Use Snow as leader(AI spams vendetta…which is useless in this fight, so you have to control him yourself) , manually spam steelguard and he won’t take any damage from the small guys. Two medics can keep up with the debuff & healing, then you chip his hp away whenever there is a gap. But seriously it takes forever and not worth it, death spam and call it a fight.
I started from FF1 NES, played every FF game except for FF3 and FF11 multiple times and I love this game. :arazz:
And as much as I like the classics, it will be very hard for me to go back and replay them after playing this one. The battle speed and the interaction in the battle in this game is too good and the grinding system is well balanced.
RPGs are mostly battles and grinding with some story development in between anyway.
What the hell do those guys wanted? The developers already explained why they streamlined the game in the earlier parts multiple times.
ouch, that’s bad news on the shao long gui’s. so do they just not have targetable legs at all or what?
if they have no legs i’ll prolly end up using sazh fang lightning and just plan on using blitz to rape it’s hp fast once i reach 999%… still gay as hell. oh, have you noticed a increase in plat drops on the harder versions? cause i don’t give 2 fucks about traps anymore, it’s actually a disapointment when they drop instead of a platinum ingot
edit: in regards to neochu’s overall strength, i think your pretty accurate, i place him above yiazmat (he was just a test of endurance anyways, not like there was much threat of death in that fight, only challenge was putting the full 2+ hours into killing him, fuck you could save during the fight and come back later lol).
however omega mark12 was much stronger than neochu, you basically were FORCED to spam reverse to cheese your way to victory, it was impossible to live through his assault without it. where as at least with neochu if you wanted to spend a rediculously long time fighting him you could by spamming medigaurd (most boring fight ever though, sentinel class is made of fail in 13)
ive seen a vid where they take out those shao long guis within a minute or 2 :/, looks risky but im gonna try that lol, and yeah about that damn gigantuar, that guy is just plain dumb but not as dumb as neochu -_-
Shao Long Guis don’t have legs to chop down at all. It likes to use Bay and Ultima often and only Ultima has enough delay to give you time to quickly switch to the Tortoise Paradigm. You can cast debuffs on it like slow which will make it a much more manageable fight.
My party consists of Fang, Light, and Hope, each equipped with maxed ultimate weapons from Taming Pole, Lionheart, and Vidohunir. They also are equipped with maxed General Belts and Witch’s Bracelets.
Still, being able to knock it down the oretoise’s legs makes a big difference, at least it does for me. The Long Gui stays down for a bit longer than Adamantoises.
The drop rate for plat ingots from Long Guis is still 25% so your better off hunting Adamantoises if you only want ingots.
Shao Long Guis on the other hand have a 5% chance of dropping dark matter.
I just watched that video and I know what I’m missing: En(insert element) buff, which adds a lot more damage when the Shao Long Gui is imperiled. I also need to use Paradigms that have both Fang and Light on offense while Hope heals, and Hope’s healing ability is quite beastly.
well that’s annoying, so i would need to farm shao long’s and could never drop them onto the ground… much more difficult. but i do want free dark matter for accessory upgrading…

i will try the method out myself and then post what you need to do. i want to say that those methods don’t work and you just need to upgrade something to max and then dismantle it to get sprint shoes but lemme check.

If you played the game and see flaws that’s cool, but for a guy who didn’t find it worth his money or whatever to complain about character development, battle system, etc. is just plain dumb. Like RC said, people are in here for a reason, because people generally like the game. I’m what you called a “true FF fan.” IV was my first FF, VI is my favorite and I’ve played them all except for X-2 and 11. And I think FF 13 is a good game
Also, how useful are chocobos on a world map where you only have 1 area you can really go to? Land being a blob on the map doesn’t mean it isn’t linear, especially if you can only go to one place. Few NPC’s? yeah, but what did the old ones say? “Oh no the princess has been taken.” “I like eggs” “I hear flan have high physical defense” ?? they almost always same some bland generic shit just to give them something to say anyway.

upgrade tetradic tiara to tetradic crown. max out the crown then dismantle it to get sprint shoes.
do NOT upgrade a tetradic crown that was not a tiara because you’ll just get hermes sandals which you will mean that need a catalyst to upgrade to sprint shoes.
i just tried this method by taking a tetradic tiara lvl 1 and upgrading it to a maxed out tetradic crown before dismantling it, so i know that it works.
i also wanted to see what would happen if i just upgraded a tetradic crown since i had one i found somewhere. this did not work.
also, note: if you max out sprint shoes but you don’t upgrade them to nimbletoe boots then haste will last 7-10 seconds longer, supposedly.
and i edited the post on that page where i quoted somebody else about obtaining sprint shoes because that info was wrong. it was for the japanese version…they took that bug out so we don’t have to do all of that to get sprint shoes.
