educate what? that the people who should be upholding the law are usually even less cut out to do just that what they where send out to do? yeah i get that, 99% of cops are undereducated and not fit for their line of work. how can you school someone when your even worse than the people your stopping? cops are people just like you and me, people who generally couldnt do what they really wanted to do and chose the easy way out by becomming a pig, i mean cop. usually any pig in a uniform is a bitch unsuited for their job. than there is this small percentage of cops that actually do understand what their line of work consists of.

I agree with both you and MC187, I know being a cop is dangerous and many have died by their own weapons. We can’t expect the cops to behave like robocop they’re only human, and humans make mistakes… But at the same time, like MC187 said there are cops who less educated go on powertrips and don’t protect and serve. Fact is we know little to nothing other than the initial report on what happened which sketchy at best, at this point it’s all speculation.
It just seems to me they made the error of trying to handle the situation themselves not calling for backup when he had already ran away from them 2 times. In hindsight who knows, the situation may have turned out differently with 2 more officers on the scene.
As for people not wanting to come forward as witnessess, this is LA, I thought everyone wants their 5minutes of fame :wonder: This is the biggest flaw in report that the cops are the only witnesses despite everything that happened. Do naked men scream outside your apartment every night that you just ignore that. And where exactly did this man run off to that meant he was out of public view.

Ninja Edit: you are right about shooting to the leg is dangerous, as far as I’m aware they do train for that. Just yesterday LAPD stopped a man waving his gun at civilians by shooting him in the legs (article says legs so I’m assuming they shot him more than once). They had backup this time too
I never said I wanted cops to have some superhuman ablilites. I’m pointing out the fact that whenever I hear anything about a black person gettin gunned down by police, who werent poppin guns back at em they’re always around the same dimensions in the reports. I don’t care if a mutha fucka is superman or not, they gotta find a way where they don’t have to kill a dude to detain him. Like I said, this case isn’t that big of a deal to me as far as whether the cops get punished or not, cause it was not like they shot him 50 times or beat him with a fuckin pole or ran him over five times with a cop car. I just find it hard to believe there was no other way he could be detained without being nuetralized.

every time a black guy gets shot or beat up by cops now, its instantly racism, regardless of how fuck the situation is that the cops have to deal with.
We get it, some cops ARE corrupt or racist, just like the rest of society. Doesn’t change the fact that they deal with shit the rest of us really have no idea how to handle, and they have to deal with it immediately, rather than look at the situation, and come up with several possible scenarios on how to fucking deal with somebody who could potentially kill you
Do you remember the incident when a white police officer was cautioning a black female for j-walking or something, then her female friend decides to get involved grabs the cop he turns and punches her? Well I never thought that was racially motivated, but I do think the cop reacted incorrectly. He showed he was not in control of the situation, human error.
Sure it does. Cops don’t get to make laws, politicians do and it’s mostly a response to hysteria. See the war on drugs and where that has lead us, or see the inane pushes about urban violence that haven’t solved much either.
The cops aren’t some sort of all powerful organization that decides what they want to do or even what level of force is needed. But blaming the public that asks for these sorts of laws and the politicians who enact them and set policy isn’t as cool as saying “fuck the police”.

yes i remember that scenario. He had two girls attacking him, and he punched one to calm her down when she got out of hand. We debated the fuck out of that situation too, AND THE GIRL APOLOGIZED AFTERWARDS
