The Final Fantasy XIII series thread. Black people sold separately

^^ this, I am there too lol

as long as your main 3 roles are maxed out, you’re good.

Has anyone here actually killed Neochu and his offspring without using Death?

I just got into this battle and now I can see why it’s so rediculous. I can survive the screeches, my main problem is that he takes way too long to stagger. THis mission better have a large target time.

Thanks for the video. I don’t actually have any dark matters (that’s why I’m fighting Shao Long Gui’s) and I noticed he has pretty much upgraded kaiser knuckles for everyone. I can’t actually kill the guy after a single stagger.

I can get by at least 50% using the daze tactics, but once he starts spamming stomp/quake/bay/ultima, I can’t really hold him off. Any tips on what to do after he starts turning postal?

All I can say is just keep spamming Daze and hope that he doesn’t have any time to attack.

How far along the crystarium are you by the way?

k, just beat the game, and a few Q’s and statements:

some questions

Spoiler

wtf is the point of Barthandelus? Is he that owl as well? Why ‘trick’ the party into trying to destroy Orphan, when that’s the point anyways?

So are Vanille and Fang crystal now? Kind of a shitty ending. I kept waiting after the end credits for something good to happen, but NOOOOOOOOOO…

Why did orphan suck so bad? Seriously, after kickass final bosses like Zeromus, Ex-Death, Kefka, and Sephiroth, we get a fucking Picasso that looks like it’s playing the harp?

fix’d (i hope lol)

also, how do I get to that giant mother fucking robot? wtf is it? And where are tonberries?

You have to put in info for the spoiler tag. E.G., put {spoiler=words describing spoiler go here} text of spoiler goes here {/spoiler}

edit: good stuff, thanks for fixing that quickly

their entire story fell apart when they reached ch 11. like all the forshadowing was for something entirely different than what happened in that chapter, it almost seems to me like they were told after the fact during development to scrap a lot of it and just rework the story to fit, which explains why the game falls so flat story wise at that point.

About story and ending

Spoiler

When you do the missions in GP, some missions will unlock a list in the datalog (it comes in 13 parts), it is a Grand Pulse’s history when human still lives on GP, comes in poem form and kind of vague, at the last parts it does explains more about Fang & Van’s role in the story. It doesn’t fill all the voids of the story but it is pretty useful info.

If that design was in an older FF, you wouldn’t be complaining about it…and those bosses are old…

Which one, Titan? Titan’s not a robot, but you can reach him via chocobo. You can get to him by riding a chocobo and going through a moutain path that is North of the exit from Vallis Media and is next to the 7 Cie’th Stones.
Tonberries are fought in 2 battles only, you access them as you are going to Titan.

Just got the 100% platinum trophy last night. I just needed to get the right combo of equipments going.

Thanks for the help.

My god, the
Chapter 11 boss

Spoiler

second Barthandelus fight is annoying the fuck out of me

. I’m using Sazh/Snow/Vanille, I can work him down slowly, but then he uses Doom and I’m just screwed. If I try to fight him more quickly, I just get fucked by Cursega, Thanatosian Laughter, etc. Any suggestions?

ok, seriously the last mission is some bullshit, i have gotten it killed in 8:19 and no 5 star, i don’t see how i can kill it any faster.

currently i’m using:light fang hope
sen sen sen
med med med
syn syn med
sab sab rav
rav com med
com com rav

keeping poison on it and it dispelled and then beating the crap out of it, but with how fast it runs to it’s shell and that stupid dispel move it spams idk what else i can do -_-; and staggers don’t really mean shit against him because of how fast he uses that bullshit aura.

@drunkninja

Get that charm that resists death and put it on your group leader i used about 2, 3 should be make you almost invulnerable.

I beat it last night. I loved the story, but the music that played during the ending was not flattering.

I used the same team, but with a different set of paradig-em’s and Fang as leader.

lulz (Just to keep it semi-neat)

[details=Spoiler]
sen sen sen = Same.
med med med = Used com / med / med.
syn syn med = syn x3
sab sab rav = sab x3
rav com med = Same.
com com rav = rav x3 (for when I feel daring or after healing from Wicked Whirl)

But your paradig-em set should work as well. [/details]

Try equipping the Gold Watch to extend your target time. Also, if your target time is really low, try and not use some * items. IIRC they lower target times considerably.

Also, if you’re not already, go into the battle fully buffed with Aegisol/Fortisol. Assuming you’re going with a similar paradig-em as me, instead of going med x3 after eating a nice bowl of Wicked Whirl, switch over to com / rav / med to continue your onslaught while Hopeless heals you (Curaja is GDLK).

After being healed, if you’re feeling a bit risky, switch to triple rav and nuke the bastard. If you ever stagger, immediately Highwind with Fang to get out as much damage as possible before he shields up again.

If it’s any help, can use Vanille’s death trick on the mISSION 64 boss and it’ll do damage even when he enters his Immunity mode (though not sure if he can be damaged when he’s healing and buffing up.)

does highwind really put up enough damage at low %'s to be worth it? i have moved away from going for staggers as i lose out on major damage (my light hits for 3k from rav spells but 20k+ from com attacks) and when i did get staggers i would only see like 60k~ because the % never got too high. also i have moved away from my genji gloves for this fight. my accessories are:

light: gold watch, kaiser knuckles, magistral crest (300 mag), imperial armlet(-20% damage) (she kept dieing)
fang: kaiser knuckles x3, power gloves(250 str)
hope: top level hp bangle (gives him more hp than light lol), 3x weirding glyphs (250 mag)

It did around 350k for me for about two rounds of rav chain building. If I decide not to Highwind after staggering, I just let Fang attack and do damage that way.

And that’s probably why you have such a low target time, your items are all maxed it seems.
