The First Real Tier List Discussion Thread - Your Input Matters

DP is invincible the second it starts, stuffs Bella AND moves the head beyond the reach of the sweep. No protection required.

So, leave the head alone? That’s basically giving Fortune ground control for free, no? O.o

The problem is that hitting the head multiple times is asking for a DP to the face. Plus as soon as the head recovers from hitstun it’s able to do any of its moves, so since it can’t really be kept in hitstun by many things trying to constantly attack it isn’t a good idea (neither is attacking it with a lot of lights).

The way to do it would be to expect the head movement/special cancel, then punish that and wait again. Although it’s hard to do for basically everyone but Peacock. Peacock just can’t give two shits.

Hence why I said it’s rough matchup.

I’ve played more than my fair share of Fortune V Bella, it’s bad, not unwinnable, but bad.

You guys aren’t making a real tier list then, stop putting character you have a hard time with at the top. You gotta think outside of the box, i think my list is unbiased and not just about what i have a hard time against.

What in god’s name makes Valentine or Double top tier?

Still not convinced that Fortune beats Bella, but I can see how that head tactic can be a problem.

The head is the main problem.
With PBGC it’s a little better, but Fortune wins the footsie war because of that head.

What pokes does Fortune have without the head? Just one-hit, reduced range s.mp? I’m curious.

Doubles mixups and catheads, also still having the best assist in the game makes her a problem.

Valentine just pisses me off with her multi-hitting moves resets etc, its hard to get her off of you without a dp or something. Her grab is also gay as fuck, TOD ready character.

if close enough just the standard head attack works well as a poke, or zoom hits from around 3/4 screen, it’s an amazing poke.

So now you’re doing the same thing you said we did?

My little bella list. Haven’t fought many people post-patch, and need to fight more top-tier players(in their respective character levels), but here’s how things look to me. Also, as you know, my bella’s solo. B is even score, in a 10 match set. The higher bella is rated, the more she’ll win in that set. and vice versa.

Double: I’ve fought two double’s so far, so… If you use double on PSN, come at me so I can check her out.
Filia: B
Filia w/assist: B+
Fortune: Need to fight Guitalex before I give score.
Painwheel: B+
Painwheel w/ assist: C+
Parasoul: A+
Parasoul w/assist: B-
Peacock: A
Peacock w/assist: C-
Valentine: dunno, haven’t fought a good one.

Bella score: B+ (assuming three characters don’t matter)

UUuuuuh couldn’t you use classic ratings? 4-6 5-5 6-4 etc with Bella on the left side in a hypothetical 10match scenario between two same-strength players? These letters are confusing.

Also, can someone write down avg damage for random BnBs of the respective characters? Eg I don’t think Filia is a low damage character anymore, but I don’t have any actual comparison.
Eg Meterless midscreen Filia does 6-7k depending on with/-out jumpstarter and which if any. Don’t know corner and meterstuff yet. Lots of Resetoptions. How does that fare when compared to other chars?

Well shes still actually really good though, even if she pisses me off.

c.MP is a pretty deceptive anti-air, c.LK is a long range low, s.HK (preferably hitting the head also) is a good poke too.

The reason it’s preferable to also hit the head is because it makes it jump-cancellable even on block (because it counts as having hit for jump-cancel purposes)…

Hmm, well it just feels like Bella/Fortune is a match where Fortune wants to keep the head on until she can convert into rekka -> air super -> combo. S.mp and S.hp out-range everything Bella does at mid, except Titan Knuckle which is a commitment. S.mp for armored moves like LnL, S.hp for everything else, all into rekka. Just putting it out there seems to make the game harder for Fortune. Also, in the event that you do get caught, you have access to the head roll to escape most pressure situations.

What do I know though, most Fortunes I play always throw the head off. =/

From what I’ve seen (running stupid long sets with Guitalex), Ms.Fortune wants the head off at neutral.

With the head off, there’s no easy way for Cerebella to approach Ms.Fortune, while on the other hand, gives Ms.Fortune all the safety in the world through block stun to get in.

Why don’t you just use traditional numerical ratios? That’s easier to understand.

This list isn’t accurate at all. I’ll fix it.

S: Whomever you play
A: Whomever you don’t play

There we go.
