The Greatest Videogame You've Ever Played

That’s definitely a grievance, though naked runs somewhat compensate. It’s more that the game has big sections of emptiness. Certain hallways: empty, no mechanic, sparse enemies, but pretty visuals and music. Half the damn inverse castle is a chore.

Maybe it’s because of leveling, or the fact that, unlike Samus, Alucard doesn’t have a gun.

Order of Ecclesia feels better than SotN methinks.

When you had seen the Amiga version, you shoved aside the NES version

Not a fan of naked runs, playing MMX1 and MMX2 has imprinted into my brain that I should always get stronger to fight stronger enemies.

This will probably sound cliche but Chrono Trigger. Next I would have to say Brave fencer Musashi on PS1 though I never got to beat it. That game was EPIC.

This may not be the best one I’ve ever played but…Asura’s Wrath comes pretty damn close.

A lot of people criticize this game because a lot of it is basically one big quick time event, but…it’s worth it. It’s so worth it. It is literally like playing one of the most exciting, action packed animes in existence.

Chrono Trigger

I’d say Asura’s Wrath is an anime style game done slightly right. I loved the cinematic’s, the story, and the characters but beyond that it left too much to be desired. The gameplay and monsters that you fought were too repetitive. I got tired of fighting that same big ass red elephant. I feel that more variety in monsters, upgrades to moves, and more combat overall would have helped. Not as bad as most people would make it seem to be but definitely could have been better.

LazyJosh might be surly, but he does enjoy his games, owns a bunch of games? Hasn’t felt anything or at worst cried to them or known why anyone else enjoyed a game story though…

This guy. Is the only expert of the SF3 forums, on getting online wins, which is not what anyone needs to learn. Why couldn’t he just stick to this topic and cosplay dot com images that don’t work. ;( I hope that cosplay chica is pretty. But FF8 stuff is pretty generic and old by now, they don’t got it like new cosplay women got it.

Dragon Age: Origins

Hey, Selphie still works fine on my screen. Get a real computer and an internet connection, and maybe you can see FFVIII cosplays girls AND play some 3s online some time… who knew?

Rpg talk and no Megami Tensei? You guys are doing it wrong…

Definitely, and you shouldn’t have to naked run a game to make it work.

oh i forgot about RPGs.

I haven’t played planescape torment or fallout 2 yet, so I’m just going to have to go either Baldurs Gate, Baldurs Gate 2. Nonlinear gameplay, AD&D ruleset for combat, great characters, branching dialog, multiple possible solutions to quest, and freedom to be evil or good. obviously it shits on every single JRPG ever made. FF6 is good though, because it had an emotionally powerful scenes and a soundtrack that could match it. but no seriously fuck japan, they are garbage. PC gaming 4 lyfe

edit: and yes morrowind, which is in a different category than baldurs gate, is also a godlike game.

never could care about western rpgs, most cause the characters always have lame ass stories. And other problem is you cant compare of the greatest rpg stories ever like chrono trigger or dragon quest V to Diablo games. The combat is pretty much click, click, click, keep pressing the same button over and over. Most of the time western rpgs, you only have 1 character also. If you like really repetitive gameplay like diablo and Baldurs Gate then good for you. They feel like GTA series were you keep doing the same shit over and over again.

At least in Dragon quest V, you get kidnapped, then your father dies, you escape from being a slave, then you get married to one of the 3 women, then you have kids, and look for your missing wife. And in the end the story un-folds the more you play. Western rpgs pretty much stick to save the world from some asshole. With the main character having no back round.

The first time I played okami, I was so-so with the game until I got to around the mooncave area. From that point, the game picks up and becomes so much more exciting. Then, this music starts playing, and you know you are playing a masterpiece.

I loooovedd streets of rage 2!

How could I possible forget about Cave Story? It has a nice simple touch and gives off a classic 2d vibe, this game is Metroidvania at its finest. One of the best things about it is the fact that its FREE! (www.cavestory.org)

Zelda 1- I really enjoyed this for its simplicity. I didn’t mind going from point A-B as long as I could obtain awesome items and feel a sense of progression. This is my favorite Zelda game, the only one I’ve actually played through all the way as well…Sadly lol

^2 random games that popped up in my head, I’ll post again when I think of some more.

Zelda 1 was great, beat the game and then you get to play a whole new zelda game on quest 2

Yes.

Fuck invisible doors, though.

Much less ones that need over a second of pushing against to activate.

Yeah - that ain’t cheap as all fuck.

Sent from my thumbs, using SRK technology.
