Spoiler

Eternal stasis I gess. Ugh everything was so deus ex machina near the end. Fuck the story and the ending.

Anyway I’ve been trying out Light’s Army of One skill but it doesn’t seem to do as much damage. Am I missing something?

It’s mainly to increase the chain/stagger bonus(at least from my experience), one use is to time it when you have very little stagger bar left, and start Army of one on the enemy, even the bar is gone during Army of one it will stay stagger until Army of one is finish, so you get like 8 secs extra time to the stagger.

Want a damaging 5 ATB move? Fang & Snow.

Just chiming to echo on the use of Army of One. Really, really good to crank up the stagger bonus once you’ve hit it. And that 5 ATB ability for Fang and Snow is absolutely amazing, working on a genji glove to really tweak it higher.

Yeah, the “limit breaks” are like this.

Lightning, Sazh and Hope build up the Stagger gauge extremely fast.

Snow and Xena are extreme damage dealers, especially Xena being the best Commando can hit for the 999,999 cap with Highwind. Snow’s “Power Dunk” is good too. Problem with this limits is that you have to time it wisely since the Stagger gauge resets after the hit so build it up as much as you can in percentage or when the gauge timer is about to run out and unleash.

Gabrielle’s Death is self explanatory.

Lightning has a trick with her limit to double damage. Change to Commando mid animation and it doubles.

:open_mouth: very very informative thanks!

Lightning’s is best used AFTER you have already gotten stagger. It will raise a staggered opponents gauge to 999.9% in just a couple turns. Then you’re characters will all be doing massive damage.

after you stagger the enemy, use army of one - depending on what you’re fighting and how high your stats are, 2-3 army of ones will get an enemy to 999% extra damage, plus you get a neat little scene of Lightning going spazzo on the enemy

edit: whoops didnt see last post, but yeh same deal

Finished the game.

Chapter 13 mobs are stupid. Avoid in particular the one with the 3 Dragonites and 3 Sacrifices.

Those Dragonites are just as cheap as the female soldiers. When you face them you’ll know why. They on their own aren’t too bad but coupled with other foes there and you’ll see.

My feelings on this game.

Great game, great story. The story isn’t narrated in cutscenes much but more on the datalog and the analects, kinda like FF Tactics. The analects are unlocked while doing the Pulse missions.

The Crystarium is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than the FF10 Sphere Grid. It also gives individuality to the characters as some spells and skills are unique to some. Even for secondary roles. Great job by Square on the Crystarium.

My favorites and final party winners are Gabrielle/Sazh interchaengable as leaders and Xena.

Lightning - Lightning to me is completeley meh. Never liked her design, don’t like her animations and not much of a personality either for almost all of the game. She sucks bad in that dept for almost all game but she had some great development at the end which gave her some major points.

Snow - He is the contrary of Lightning. He started badass and hot lava but after the whole thing in Chapter 7 he cooled off and became extremely one dimensional. Such a waste of a great character design. I tried to like him to the point of making him my leader but it just didn’t happened and he ended up second worst of all 6 characters for me. :crybaby:

Gabrielle - Awesome character. Didn’t like her at all when the JPN version came around and didn’t like her at first but she is easily the deepest and most developed character. I love this girl and her psycho moments as well, hehe.

Sazh-Tied with Gabrielle as my favorite character. This dude is the shit as he is a refreshing change for FF characters. He kept it real and his humor had great timing as well. Great development as well. Not to mention the best summon IMO. Too pimp. Only thing I don’t like about Sazh is his running animation and his wack stationary movement in battle. Square did a great job on this character. To me he is up there in my hall of fame with the likes of Auron among others.

Hope - Garbage character. Worst character in FF history to me.

Xena - She is hot and she is the best lancer ever. I can’t say more of her as she is too important but my thirst for lancers was satisfied with her big time.

Time to lower your heads Cid, Kimahri, Kain and Ricard. There is a new queen in town and she ain’t taking prisoners.

The villain was…

About Villain

Spoiler

Orphan was great. I went in and wishing for Barthandelus to be the final villain seeing as he was trolling these people all throughout like good old Golbez did in FF4 and X-Death did in FF5 but he turning out to be Orphan was a MAJOR TROLL and a great twist at the same time. Great villain and deservedly so. The datalog also helps in building him up.

Bad things about this game:

  1. Is too short. If you don’t do the Pulse missions, the game is roughly 40 hours. This is the shortest FF since FF5 which took like 20-24 hours. What is this? Am I back on the SNES times?

  2. I can’t control my whole party. The leader dying being Game Over doesn’t bother me much but not being able to control my whole party is annoying.

  3. The Upgrade system sucks, period. They tried to give freedom with it but since when you upgrade weapons, the exp bonuses start lowering when upgrading, making it a hassle to go back and forth buying the stuff to upgrade the exp bonus to upgrade the weapon, to upgrade the bonus, to upgrade the weapon, rinse and repeat ad nauseum. Then finding money and rare materials. This to me is this game biggest fail.

  4. Some enemies and mobs are plain unbalanced. You can have the Crystarium capped and they will still tap that ass. Especially the enemies that can launch you. This is a big oversight for Square. You have to work in every battle to stagger the foes to weaken/launch them but some enemies can launch you no problem on hit. Then while your character is in recovery animation, the enemy launches you again, basically an infinite with nothing you can do. It isn’t fair. Your party should have a stagger bar for the enemies to break. I have died with these launcher infinites like 5 times throughout the game. Shit was too ridiculous that I just had to LMAO!

  5. The second biggest fail to me of this game is the I have to finish the game first to open the whole Crystarium. That’s just plain retarded and stupid. This is the first FF that this bullshit has happened and hopefully the last. Once I want to finish the game, I finish the game and I am done with it. If I wanna replay, I replay. But on the same token, I like to grind before finishing the game but this game says no for whatever reason. I could reach the last boss super pumped and all maxed out but noooooo. I want to kill Neochu and the King Adamantoise easily but the game says no. The game says finish me first then you can do that. :lame:

All in all, a great FF game and it makes my Top 5 FF games all time. It ain’t perfect and it still doesn’t beat FF9 for the top spot for me but a great contender indeed.

Bring out the sequel and without Hope, please!

Just made it to pulse. Any cp farming suggestions?

finally got a trap. now i need to figure out whether or not i want to upgrade ultima weapon to omega or use it on the kain lance to dismantle it and get more…

i still only have like 650k gil or so…decisions decisions.

Godamn man you’re seriously the EXACT polar opposite to me, I can’t believe it! Don’t worry it’s all good though I respect your opinions. Beside the things you said in 3) and 5) just reverse everything you said and you’ll know how I feel about this game. I.E: I think Lightning is one of the best FF character designs across the series and I totally love her, Vanille should drown and get burned to death.Anyway I like the game but it’s not in my top ffs at all.

are there giant turtles with tusks in chapter 13?? not trying to spend a shitload of money creating a kain’s lance only to dismantle it to be honest…but i really want to continue the game and stop farming for traps in chapter 12.

There is none.

At the northern end of the main plains area there’s a save point next to a hill down to a Behemoth and a Magni…big wolf thing fighting. Run down there, preemptive strike rape them for 6600 cp, go up to the save point to reset them, and repeat ad nauseam. There’s a video in the OP.

fuuuuu

well…almost done with the three main roles for the characters. i will farm traps until those three roles are finished. if i don’t get a trap by the time those roles are finished (which is like two more fights lol) then i’m moving on. fuck this post game shit.

one last question…can you warp back to pulse BEFORE taking on the last boss? and EASILY warp back to the last boss? if so then i’ll farm on pulse and then return to the area with the last boss…if not then fuck it.

Spoiler

Someone explain me how come Light and co transformed into Cieth but then suddenly came back and somehow got a new focus (from who?) That’s really my major gripe with the story as if they knew the story was getting out of hand so they just created some random shit to fix everything. And how come everyone turned back normal except Fang and Vanille? Doesn’t make sense at all.

About the warps to Pulse and Leviathan Plaza

[details=Spoiler]You can warp back to Pulse and Leviathan Plaza from Eden yes.

But, you have to do it from the very beginning of Eden where there are the warp gates. Once you move further ahead then you oficially entered the dungeon and there are no warps before to these places before the final boss.[/details]

Sacred: I’ll try to answer you tomorrow about that. Too tired right now.

For anyone who hasn’t left Pulse yet; here’s the best thing you can do. Once you beat the Chapter 11 Boss, do not go to the ship. Instead, turn around, go to the abandoned schoolhouse, and start Mission 55 (must complete Mission 14 first). Next, learn Death with Vanille. Before the fight with the Neochu (the Mark), I suggest making your team Vanille (SAB),Lightning (MED), Snow/Fang (SEN). For equipment, give Vanille the debuff wand, Diamond Bangle, Sprint Shoes, and Aurora Scarf. Lightning should have similar equipment and the SEN should be wearing straight HP gear. Also, you want to use a Fortisol and Agisol. Next, cast Death on Neochu until it dies. This could take a few tries and you might need to Summon/Renew/Elixer near the first of the fight (because your SEN won’t have a guard up until he/she provokes). If you die, just retry (I had to retry 3 times). Upon victory you get a Growth Egg, which gives 2x CP for the entire team. Then, you can farm that Behe/Wolf fight for 13200. It takes me approximately 43 seconds for one full cycle of respawn, fight, kill. Even if you don’t want to farm Behe/Wolf, the Growth Egg will make the rest of your travels much easier (as there is some great EXP at the end game).
