The Final Fantasy XIII series thread. Black people sold separately

You get more than one Genji Glove. It is either 2 or 3.

Also, I just got the Limit Breaker trophy without breaking 100,000+ in a single attack. I used Vanille’s summon attack (the triangle one) against the 5 seed guys around the Ochu (used Death to kill the Ochu first). I don’t know how much damage it did, but it definitely wasn’t 100,000+ and I don’t have a Genji Glove.

EDIT: Do I ever get to fight that GIANT that ate the Adamantoise when you first see them? I see him walking around in the background looking all bad ass…but I’m starting to think I’ll never get to fight him. He should be the ultimate battle in this game, but instead it is some little punk-ass recolor of another baddie we’ve already fought multiple recolors of.

[spoiler=]My bad, I read save as destroy lol. I know he wants them to destroy cocoon but I don’t know why he fights them anyway :P[/details]

defeated bart II on my second try.
saw the intro to chapter 12. it changed my life. shit is OD.
got lionheart, finally.

time to upgrade as much as possible. i did the lil sidequest thing with the robot…so i have a few good items to sell.

what is the best combination of accessories for lightning with lionheart/ultima weapon/omega weapon as your weapon?
i have sprint shoes on her already. i think i should upgrade an item to kaiser knuckles, but what else?? any help is appreciated.

^the answer to that question is

lionheart
speedsash (this combo creates random: instant stagger)
sprint shoes (auto haste)
warrior’s wristband (which upgrades to kaiser knuckles)

gonna see what this does…

never got this questioned answered before but

mission 54

Spoiler

Keeping up with 10k needles is already rough. I’m guessing this is not possible at all without lucky break?

So why is Sazh the best Syn in the game? I used him all game until hope got haste then I just shipped him out. My Sazh is pretty weak with ~450atk and magic while hope has like ~800 magic.

He isn’t, Sazh and Hope both have the same Syn potential, its just Sazh has the HP/great stagger bonuses for his weapons vs Hope having no HP and insane medic skills.

You can get a lucky break on him, but well…it’s pretty rare to land it, but with all 3 that has it you might improve the odds.

Plus having a sentinel cuts down on 10k needles to 5k for all your members passively.

edit: also it helps to inflict slow on him, it’s always best to keep a sentinel in all your paradigm shifts for this fight…just forget about synergists since he’ll just void buffs.

Alright! Seems like I wasn’t the only one who thought that Sazh’s Blitz was GDLK. I have him Blitz everything. Lol, I don’t even bother with regular attacks anymore, unless it’s a stupid ass imp or they’re a million miles away.

Supposedly some of the later Mission bosses (55 anyone?) has niggas resorting to spamming Vanille’s death spell, because there’s almost no other way of beating it. They literally spam death 3-4 times, get game over after some stupid-ass insta-kill move, then repeat over and over until death finally hits. This isn’t skill, it’s luck.

When has FF battles turned into Russian roulette?

I mentioned it in the last page, but it’s the battle against Neochu, you only have to resort to this method in two missions. It’s pretty easy to beat it w/o death when you’re maxed out though

I can tell you this though, once you beat Mission 55 and get the prize, its a 200k CP/10 minute cycle grind at the very least. (two beasts, 6600 cp spot)

I finally got another round of this game. Game’s good, but I’m kind of sick going around as a two person party. Got Sazh and Vanille at the moment going through some green forest. How long more do I have to go as a two person team? :frowning:

You got awhile to go yet

I’ll update the first post will Weapon info later on if possible
…but how the heck can I do Mission 55? What must I do to be able to activate it’s Cie’th Stone?

BTW will this tactic work for beating Neochu, since it’s what I use to beat Ochu-
Star with Com+Med+Syn and keep attacking the Ochu, when fully buffed switch to Com+Rav+Rav or any other paradigm that you prefer and finish the battle.

feels mad good to walk around with ultima weapon maxed out and power glove maxed out. my lightning struts now. all she has to do is give enemies the “mom look” and they know they better not even think about acting up.

i love how enemies give crazy amounts of cp now. my grid looks crazy. NOW grinding is fun.

Mission 55

Spoiler

It’s on top of the abandoned schoolhouse in Oerba. To unlock it you must beat the final boss of Ch.11. You can start the mission before heading into Ch.12.

Like many others, I beat Neochu by spamming Vanille’s death until it eventually happened and then taking care of his minions afterward. It is a lot stronger than Ochu and its screech hurts, but if your party is also very strong (maxed out or close to it) than I’d imagine the same tactics used against Ochu would work.

^Thanks, I just went to look for the Stone and I found it, even though it didn’t show up on the map. I guess my best bet is to go Rav+Med+Med and hope it dies =/

That’s how I’m killing King Adamantoise for now, LOL!. Summon and spamming Death since there is no fair way to kill those damn turtles before finishing the game and opening the whole Crystarium. Either he dies or I die.

I have max Crystarium for Chapter 13 and the damn King only needs a stomp and one attack and I’m dead.

Both Neochu and King Adamantoise are tough. Tonberries as well but they get fucked with status effects so they are doable without max Crystarium.

Something i havent figured out yet, say im using Lightning and I upgrade +3 strength on commando in her Crystariums, is the +3 permanent towards her overal strength, or is it only when shes in commando? What im saying is if i shift to ravenger does that +3 strength follow through to RAV?

I understand it to be an across the board increase.

Otherwise your health would change everytime you Paradigm Shift.
