Cooper, Reynolds & Timberlake are Green Lantern Frontrunners

In a follow-up to this item, The Hollywood Reporter says that Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake are the three frontrunners for Warner Bros. Pictures’ Green Lantern.

Along with director Martin Campbell and producers Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti, Warner Bros. has spent the past five months searching for the actor to play Hal Jordan, the hot-shot Air Force pilot who is chosen by a dying alien to be his successor in an intergalactic police force known as the Green Lanterns.

Other actors in the early mix included Michael Fassbender, Henry Cavill and Jared Leto.

The trade adds that De Line, Campbell and the studio each had a different favorite among the three finalists, making it difficult to come to a consensus.

The studio is targeting a June 17, 2011 release.

tho, Sodam Yat changing the color of Daxam’s sun was some top notch writing. Now there’s a whole fucking planet of Superman ready to whoopass on Mongul and his stragglers.

I loved GL #43, Mahnke’s art was simply superb, and Johns reimagining of the previously extremely lame Black Hand into a truly sick necrophiliac couldn’t be more appropriate. Did anyone else pee their pants when they saw the Black Hand logo on the front of the funeral home? I thought the “body-bag” costume was awfully clever and the dialogue that came after just fucking chilling…“I wanted to wear something–something that reminded me of home. Of my family. Of my first kiss.” I hate to get overly hyped for big storyline events, seeing as how they rarely deliver, but this is Geoff Johns we’re talking about and I’m a TOTAL sucker for zombies. Boston Brand kind of seems like an oxymoron at this point, but if Wesley Dodds returns from the grave, I swear I’m gonna have multiple nerdgasms.
