The Hakan General Discussion Thread

Reminder all.

f.lp and HP are pretty good for AA.

j.mp -> to f.HK (un oiled) is a pretty good reset for U1 for those expecting to get grounded when hit by j.mp.

Dudley super beats it.

no it dont goddman! TESTED…

Hey reaper2507, would it be possible for you to make videos of your claims? It would be nice to see evidence that LK oil is safe in the situations you are saying, because several people in this thread have tested it (including me), and to us it looks like things like Dudley’s Super beats LK oil after slide + follow-up.

i just tested it with a reversal super belive it or not or test it again; sorry but i dont hafe time for videos the last time noone belived me i posted a video of a standing 720 and im as sure as it is IT IS SAVE AGAINST REVERSAL SUPER (except the super has diffrent timings for Low to High buttons?)

Now I am really interested in how you do this. I don’t mash at all. LK Oil Shower is 53 frames. Dudley’s super is 3 frames. I don’t know how long it takes to get up from an untechable knockdown as Dudley. Anyone have any idea?

I discoverd something against Ken or every tatsu char. When they crossover you with a tatsu, Hakan can 360P or ultra1 (ultra2:xeye:ofcourse), even when missed or blocked. The trick is, when u see the jump falling from top to down, u must start blocking (left: if you’re playing on the left side) and make a clockwise 360 very fast and end left (blocking, when the tatsu hits u), when the tatsu hits or is next to u (not on the ground) we press P.

Against boxer, bait for a charge move, and do on reaction slide.
Like guile, boxer and any charge char, which are charing mid screen, use dash 360P. U can mixup dash 360P, with a dash cancel c.lk, for baiting.

I was wondering, is there any oiled up combo’s available other than 3x c.lk? I use only 3x s.lp, s.mp when i’m poking, but is there any alternatives when oiled?

doing a reaction slide to a balrog charge move can be difficult. I’ve gotten hit out of it by the charge move more than once. Balrog has some nice hitboxes on those.

Also check the “Hakanbos” thread for oil-specific (crisco) combos. With that method, you can even combo normal moves after a lvl 1 focus attack. Oiling up is really good for tick throw. after just about any normal you can follow up with a rocket.

Try it against reversal T.Hawk super. See if you can jump out of it.

It’s pretty safe, but I don’t think you can ever end up at an advantage or evens (0+/-).

I could be wrong, I hope so actually, but I couldn’t get past T.Hawk Super.

Well it seems like I may have been wrong about lk oil after slide being unsafe against certain characters. Instead, it seems that fierce slides tend to be safe while jab slides tend not to be. I tested this for 5 minutes against 3 characters, but that seemed to be an issue from my quick testing.

In other news, I feel like I’m finally starting to get a small level of comfort while using him. Yay!

Even with a 3 frame super? Because I tried all sorts of slides and none of them were working. Hmmm. Got to practice the timing in training mode then.

like im praying…

the trick is to buffer it realy late (if you buffer it to early it wont come out and you are save (sadly and unoiled…) but if it comes out its save PERIOD!

I dunno man, I just tested it against Ryu in as many ways as I could think, and Ryu got a free wakeup dragon punch each time.

I almost want to ask someone with a programmable controller to test it. Since that way you can do it on 1 frame and have 0 human error.

T Hawk is an amazingly fun matchup so far though. Actually any Grappler vs Hakan is fun.

Ibuki on the other hand is not nearly as fun. Hard to get oiled but it seems to weigh heavily in your favor if you get a knockdown. But if she gets a knockdown, have fun blocking mixups for a while.

HAPPENS;) i specialy tested it against DP’s and its the FUN PART that its save the most Player dont think so and you can Block&Punish them for free 2-3 Rounds and when they consider it as save the fun part begins with much more guessing Jump away–>DDT Jump UP–>Airtrhow Block–>Grab!

Besides you can hitconfirm a Ultra 1 after the LK Oil you just need to buffer the motion inside the lk oil and when you see they are crouching and not jumping press the button its silly how easy to confirm it is

hey ultradavid,

i’m real interested in watching your hakan in action. the only other person who plays hakan around in my area is shgl. are you dropping by wnf or thursday night fedex any time soon?

I recorded Hakan doing an HP Oil Slide (& Body Slam or whatever it’s called) followed by LK Oil Shower and held block ASAP. Tried it against Ryu and mashed out a reversal SRK and Hakan blocked it, so seems it is possible but extremely tight

Yesterday a guile tried to sonic hurricane me while i was doing super with hakan, and hakan went THROUGHT the sonic hurricane and grabbed him lol it was funny.

I’m having a lot, lot of problems against Guile and Dhalsim players, also T-Hawk. Guile and Dhalsim’s just run away, at least Dhalsim he just Teleports when im finally close…
T-Hawk because i cant tick throw , they just spam fucking 720 and 360 whatever happends… their air dives are punishable with slide but thats about it.

I have a question, is there any reason why you shouldn’t continue the slide with P ? i always do it if it hits.

I havnt found any reason not to do the follow up if it hits of course. I think it gives you more time to oil up maybe, not sure about that, but we will have to test Im not sure if its an untechable kd if you dont follow up.

I always LK Oil after a slide and have never been hit out of it unless my timing was off. The only thing that always gets me is 720 ultras and supers, and possibly 360 grabs but I don’t remember if that’s for sure
