Those are MY choices for Ultimate Weapons to upgrade… But I provide the link to a site which gives you all characters final ultimate weapon stats, so you can make your own decisions if you don’t like what Im going with.
That’s what the Chocobo is for which you can ride after mission 14. There are a total of 64 missions and most of them are in other areas of Gran Pulse.
There are a total of
64 missions in the game; I think you could redo the tower missions later on after you advance farther into the game
Should I sell Bomb Shards? Each is worth 800 Gil IIRC and I can get 6 of them from a battle.
Hope ends up with the highest Magic, over Vanille, which makes him the better medic. He also fills a better support role as Synergist, whereas Vanille is made useless with Fang also being a decent Saboteur. Sazh won’t be in your party, so you need someone to buff the group.
Death is a horrible reason to support Vanille. It’s situational and a crutch to beat mission 55 before you could normally. If you have to rely on it for anything else, your tactics are lacking.
Im not sure how much Axis Blade “ATB Recover on Attacks” is worth… HOW much ATB does it recover? When you have haste at your disposal so your ATB is already going up pretty fast, is it really that useful compared to about +200/+200 AND Early Breaks on mobs?
Im going with Lionheart (check Post #4 for my preferences for each character)… It just seems like having Early Breaks is really >>>> everything because of all the benefits you get against a Staggered apponent.
Vanille is only useful if you need a good saboteur while Fang is busy being a Sentinel or a Commando. Also, IMO, Hope is a better Synergist than Sahz, since I find Veil more useful than Vigilance. Status effects tend to hit the whole party and (in the case of Pain/Fog/Daze) are rather debilitating, while interrupting attacks are usually mitigated by having a Sentinel.
Oh yeah, and my suggestions for Ultimate Weapons:
Lightning = Lionheart (Quicker stagger + chance to randomly stagger with equipment= GDLK)
Sazh = Antares Deluxes (Faster chain building is always good)
Snow = Umbra (Best tank weapon for the best tank)
Hope = Hawkeye (Faster stagger percentage building with Orshivani isn’t worth losing 200 Magic from Hawkeye)
Vanille = Belladonna Wand (Since she’ll only be brought in for Saboteur work, might as well make her the best at it. Hope’ll have a higher Magic stat for healing regardless.)
Fang = Taming Pole (Stagger Lock doesn’t matter with Fang, since she’s best as a Commando.)
I would use Hope, but I would take Vanille and her “gimp” magic any day.
It might be the AI or just my luck, but Hope NEVER heals me. I can’t count the number of times when I’m sitting here watching my life go down and die, while that little fucker is just sitting there doing nothing.
So… for the summons, how do I use them so they actually become effective?
I seem to be using them more for instant party healing more than anything else. I can’t seem to get an enemies stagger bar up, and thus the damage they do isn’t great… Should I only summon them once they are already staggered?
Here’s my list:
Lightning: Lionheart - She definitely needs both Strength and Magic stats, and this has the best bonuses of the Strength/Magic weapons.
Snow: Power Circle - All Strength. Sacrificial Circle is good, but I wouldn’t take the HP hit.
Fang: Dragoon Lance - All Strength again. She is the best COM in the game, and doesn’t rely on magic at all.
Hope: Hawkeye - All Magic. Best RAV in the game, no need for Strength, bonuses from other weapons aren’t worth the Magic hit.
Sazh: Rigel - It’s arguable whether Sazh needs Strength at all, but having a second Strength/Magic character is useful, and Stagger Lock isn’t a big deal as long as he’s the only one who has it.
Vanille: Pearlwing Staff - It’s between this and Belladonna Wand, but for someone who’s in RAV and MED most of the time, I wouldn’t take the +100 Magic hit.
wtf is the tornado shit that dahaka keeps throwing out? thats the only thing that kills me because i don’t see it coming and i can’t defend afterwards because it kills the leader of the party.
what is the name of that technique? maybe i can throw armor on her that can defend against 5% of it so i can at least cast a summon to renew the party.
