and I would like to get something new ASAP. My crappy Zune earbuds can only drown out the sound of my roommate eating for a little while.
I’ve been using my Shure E2C buds for the past five or six years now for my iPod/iPhone. My girlfriend’s mom got them for me for Christmas one year and at the time they were $100. I’ve decided to retire them on account of wanting a set of buds with a built-in mic for actual phone use.
I listen to just about everything, but lately a lot of 70s funk music and a lot of old school R&B. The E2Cs have been great, but it would be awesome to have that extra convenience of being able to talk on the phone with peeps and also listen to music.
The ATH-WS50 sound like something I would go for, but I also want to take my foreign language lessons on the go as well. I assume works the same way as music? I’ll be using the Ipod4 if that helps or is info needed.
I don’t think I’d spend more than $60 of my own money for buds. Those Beats by Dre Tours look interesting, but I’d much rather not pay for anything with a Monster label on it.
Snap. Bremerton represent. We’re all in the NW forums.
if someone has integrated mobo sound on their pc would different types of headphones really sound drastically different from one another? buying headphones online is weird and risky because its like impossible physically to really know how good the headphones will sound without trying them on. its like buying a custom tailored tux for a formal event or candy or some shit.
There is a brand called MEElec, which has been very popular recently for more budget end equipment. I have their M6 and it compares well with my Sennheiser IE8s at a fraction of the cost, though I would definitely pick the IE8s anyday. There is a M6P, which is the M6 with a mic. I think they can be found for around $30.
It might be worthwhile for you (and everyone else interesting in headphones, IEMs, etc) to check out the forums at head-fi.org.
[edit: MaDWaK, there will definitely be a difference if you step up to higher end headphones. However, with onboard sound, that would definitely be the bottleneck. There are many places that offer a trial period though. I know Amazon and Headroom, among others, give you 30 days and you can return the headphones if you don’t find them to be worth the cost.]
Alrite I need some reccomendations,I DJ mostly hip hop and r&b music, something in the 50 dollar price range and a pair that will last a long time.I’ve been thinking about getting these but I never heard them before:
Don’t know how many of you here would be interested in this, but the AKG K702s are on sale at Buy.com (via Music123) for only $80. It’s a great deal, though these headphones really like a solid state amp to shine.
It’s probably a misprint, but hopefully the orders won’t be canceled.
I know this is a headphone thread, but anyone got any advice on earbuds?
I want to get my brother some earbuds for his ipod when he works out (he runs and lifts).
Been looking at the Sennheiser MX 680i, but some people have been reporting that the earbuds fall out. Any help would be awesome thanks! (he runs through those cheap apple in a months time)
Are Sony products extremely bass heavy… Sony headphones+Sony MP3 Player+Loud Volume= Headache… yet I like it at the same time… idk… seems a bit TOO low pitched… thumps hard as fuck but yet I can’t really hear any higher ranges…
I know that monster isn’t popular with some people but the monster turbines sound god damned amazing. I’ve let them burn in now for about 20 hours and they keep sounding better and better.
What’s weird about them and why I like them so much is that they actually create a sound stage rather than having the sound just forced into your ears like other in ear headphones. They’re right around 150 depending on where you look.
They were the only headphones I could find that were comperable to my senheiser cx 95s, which I can’t find any more except through shady dealers on ebay that sell fake shit.
I will agree with this, although I will also say that the standard Monster Turbines are kind of meh. The Pros are sick though, and surprisingly not overpriced.
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 202 headphones. Had them for a few months, not too satisfied, the base is pretty low and they don’t sound as loud as my old Sony ones, which I replaced cause I broke them with my ass.
I was interested in replacing them with the Sony MDR-XD200 headphones. Would they be better?
Also, any other suggestions? I want to keep it under $40, these are for casual use.
Medusa NX 5.1 Surround sound headset. Best pair you can get hands down for PC gaming. For US buyers, cyber snipa sells it rebranded under their own name for $60-70 online. Amazon has it.
I still use them Sony brands that I posted on the first page [about two years ago?]. In fact, I just bought a new set a month ago. I like the bass it gives off. And for only $21.
Looks like they raised the price since last time I bought them. Economy’s hard.
Dr. Dre’s headphones were pretty dope, as I listened to them at Best Buy. Then the high pitch noises came in and my head almost exploded. Indeed, some headphones that make use of the volume limiter on MP3 players.
