The Final Fantasy XIII series thread. Black people sold separately

shakes more than Michael J. Fox on a Chicago day

Nah

Word.

FF VI ***still ***has the greatest FF cast of all time.

Followed by IV and Tactics.

XIII managed to usurp the “worst cast” title from VIII, in my opinion.

Apart from and in spite of the ever solid Sazh.

Actually, XIII’s cast seems like what would - and did - inevitably happen were Square to followed further down the damnable path of VIII’s character design.

As I see it.

My top 3 casts are X, VI, and IV.

X’s development=seamless

That’s why I had arguably in there, puss smacks.

I was thinking of FFVI as I was typing that sentence. FFVI’s cast is the only one that can match up to XII’s, imo. FFVI and FFXII are pretty much on a tier of their own.

And that’s why we argued.

FFXII fucked up in so many ways, I cannot see how you could give it “best characters”, when said characters decide, whether it be by providence, the limits of DVD software, or what the fuck else, to stop pursuing their mutually compatible goals of revenge and justice, change everything in their character development and basically their personalities as a whole, drop everything…

…and

Fuck that noise.

As I see it.

As I see it.

XIII isn’t the best by far, but the characters were good for me at least. Except hope. FUCK hope.

I didn’t even really like most of FFVI’s cast. FFIV’s was the shit though.

FFT cast (the main characters that actually got plot) was MVP in my opinion.

I love me some FFT. Mustadio was my favorite character.

In FFVI, I really liked Sabin, he was awesome.

X had the best cast to me. IX would be the best if anyone developed besides dagger and Vivi (best ff char ever to me). Freya was cool as hell and she was wasted. Amarant was never even touched. Eiko was just there to show you what dagger really was. Never finished VI. I loved Rinoa, everyone else was throw away in that game.

I agree with you completely on this. I like XII’s story but I see why others don’t as it goes absent for a long periods of time during gameplay, even longer periods of time if you indulge in all the side shit there is to do in XII.

Rinoa was VIII. She was (aesthetically) Yuna 1.0 IMO.

Although there is no better than Tifa

No Pop Songs For Final Fantasy XIII-2, Sequel Will Explain Events In XIII // Siliconera

"By playing Final Fantasy XIII-2 you?ll see the complete story. This game will cover the events behind the scenes of Final Fantasy XIII and have a dark feel to it. "

the most important part of the article IMO:

now lets see what they do.

Now they’re going to make everyone dark and brooding like Cloud. Great. =(
But really though; I thought the variety of characters was a fresh breath of air. Sure, to some it may have been smoggy, LA air, but at least it was something different.

From the article: “Other characters from Final Fantasy XIII will return with major and unexpected changes.”

I’m not sure that can be a good thing in anyway. Fang and Vanille are out of the picture. Sazh’s story is pretty much wrapped up. They’ll bring him back as he was the most popular character, but “unexpected” changes to him could really only be bad. Snow and Serrah were essentially a finished story branch. I expect them to pull a Wakka and Lulu, shipping them off somewhere to make babies. That leaves Hope. I suppose he could “toughen up” and be edgy, but by the end of 13 he was showing enough resolve that this wouldn’t be unexpected.

I kind of expect some kind of cliche’ face/heel turn for one of the party members. bleh.

there is no way that they aren’t bringing fang and vanille back, IMO.

Fang and Vanille are finna “de-crystalize” and come back on some Han-Solo shit.

Hope might pull a Raiden.

Sazh is gonna have a female interest and his son might be a party member or his powers develop. Did the party even lose their powers?

FF13 had to have been the most pretty waste of time in the last 5 years, i liked the battle system but the story was trite and the music was terrible. The characters other than Sazh annoyed the hell out of me.

Whatever happens, don’t bring back Hope. Unless they make an actual non shitty character and pretend it was Hope.

You know what, forget what I said, just have a new trailer that shows Lightning kill Hope on camera and confirms no Hope in XIII-2, that’s all the marketing SE needs.

I was thinking something along those lines. Essentially, if they made Hope the antagonist, it would be pretty good motivation for a lot of people to get XIII-2. I would love to watch him die at the hands of my character(s) at the end, personally. I didn’t mind him so much at the very end of the game, truthfully, but the many hours before that still left me bitter.
