The Final Fantasy XIII series thread. Black people sold separately

Just beat it. I’m so tired.

Is there a limit of Pulse missions I can do before I have to continue the story? I was planning to finish a few more missions before I leave, I finished the first 3 so far.

Final Fantasy 13 is similar to Resident Evil 5. They’re both high quality games in their respective series yet lack the certain je ne sais quoi that made previous games so special.

Yeah. I think you can only do up to 29.

I still don’t get how you people have trouble beating this easy ass game =/

Maybe because they don’t abuse the game?

Not sure how people can rely on death to beat some missions, then call it easy…or the ones who just level themselves up as their only answer to beating an enemy (as opposed to changing strategy).

Not saying you’re like that but most people that say a game is easy, just abuse it in unreasonable ways that probably wasn’t intended anyway.

FF13 to me, is the hardest FF so far, if you play it “properly”.

Right now I’m in chapter 12, and have accumulated a large amount of CP from Chapter 11 but purposely haven’t used it except on the minor roles (like say, Lightning’s Sentinel) so that I wouldn’t be overpowered.

I’m mostly referring to the story fights only. I really didn’t have trouble at all except for some cheap shots here and there (chapter 9 destructo) Really everything was easy and the last boss was a joke (especially the Eidolon fights). The only “abusing” I did was paradigm cancel all the time.

Oh yeah I got the Genji Glove too; decided to fight the 2 Rajiktavas and while I used a messy paradigm list I managed to beat their asses in the end  I 4-starred it to boot, but I’ll try again when I get the Gold Watch.
I just need another 1 mil. CP or so to fully upgrade my characters last Role =3

Did you upgrade weapons? Is your team balanced? Do you have ‘Combat Clinic’ set up? Are you making good use of a sentinel?

You’re doing something fundamentally wrong…I’m not saying that to be snarky. It just sounds like right off, you don’t apply the Pardigm tactics with the kind of rapid authority you should have by this stage in the game.

@Pakman- I suggest starting off battles as Syn+Syn+Sab or Rav+Com+Sab.
I went into this area without any 3rd tier weapons and decent accessories and it wasn’t all that hard. Of course I had maxed out my current cyrstariums at the time so…
Anyways what you want to ensure is that the enemy is hit by Imperil and Deshell and Deprotect, after that just keep attacking that one enemy and when it is down, take on the others.
This area wasn’t so hard (in fact I was kinda surprised it wasn’t) and I even managed to 5 star all bosses before the last one

The Theory

At the end of disc one, Squall and Friends face Edea on a parade float in Deling City. After the fight, when Edea seems defeated, she conjures an enormous ice shard and propels it through Squall?s chest. Squall stumbles back and falls off the platform. He sees Rinoa above, reaching to him as he falls. Squall closes his eyes and dies. The entire remaining game time, from the beginning of disc two to the second half of the ending movie, is a dream.
		**A dream?**

Uh huh. A dream, a fantasy, a vision, or whatever you want to call it. The ?dream? is basically an extension of the ?your life flashes before your eyes? concept. The entire dream takes only a matter of seconds, but for Squall is passes in real time. For Squall, it?s about the endless possibilities he could have seen realized. Squall explores the questions that were raised on the first disc but he was not able to answer in his lifetime. These questions include, but are not limited to:
Who is the Sorceress Edea? What are her goals and motivation? Where do her powers come from? Why was Seifer in the parade with Edea when he was reported executed? Who was the girl (Ellone) that Squall and Quistis saw in the Garden training center? Who is Laguna and why did Squall, Selphie, and Zell all have the same dream about him? And, most importantly, who is Squall? Who were his parents? Why did they leave him at the orphanage? Where does he come from, and what would he have done with his life had he not died?

That fight is stupid. I retried twice and turned off the PS3 cause I got so annoyed.

Uh what? Good theory, wrong thread.

But not completely wrong. It wrinkled my brain enough to want to post it here.

Just for the record, fuck Orphan. It was a bitch ass nigga. I had a maxed out ultima weapon, maxed out gospel for Fang , and all my characters’ three main crystariums maxed out and he still was hard. Had to make Fang the leader and had to pray he didn’t do that instant death shit in order to beat him.

Also summon’s wouldn’t be so bad if you actually got to keep the stagger meter build up they cause. Thats fucking bullshit that it resets when they leave.

I heard if you just leave the summon out and never gestalt mode, whatever chain %age you’ve built stays.

I’ve ploughed through majority of this game’s bosses and I grinded like I have never done before but this chapter annoyed the hell out of me.

You’re probably right. It’s most likely a paradigm thing. But I was so stresed out yesterday at these bs mobs (who debuff your ass every 20 seconds) I just couldn’t think straight.

I went back to eden hall for some grinding last night and saved it there. I’ll give Orphan another go and switch my team around. I’ve been using light, sazh and either vanille or fang - maybe I’ll try hope and/or use the paradigm set-ups you guys suggested.

Thanks all for the feedback!

lol, figures. You get the most chain bonus from the gestalt mode.

I just 5-starred it an hour ago XD
How I did was-
Star with Sab+Syn+Syn and try to inflict Slow and Imperil on one of them.
After that attack the one that got Imperiled and Slowed until it staggers. Use Com+Rav+Sab (Sahz learns Slow and Imperil as a Sab) or Com+Rav+Rav on one of them until it is staggered then lay the smack down on it.
I had Kain’s Lance on Fang and had her as my sab in the first paradigm I posted, then Com for the rest of the battle. I got the Stagger gauge to naer 600&, and it’s health low enough to kill it with Highwind.
Now all you have left is the other one, when it’s staggered I suggest going COMx3 on it, which is how I finished it off.
Easy Peast =3

Well I now have the remaining missions to find and 5-star (5-starred everything so far :smokin: )-
51, 63 & 64. Gonna go read up on where to find them.
Oh and I just maxed out all my characters; only took me 90 hours :lovin: Dunno if I wanna spend time trying to get cash to upgrade my main weapons though.
Oh and I managed to kill the smaller blue turtle

I’m not 100% certain on this, and I can’t test it because I’ve already sold my game, but I’m fairly sure that if you let the gauge deplete without hitting square then you still enter Gesalt mode, but with only 3-4 points.

So, I don’t know if this will be helpful to anyone, but I found it to be interesting.

When leveling a weapon, extra XP you put on past when the weapon goes ‘*’ is lost. For example, if you take Lionheart and do the 36 Barbed Tails and then 99 Super Conductors, then use the Transformation catalyst you’ll get something like a Level 15 version of the next item evolution.

However, if you do 36 Barbed Tails and then the minimum 31 Super Conductors followed by the Transformation catalyst, you’ll still get a Level 15 version of the next item evolution. The remainder is lost.
