im mad the one officer got to retire after pleading guilty to tampering. LOL WUT!!?? You tampered with evidence that would have sent an innocent man away to jail, giving him a record, and possibly ruining his chances to better himself in this slim ball ass country, and you get to simply retire as a cop, not just flat out get fired, and tossed under the judicial bus.
there should be no instance where any interaction with a cop and a person is not recorded. fuck that my word over his bullshit. there definitely should also be no way to hide evidence of a dash cam. they should have to upload that after every trip, store it, and no one has access to it except a couple people. preferrably an outside company handling that would be better, but that cost money. i just dont trust cops to shit on their own when the time comes for it. the gang mentality is not just for street gangs.

also, a note for people quick to call the cops on someone, shit can go left real quick. so if youre calling the cops, make sure its not for a bullshit reason. whatever that incident that happened between him and his girl, that no one was injured in, and no one wanted to press charges, was in no way worth what happened to him, and what could have happened to him if they decided to take it further. cops already got away with murdering a mentally ill homeless man in california, and they get away with murdering people in nationwide news at least once a year.
all these issues with cops and their interactions with citizens could easily be solved, but basically its left to us to still have to record these fuck heads, because we cannot tell who is bad and who is good. even though we have the legal right too, they still act like we cannot, and get offended when we do, even if from a distance. this is what the police force around the nation has created. we DO NOT FUCKING TRUST YOU, AND THATS YOUR FAULT.
the good cops really just gotta man up and just start grouping together against the bad ones. even if they get fired, protest, and get people involved. we cant do this alone, we need help. we wont always have a recording device on us, a dash cam to save us, a store camera, or witnesses to help prevent us from getting bullied or beaten by cops. i tell you now, all cop interactions are getting at least an audio recording by me. until proven otherwise, i will assume you may be the guy who is going to try to put me in a coma today, and record it is.

The problem is the weeding out of police officers. All they care about is a “clean” background and if you can go through the academy.
That’s it. So there are tons of good people who want to be cops. But most of the police force is made up of guys who had no other option. Or just got out the military so this was a lateral move for them.
yup. there is no care about quality when it comes to law enforcement. thats pretty much on you to not be a dick, even when surrounded by dicks. i know it might not be the easiest job at times, but stop sending out the message that it is okay for cops to do this when shit like this and many other cases like it happen. i dont know whens the last time ive read of a cop getting punished for something that wasnt like a severe crime of like raping someone on tape or some shit.
dude took an L for 15 months in jail at 62 years old, and the tax payers loss over a million dollars because of what, you needed to reach your quota, you dont like black people, you were bored, what.
its should be a federal law for all dash cams to be on for every encounter. you (police officers) got away with decades of corruption and bullshit. its now time for big brother to step in and watch over you. as you can see by all the people recording cops even for normal everyday shit these days, the public distrust you. they know the dickheads they grew up with who are cops now, they read the stories on the internet, they have had the encounters themselves, they hear it from their friends.
it shouldnt take so fucking long to get dash cam footage either, and id like to see better regulations on that shit. there is a story above i believe where they tried to tamper with that shit, but didnt get away with it. it should be made damn near impossible to do that, you should be able to review the footage in a week tops.
its hard not to feel some type of way in general about police these days, and i know that sounds similar to people who might have like a bad encounter with a black person, then they become semi racist, but the cops, unlike regular every day pedestrians, can completely ignore the law, that they are not suppose to be above, and do they exact same thing a regular citizen could do to you, but walk away scott free. if youre lucky, maybe you get a settlement.
id rather see punishment for police officers be two times as harsh as the standard for when they break the law. its not hard to love america, but its equally not as hard to just be disgusted by this country, and a certain block of its citizens sometimes.

seems like the neighbors called the police on the two black males because they were asked to quiet down, because they were hanging out on their porch kicking it and being loud (said they were cursing too). one of the dudes cursed at the neighbor, and the neighbor called the cops. lol
the neighbor said he thinks he smelled weed coming from the house too. fucking snitch, or probably a lie, considering there were no charges for possession of marijuana, even though the neighbor said he smelled it, and the officer claims he did too. but if it was a small blunt, you can swallow that no problem, but not sure if they even searched for marijuana or not after arressting the one guy.
the cop said he was just going to initially give him a misdemeanor summons. for what? for sitting on the porch kicking it and minding your business, then telling your neighbor to fuck off because they want you to be quiet. dont you usually just come, knock on the door, say hey, your neighbors called because they said you guys are being loud and cursing, and theyre trying to relax with their kids. can you just keep it inside and dial it back a bit for today. have a good day. bye.
its easier to just comply in these situations, and then deal with it later. i understand his resistance to having an officer want to cuff and arrest him, and the officer not telling him anything about why he was cuffing him. im sure that (the officer not saying why hes doing what hes doing) is some type of protocol in order to prevent people from freaking out, or yelling to someone about why the cop is there, and having someone start to flea or some shit. with that said, all you need to do is calmly be like, “im not arresting you, but im going to put you in handcuffs and ask you some questions because your neighbor said you were being loud and cursing, then cursed at them when they tried to ask you to keep it down, and i smelled weed walking up to your door. make this easy for the both of us. id prefer to not have to lock you up” if after all of that explanation he still refused to be cuffed, then at the very least you tried to resolve the situation in a cordial manner, even if you might have still jumped the gun a bit to start.
whats the point in handling it how the officer did, especially when you are being recorded. i mean, youre just creating a PR nightmare for the department, and getting an unecessary light shined on your name. if i were a cop in situations like this, id try to handle it as cool as possible. if someone wants to truly get arrested for being dumb, let them dig their own grave. dont go acting like you are above the law over something as trivial as domestic disturbance of neighbors cursing at each other.
also, have some courtesy for your neighbors people. also, sometimes just take the L and go inside. they wont be on the porch forever, so take your kids inside for now and just let it be. people are so fucking stubborn sometimes.
i expect the charges to be dropped, and nothing to happen to the officer. the officer got a bug up his ass over nothing, wouldnt be shocked if his old ass is racist too, its new orleans. the officer had an opportunity to explain himself too when he told him to go sit down, and the guy complied, but instead was determined to arresst him.
25 years in jail because a woman lied under oath that she had seen the man commit the murder. why did she lie? she lied to avoid getting booked on an unrelated charge. so fuck the police involved in that and her for lying on that man.
when i hear of stories like this, i always think of how many people just got pwned by the system in the very least the 80s and 90s, when racism and prejudice was still pretty rampant in some areas, and police prejudice against young black men was the norm. man, back then there werent a lot of security cameras to help back up your story, and just technology in general didnt give us the great alibis it does now. you basically had to have apparently more evidence then plane tickets, videos, post cards, a hotel receipt, and hotel employees as witnesses to you being there. smfh. the worst part is he lost his appeal in 1990. this could have been over a long time ago, but it took him 25 years in prison for a murder conviction of his friend that he had nothing to do with.
25 fucking years man. hes 51 now. all his great years have been behind bars. i hope he wins no less then 50 million after taxes in a lawsuit. jesus fucking christ. imagine going to jail now, as most of you are in your early 20s, and seeing nothing but dudes, thugs, bars, shitty food, etc… for a quarter of a fucking century. not even having once a year to just be out and about in the world, even if you have to be escorted by officers. just a fucking prison yard for 25 years for something you didnt do. to say i would be mad would be the understatement of the universe.
