Guuts, watching you and Mike Ross has been really entertaining-- I’m glad we’re in 2012 so that I could see you guys on youtube instead of only having garbage on TV to turn to.

Def, wish you the best Gootecks sir. as said above. you have contributed so much to the community, in the spot line and behind the scenes. I can only imagine the time, effort and heart put into what you do, along with dealing with the issues, heartaches and stress. You sir are not only a good person but a great leader. Conspiracy time: What if his semi-retirement is just to build backstage drama. What if Keits and Mr. Wizard become the Vince and Shane McMahon and run the FGC into the ground. Then Gootecks can come out with a beer truck and hose the place down?

Yeap… took a whole 18 or so hours before we hear Gootecks on stream again…
And he’s back.
I wouldn’t say he’s back so much as Mike Ross dragged him to WNF and is essentially twisting his arm to stay.
He didn’t want to be on stream, didn’t stay long on the mic, and sounded like he just wanted to go home.
The important thing is he’s done with Crosscounter, which is a huge blow because that, like so many other people, got me watching streams and more involved outside my local community. It’s also discouraging because the dynamic duo that is Gootecks and Mike Ross can’t be replaced. They had that inviting charisma that made you feel like you’ve known them for years. You can’t just find some random dude to fill those shoes.
Big props to Ryan “Gootecks” Gutierrez for everything he’s done, I’m glad he’s not perma leaving the scene. I just hope he returns one day with bigger and better ideas. We need innovators like him to breathe life into this scene.
Respect to Gootecks for being one of the first to get in on that '09 hustle.

Seriously, regardless of one’s opinion of his skill/lack thereof in fighters, the guy was a blast to watch, totally lovable, and put a shitload of time and effort into making people who’d never heard of fighters see why they should care about them.
