I liked the characters and there were some parts that I felt emotional with them, just cuz you didn’t feel it doesn’t mean it ain’t there bro.
I just re-iterated the story in my head to make it all work out for me, but otherwise…I don’t care much about story and characterization in RPGs, if it interests me, it interests me, if not, no loss.
Snow’s Theme played pretty much anytime Snow decided he wanted to go into ‘hero mode’.
Snow: Man I’m so fucking awesome bro! I’m gonna go save those people! stands there mean muggin for no reason and pounding his fist into the palm of his other hand for half a minute while his music kicks in

Can you describe the parts that got you feeling emotional…I’m just curious.
Well I liked whenever Snow would go Hero mode, that was more of a character moment than emotional, and even when he was down, the others would him right back up. He wouldn’t hesitate to do what he can to help others.
I really felt sad for Vanille and Fang when finding out that they’re the only living people of Pulse and of Oerba, not to mention how sad Oerba’s theme is.
Sahz is a cool dad, granted he wasn’t positive on most stuff early in the game, but he was trying to be realistic. It still didn’t stop him from finding his son.
+9000 for magical girl Lightning and dress spheres in XIII-2. :woot:
The sword and shield Paladin look reminded me of something from Soul Calibur. That means Lightning should be able to change into the following classes: Ninja, Geisha, Dominatrix, Gothic Clown.
I’d also like to see the option to change hair styles, customize her clothing by selecting different colors and picking from various straps, buckles and belt designs as well as custom soundtrack support so I can choose which J-pop song I want Lightning to lip sync to.
No homo to all of the above.
And FF14 is the worst FF ever, nothing comes even close.
Here’s what I’ve got. I figured I might as well get a bit specific because I never see people who really dislike the game/story getting specific. It’s always generalizations about hallways, pressing x, bro-this, bro-that, Sazh is ok, Vanille VA is bad…but I’m always left with the impression that those people copied their responses from some 12 year old on Kotaku who is justifying his gaming cred by claiming FF7 is great or by someone who only played part way into the game.
Admittedly, as someone who likes the game, they take too long to get to the hook that keeps everything interesting. That’s a shame too, because I think the whole product is worthwhile. You do have to look at the entire picture of what happens in game though. The first half isn’t enough to frame the cast or story.
Anyway, stuff I thought was noteworthy:
The military guy (forget his name) who basically tells the team that their lives aren’t worth the risk to everyone else in Cocoon. (he was right, it wasn’t just villain posturing)
Vanille turning out to be a complete lying bitch and a fraud; Sazh’s near suicide over it.
Snow coming to terms with having been responsible for Hope’s mother’s death.
Lightning and Snow reconciling.
The entire party sticking with Fang despite her making really bad decisions.
The whole ending sequence. (if that didn’t move you a little bit, you’re probably kind of heartless)
The whole time I was playing the game I really, really wanted Fang to wash her hair. That shit looked hella oily and greasy.
Her neck and collarbone looked delicious, though.
Fang was delicious period <3
I’ll take a bit of Claire over Fang. I feel like with that choice I would never have to say, “So, how about a shower first?”

Sounds pretty fucking specific to me. Ten hours in, I still auto battle through everything, can’t choose my team members, pressing forward through long hallways that just lead to longer hallways broken up only by long flashback scenes, my progression stunted for some reason so that half way through every area the fights are worthless since I can’t go any further into that crystal grid. This says nothing of the fact that mana and health regens after every fight and I can only control one character in the party.
But for some reason, people who dislike this are supposed to have played through the 20 hour tutorial to get to the “good part” where half of our problems with the game are lessened. You sound like the 12 year old, white knighting a fucking video game. If you like it, play it and stop insulting people who did not.
Only memorable moments in FF13 were the fact there was a black man and that lightning was still beating Snow’s ass like 2/3 of the game in. Shit elicited a few chuckles.

But if you’re going to come into a thread and talk mad shit about a game/topic and then get butthurt over the responses (especially one not directed at you, but apparently still applicable), then you need to shut the fuck up or get a thicker skin.
lol Snow’s buddies were the equivalent of FF9’s Tantalus; I’ve always wanted to see what these two groups were doing while the main characters were on the main quest.
