The Greatest Videogame You've Ever Played

You didnt see my list fam lol. look up a few posts.

Breath of fire 3
Otogi 1 +2
Alien soldier
At the time shenmue 1 and 2
Alpha 2

Final Fantasy 6 is my favorite game of all time. It was the only game to ever make me cry( I was 8 or 9 then and I had issues , ok?) lol, That game was soooo good. The story, characters, and it had a bad ass ninja with a dog named interceptor.

My top 5

  1. Final Fantasy 6
  2. Chrono Trigger
  3. Legend of Zelda a Link to the past
  4. Street Fighter 2
  5. Shining Force 2

Breath of Fire 2 was pretty cool too, especially with Kat.

People who try to claim today that Chrono Trigger was over-hyped or had anything wrong with it whatsoever, are obviously trolling. Don’t get sucked in. The game was and is easily one of the very best games Squaresoft did, and ever will do.

You need to play Valkyrie Profile.

No love for Ducktales?

You know what’s awesome, when people tout subjective thought as objectively true.

I did mention Dragon Quest 8 in my honorable mentions. DQ 1 was literally my first console RPG and set me on the path to being a conole RPG fanatic…

dragon warrior and dragon quest same thing, different names. Dragon quest 4,5,8 are the best to me I think

Yes, obviously. :bluu:

But hey, if you enjoy your half-assed combat systems (interesting battle/boss mechanics ruined by low difficulty and no difficulty selector) and disjointed-ass story that makes it very obvious it was written by like seven different people with conflicting visions, by all means.

I do enjoy it. I’m just not delusional about it.

I myself prefer TRPG’s but they are so few compared to the using turn based fare.

ARPGs are the future, won’t lie.

This game is an amazing genre fuck, and things like this should be done way more often then they do. Sadly I never beat it, hopefully I will one day with my dad to bring back old memories. Fucking amazing soundtrack.

Ah, I misread your post, I thought you were focusing on the gameplay being haflassed, as in the double and tri techs, I thought you said that was backwards, to which I thought…newwwwp. And was going to say that at the very least I couldn’t think of a single game with gameplay like that from that era, besides MAYBE Secret of Mana, which I haven’t played unfortunately.

But yeah, the game was pretty easy, I’ll be honest. On the difficulty, how many RPG’s did let you select the difficulty level, or even have multiple ones in the first place? Not many methicks, granted this doesn’t take away from the fact that Chrono Trigger is easy.

Haven’t really played console games but when i do go on, i play HDR on the PS3, yeah i know its shitty but i dont feel like upping my Live account since im not playing it at all anymore…Someone needs to start another league again or a HDR tournament…

I still like CT, don’t misunderstand. I just feel about it what I do about SotN.

More RPGs need cool combo techs.

Fuck that shit, I’m going back to Dragon Warrior: Monsters. That game shits on Pokemon in every way imaginable.

I get that.

How do you feel about SotN again? Too much backtracking? Or what you said in the final sentence of your post?

SotN…amazed it hasn’t been mentioned in this thread actually, then again the thread got FinalFucked.

My dad and I both agreed it’s biggest weakness is that by the time you get all the coolest shit, you have no use for it, both weapon and item-wise once you get the replicator.

Si?

funny you talk about pokemon, pokemon got there idea from Dragon Quest 5 on snes, were monsters would join your party. Dragon Quest Rocket slime on DS is really good, its not a rpg more like a action game like zelda. Though if you like games like DQ monsters and pokemon, Jade cocoon is really good on ps1, same with Monster Rancher

It’s not one of the best rpg’s around but i liked Septerra Core as a console style pc rpg.

I can’t pick only one game, but I will say that Time Splitters 2 is the greatest FPS I’ve ever played. Story mode was fun, multiplayer was godlike, challenge mode and arcade league gave you lots of things to do, mapmaker, and the sheer amount of playable characters just made the game too good. The game was complete as fuck. I can only imagine how much would of been DLC if released in today’s gaming market; it would probably be worth it though lol.

Shoutouts to the people that actually read my first post and are explaining every game they mention instead of just cumming lists everywhere.

I agree when specs says that HDR needs more praise , definately.
