Blackest Night is gonna be sick. Hopefully the Guardians realize they’ve been had before it’s too late. But I doubt it, since they’re arrogant little pricks that think they know everything, which is how Scar is pulling the wool over their eyes so easily.
So who do you think run the Black corps?
Anti-monitor? seem to easy to predict
My money is on Abin-sur
Nah.I don’t think Abin-sur will however,I think he’s gonna be a Black Lantern. What a way to piss Sinestro & Hal off.The confrontation that I will be interested in will be Aquaman(Arthur Curry)vs.his son,the new Aquaman. Also the say Lex Luthor is going to play a key part in the Blackest Night.

I don’t think this is a farce.I kind of knew Soranik was Sinestro’s daughter,so we’ll how all of this goes.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHH FFFUUUUCCCCKKK
Blackest night #1
[details=Spoiler]Started off kinda slow but once the rings were unleashed… well let just say that shit was being deliverd Ralph and Sue zombies were freakin boss
this event is going to own behind ownage[/details]
pure ownage. nothing else to say
Meh. Blackest Night is basically DC Zombies or Green Lantern of the Dead. So far I’m not impressed.
I’d say it’s a bit more than that. The character moments were quite good, and it certainly feels epic enough for a summer event. I just don’t think I was quite prepared for how fucking BRUTAL it is, physically and emotionally. I will admit though, I do feel like an idiot for
Blackest Night
[details=Spoiler]not considering the idea that people would be killed DURING the comic and brought back. This book is going to have a HUGE body count.
The scene with Scar and the rest of the Guardians was the big shocker for me. I did not expect her to rip out their FUCKING HEARTS. I’m worried Johns is off his meds or something
Although I know it won’t happen, I want Batman to come back at the end of this and beat the shit out of all the Black Lanterns with his OWN GODDAMN SKULL. Seriously, Black Hand better hope he doesn’t survive this, because he’s NOT going to want to face Bats after what he’s done.[/details]
Did you just compare Blackest Night to Marvel Zombies there?
After having a chance to read it, I’ll agree with darksoul that it starts out pretty slow but the shit really hit the fan by the last few pages. I’ll admit that I do not possess a vast knowledge of the DC Universe, so several of the scenes had little impact on me, yet I still managed to enjoy it. Hopefully by the second issue the action will pick up, er…should I say GL #44? I hate crossovers.
I’ve still got my fingers crossed for a zombified Wesley Dodds. Keep the faith.
Ya matrix its a taste of Hate in your Blood, Your a excellent candidate for a Red Ring…
After reading this shit…i felt like

Just remember to use fire and head shots Green Lanterns. Electricity works on them too.
People getting their hearts ripped out! Hell yeah that’s what I’m talking about! :chainsaw:
Big up to DC Comics for giving out FREE Black Lantern Rings with the purchase of Blackest Night #1! I wore mine on the train ride all the way home. Don’t say I never wore any bling!
This rather makes me wonder: Will the heroes have the willpower to destroyed the mortal remains of their dead friends?
BN #1 was pretty good, didn’t care much for the character focus though, but damn…freaky shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
WHAT?!? I never got one! pouts
All comic book stores were supposed to have them.
I completely Agree with J’onn J’onnzombie.
Hal and Barry SHOULD be dead.
the Black Lantern rings were given to any shop that ordered 50 copies of Blackest Night. 50 Copies = 50 rings. 100 Copies = 100 Rings, etc.
if you didn’t get one, they’re going for about $2 on ebay. But if you didn’t get one, call your LCS and ask if they got them, and if they did, to hold you one.
Book was good. Tales of the Corps was decent too. I wanna know whats up with the Indego Tribe.
I must say, William Hand is going from bitch to bull.
EDIT: A big holy shit goes to Scar. God damn girl.
I wish I could say that I enjoyed Tales of the Corps #1 as much as Blackest Night #1. The Saint Walker story was probably the best of the three, since I feel as though I know a bit more of his story and what drives him, but the other two stories left much to be desired. The Mongul story seems like a pointless love letter from Peter Tomasi to a character that has yet to have any impact on the Blackest Night story at all, other than the fact that Johns and Tomasi have still yet to resolve his coup of the Sinestro Corps. And honestly what can be said about the Indigo story? Aside from an idea as to how their powers work, it was simply too cryptic with the whole untranslatable language bullshit. These stories would have been better suited as backups in Green Lantern, rather than a separate book filled with ads, reprints, and subpar stories. I can’t believe I payed $3.99 for that shit.
Bought Blackest Night #1 yesterday…GOOD SHIT!!! Nice little twist with the unveiling of the new Black Lanterns @ the end. Can’t wait for the next issue
i just can’t understand how anyone likes this shit, much less several people enjoying it.
i feel put off when i get to read them for free.
I don’t know, man. I think a lot of superhero comic book readers just have a compulsion to constantly find out what’s gonna happen next. And with a big, hyped-up crossover crisis war comic that promises a lot of stuff that will change the universe, it’s money in the bank. Buying an issue of these things is probably like how normal people buy a newspaper, or the latest copy of ESPN the Mag or something. Superhero comics have basically become news dispatches into alternate worlds.
I flipped through Blackest Night just to see what the fuss was, but I couldn’t get into it at all. It’s basically something that is meant to appeal to addicted fans of the series and the DC universe. Nothing wrong with that, I guess, but it is what it is. And to be fair, it probably does what it’s meant to do as well as can be expected.
I honestly would prefer Marvel Zombies over Blackest Night. At least Marvel Zombies (the issues that I’ve read) have a sense of humor about them and don’t take themselves too seriously. (And Sean Phillips art.)
I think Geoff Johns could be shaping up to be this generation’s CLAREMONT. Johns doesn’t have the wordiness and purple prose that are CLAREMONT’s trademark, but they both have this similar style in terms of storytelling. It’s like everything that every character does has some sort of universe-spanning import. Everything that happens in the plot is MASSIVELY IMPORTANT, like “this is going to change things FOREVER!” When that happens over and over, it’s tough to get over. Johns isn’t guilty of this all the time, but it’s something I’ve been starting to notice in his work more and more.
