I’m not sure on this because of the strange phrasing, but it sounds like they made it so 16’s hyper armor won’t work against ki attacks, which would make it significantly less useful.

• Removed the invincibility to ranged attacks from Android 16’s Standing Heavy, Jumping Heavy and Crouching Heavy

True, but at least if the 16 player reads the ki blast he can opt to Super Dash instead.

The patch is definitely not the best patch ever, but it’s not the worst patch ever either. Unless you were a 16 main people will live with this patch. The salvageable part of the patch is definitely that MOST of the high tiers characters didn’t get destroyed. Which was a big problem people had with the with the first season of SFV (even though they said they wouldn’t do it). Which of course now Season 2 and AE SFV have made sure to not blow up their top tiers and even give them more good stuff now. Vegeta assist didn’t get destroyed, just another slight nerf because they dont want strong assists (but at least still keeps him as best/go to neutral assists)

It doesn’t address most of the stuff I would have liked it to address, but they’ll never address what I’d like to change with the game for me to play it any way. For those that are playing the game, you should still be able to play it unless you were a 16 main basically and even then.

The patch will be out tomorrow. We can find out how much everyone’s been dicked over or not dicked over then

Can’t wait to see all the fake 16s jumping ship like always.
Time to start ducking cell players, fuck this nigga and all the downies who main him. Its been a long time since i’ve hated fighting a character in a game this much.

It say invincibility not armor.

So it could just be that invincibility to S projectile it had. (now they’ll deal damage but 16 still armor trhough).

I didn’t realize it had actual projectile invincibility before, that’s why the notes confused me. I know I’ve stuffed those moves plenty of times with ki blasts thou, so I guess the invincibility is only when the armor is active?

On that note how many hits of armor does he have? Wondering if his tackle will lose to beams for example after patch.

he has INFINITE ARMOR on 5H. For the active duration. you can dash through every non-super. j5H lose to 2H tho. Cuz that shit is invincible to air :D. and such.

hitstop would imply basically when you block a move and you get pushed back from it. So we would assume then you block it and slowly get pushed backwards as you are blocking it obviously. However at the same time remember unless something changes with how they make this work, when you do a normal attack at the same time as a projectile you cancel each other out and only one counts in a sense. This is why you can tick throw in other games with obscure set ups like hards with fireballs etc. So whatever the case if we are to assume obviously if you are blocking vegetas assist in the first place while attacking him mixing him… You arent being pushed back anymore than you would have been in the first place once this happens.

So pretty obvious really you can block vegetas assist and its easy enough to see only the last hit pushes back, so we can assume now all the hits start to push back, but if you are attacking the dude anyway well~ if it acts like other things youre only really pushed back so much since 2 moves are hitting at the same time

Well patch is live.

You can now deflect or superdash at anytime while blocking vegeta assist.

16’s armored move lost invincibility AND armor vs all projectile.

See, this is what I mean when I say ‘Lets wait until the patch actually happens’. This sounds like Vegeta is the big loser now instead of 16

Well, Veg assist still top tier for combos I’d guess?

still top tier for combo and space control. Just less lockdown (you can always punish those tho, it’s like piccolo’s lvl1 stuff).

‘Lockdown’ was the big draw for him though. It was roughly the only assist in the game that gave Hidden Missile level mixup attempts. You can find combo and space control from pretty much anyone else.

Kid Buu assist lockdown is still pretty OD

Xcalibur Blades pretty much already had the team that would be near ideal for after patch. Cell/Kid Buu/Vegeta. Cell cuz top tier point, Kid Buu cuz also top character with lockdown and Vegeta cuz best neutral assist. Can call Kid Buu right after Vegeta to continue lockdown and the long lockdown helps build time back up for Vegeta.

Nope, Vegeta as lockdown is a thing of the past.

And that’s a good thing. An assist can’t be good for every situation. No it is a more specialize assist, just like any other assist.

Beam assist is now king of the assist in this game I guess.

The patch was really unclear about the vegeta assist. It’s not that the blockstun is reduced. You can’t mash anything while you are blocking the assist. It’s just that the assist returned to its beta status where you can deflect and SD cancel during any part of it.

That’s a huge deal but a legit deal. Vegeta is the most played character in the game for only one thing.

Well, damn.

Mid tier at best, is he serious ?

A. Gohan is still high tier nonetheless. Not top tier, ok, but he still has good buttons, very good pressure with assist and very good damage especially in the corner. People are just overreacting.
