I can agree with this completely, and I can agree with what you were saying in terms of here in the UK, I can walk by a group of white youths hanging out and drinking on the corner and feel just as threatened as if they were black it’s not like it makes a huge difference. I think sadly it is people such as the cop in the video who take those sort of statistics to mean that they should feel more threatened by black people when in reality they shouldnt.

Being totally honest most of the black people that I hang around with are some of the least threatening and nicest people i’ve ever met and usually it’s the groups of white 18-19 year old’s that you have to keep an eye on when you’re out in the club as they like to cause trouble. I don’t know if things are much different country to country either.

The question is, if the cop that stopped the black guy with the gun was also black, would he have done the same thing? If so, is that being racist towards himself, if at all?

Of course its racism even the white kids are saying its racism literally all the kids that were detained on and off camera except 1 were minorities. This isn’t a 100% white neighborhood minority kids that live there were detained how is assuming anyone who isn’t white is guilty not racist? The other thing about the pool party incident is that random white guy who was… just… there wasn’t told to move, nor was the white kid filming. Even the other black kids who were in the street were told to back up, but the white kid standing right there on the sidewalk? No problem.

Cpl. Eric Casebolt’s resignation comes a day after hundreds of protesters marched near the pool in McKinney where the incident took place last weekend.

McKinney Chief of Police Greg Conley said this evening that Casebolt’s actions on the cell phone recording of the incident were “indefensible.”

“Our policies, our training, our practice do not support his actions,” he added.

Conley described Casebolt as being “out of control,” while praising the actions of the 11 other officers on the scene.

“I had 12 officers on the scene and 11 of them… did an incredible job,” Conley said.**

Conley confirmed that there had been some other complaints against Casebolt, but Conley could not go into specifics.

The case against one of those who was arrested was dropped. It was not clear which case he was referring to.

The release of the video prompted national outcry after there were allegations that race played a factor in the way that the white officer treated the African-American teens.

But the McKinney Fraternal Order of Police vehemently denied that the incident was racially motivated.

“The McKinney FOP assures that this was not a racially motivated incident and can say without a shadow of doubt that all members of the McKinney FOP and McKinney PD do not conduct racially biased policing,” lodge president Daniel Malenfant said in a statement.

The 41-year-old officer was put on administrative leave this past weekend.

Casebolt did a terrible job trying to deescalate the situation and sort everything out. Officers were called to the scene to sort out whatever was going on and not make the situation worse or turn nothing into something. I’m guessing adrenaline kicked in and his ten years of experience went out the window. He did the complete opposite of deescalating the situation.

Because its mostly he said she said. Like the cop told the one dude, he said “yeah, other people did it too, but you got caught”. It happens. I think him resigning is a political move until this blows over. Racially charged policing? Lets not jump to conclusions. Over zealous policing that got to a dangerous point when he pulled out his gun and cocked it? Yes, even though it would be easily defended by the cops union lawyers. Hell, for all i know, the cop is working on a lawsuit against the county as is.

I’m a regular citizen, and if i had a knife or gun on me, and 2 dudes pounced up like they trying to give me that work, guess what item is coming into my hand next. Talking shit does not warrant getting dragged,slammed, and having a knee across the neck period. These are professional police officers who should be deescalating a situation not making it worse just how they came onto the scene was enough to escalate the whole thing. Coming onto the scene doing barrel rolls and yelling isn’t how shit gets done, You want to shit on the teenagers who do what teenagers do and give the cops a fucking pass for them acting like total dumbasses about the whole situation. Except that video starts after the initial incident that caused this. Allegedly an older white woman who was making racially charged insults to black teens, attacked a teenage black girl in frustration. You dont see the first cop roll up and what happened, or even the second, and how they reacted to the crowd initially. By the time this video starts, the chaos has already ensued. People have fought, emotions have risen, the first cop car has arrived, people have taken off running, and here we are catching the tail end of him trying to chase someone. Context is everything.

Talking shit to a cop in a situation like this, after he has repeatedly asked you to remove yourself from the fucking situation is likely going to have you rolled up on the ground, and the law will back him on that easily on some riot nonsense type shit.

The conversation right now is, she basically should be allowed to be a loud, defiant motherfucker in a time of mild chaos, just cause reasons. People talking about the cop deescalating the situation, but why shouldnt she have tried to deescalate herself. Those young men werent beaten and thrown in handcuffs. They were yelled at, and told to sit down. BOOO FUCKING HOO, and they admittedly were people who took off running when the cops arrived, and didnt listen when the cop said to stay still. Stop with the waco texas stuff. It was a different beast, and they didnt even have the manpower to handle a 300 man brawl with guns and knives. People have been very quick to flag this as racism. I don’t know though I can kind of see them reacting the same way if it were 100 white kids doing the same.

Of course its racism even the white kids are saying its racism literally all the kids that were detained on and off camera except 1 were minorities. This isn’t a 100% white neighborhood minority kids that live there were detained how is assuming anyone who isn’t white is guilty not racist? Ive even read stuff were peole in the neighborhood said that their was definitely also white kids acting rude and climbed the fence but they weren’t detained just told to go home.

Because its mostly he said she said. Like the cop told the one dude, he said “yeah, other people did it too, but you got caught”. It happens. A part of me feels comfortable assuming some type of prejudice, but until i hear an overwhelming report of the cops going OUT OF THEIR WAY to chase black kids vs white kids who were running from the scene, and or being loud and uncooperative, then im just gonna assume, the white kids simply just aint get caught.

Watched the video again. He took the gun out only when he was approached on his blind side by two guys. Once they were gone, he reholstered. In that context, its likely that he was just protecting his gun from being grabbed.

He didnt just pull he “cocked it” you watch it again. I would almost agree with you except he readied it to be fired. Not just that but went after them or rather he was going after them. Until the other cops showed up and made it seem to also calm him down by grabbing his arm.

If you think action is about to go down, yeah, you cock your gun. Pointing an uncocked gun instead of a cocked one is just semantics. He was trying to handle a situation that pretty much wasnt going to go further then her on the ground, and him on top, and then two dudes got within like 2 feet of him, hands up in a fighting stance like it was about to go down. Is he suppose to assume they aint bout that life and ignore them? Is he suppose to possibly get the shit beat out of him to not look bad in the public eye? Is he suppose to give demands like the ones he had been giving, and no one was listening to, in hopes these two young men bold enough to step to a cop would listen?

Look, him taking down the girl was unnecessary, and he lost his cool over her. I’m sure he was within his legal right to do so though, as she would not shut the fuck up and walk away. She had to get in the last word, and shit happens. She pop off like that to anyone but a cop, guess what happens, she gets her teeth knocked out, and he gave her the courtesy of telling her a million times to gtfo and walk away.

I’m confused how im suppose to be enraged by a young teen who refused to simply walk across the street and control herself, didnt, and got taken down for trying to act like shes this and that. If that was my daughter i found on the ground, id feel some type of way, but id let him know im the father, and try to ask what happened, talk to her, and deescalate the situation. I dont know what that little bitch done did. She may be on the ground for good reason.

Disagree the kids slipped when they approached him, secondly there were other cops on that scene and immediate area do you really think those teens are going to JUMP this dude witj other cops around? The kids lawyer was with him and made the statement “I was trying to make contact with the girl and let her know we were getting her mother”. The girl wasn’t so much popping off. She did comply and started walking away, she stopped and her worss were “On god imma go get my momma” He had no reason to pursuit her. Her talking shit didn’t impede him doing his job. If anything a STRONG case can be made for him allowing that fat tub of lard stay around and treated the black kids differently.

The department said his actions were "unbecoming of an officer "which is a legal crime. The girl and everyone detained was released because they didnt commit a crime.minus the noy that ran but his charges were dropped yesterday so that doesnt matter.

The main thing is he was unprofessional, aggressive verbally abusive and made the situation worse on top of the fact that he used excessive force. Which by the way tje police department says he was way to excessive in his handling of this.

The race issue comes in with the 1. Fat white monsters that attacked that black girl and use racial slurs (also no one came to police thise woman and file charges for assault AGAINST them) , and 2. the fact that I mentioned he allowed that Caucasian man to stand around him but was pushing the kids out for no reason. You can’t say get out to ALL THE BLACKS and then allow the camera holder who is white and that bystander stay without a word. That is where the racial issues lie. The other cops were cool. Nobody at all has had a problem with them. They support them. Heck even the officer at the beginning after accepting his flashlight back told the white kids dont run when you see the cops and in a calm voice to teach and educate the as he was getting information from the black kids. In fact the scene is safe until Casebolt shows up. He was a problem and doesn’t deserve to wear that badge

Well since there aren’t much pro-police stories here… A cop recently got killed in our city by a maniac.
Lot of support from the country and UK, since he was from there.
It’s been 25 years since a cop was killed in action in my city.

I do laugh at the difference between here and the USA.
The maniac shot cops from inside his house 50+ times, and the cops didn’t fire back once because they weren’t sure if anyone else was in the house. If it were Texas, that house would have collapsed.

I can only go on what I can see in this video, 1 cop out of control. Gonna take anything that people say on social media with a grain of salt. Post up any eye witness testimonies though.
