Thanks dude. Appreciate it.
Sorry, feel free to keep posting.
It just seems to be that way whenever I read your posts. That and I’m a bit bitter due to some unforeseen circumstances that happened yesterday. :<
Long live Blitz… and Sazh.
I need help in killing the 3 Tonberries; 1 or 2 I can handle but 3 at the same time?
Also any tips for beating Raktijiva?
I 5 star them like this.
Sab them with all the status effects they can be affected with and them spam Death on them, with the usual Rav/Rav, Rav/Com combo as support.
Death won’t work as in 1 hit KO for the most part but with all status inflictions, Death will score big damage on them. Also, they won’t even move much at all. Heal when neccesary but the key thing here is sab them.
Guaranteed to finish them in like 3 minutes.
the next time they have missions, they might want to fix the map so that it doesn’t turn every time the character turns. like cieth stones and their corresponding missions are already way the fuck away from each other…now the map has to add difficulty in finding cieth stone locations and marks.
all i want is a genji glove. shit. they need to bring back stealing from enemies. i’d rather do that.
amen on that map thing yo… amen. pisses me off so much that i have to look for landmarks on the map to orient myself. how fucking hard is north, east, south, west. staticly oriented maps are a standard for a fucking reason damnit!
k, since mission 62 isn’t happening right now…how do i unlock mission 63?? what is the prerequisite?
thats doable. mission 62 is complete bullshit.
When is a good time to start with weapon/accessory modding? I’m on chap 7 and I only got a couple of things up to level 2 just to see how it works, but I mostly ignore it. Should I just leave it alone til I get to chap 13?
Chapter 11 if you’re planning to do the missions. Chapter 13 if you’re gonna do the missions post game.
I was just like you when i got to chapter 7. Im just about to start chapter 11 and i still havent touched in terms of upgrade any of my weapons yet. I hope to begin working on them now since i can now find some good grinding enemies in gran pulse. But ya at chapter 7 you cant do much in term of upgrading weapons. It takes tonnes of money and good components to upgrade your weapons EFFICIENTLY. So dont worry about it much.
Also, in chapter 7 Hopes place is a ok place to farm incentive chips from the inceptors and then trade in for cash. But I didnt spent much time here cuz it wasnt worth my wild.
Hmm, that’s a good strategy, oddly enough I used it to try and defeat Rajikta XD, well it worked but I couldn’t 5-star the battle, so I’ll try again after beating all the other missions and after grinding.
here’s some links I found on missions:
complete list, with maps showing the stones, and gives brief summary on what you should attempt to do: http://www.gamesradar.com/f/final-fantasy-xiii-cieth-stone-missions-guide/a-2010031011391394090
another complete list that shows stone location, mark’s location, and gives video’s for 5-star rating, but doesn’t really give any strats: http://twobrothersandasister.com/?p=6455
i know alot of people are wondering where to grind cp and gil and most solutions have been given. here’s another suggestion: Mission 24 after you start chapter 11 gives 6000 cp and 6000 gil. the mark is right next to the stone so you can keep repeating it without having to walk a far distance. here is a youtube
Man, this map is fucking retarded.
Yeah I didn’t realize how dumb it was until chapter 11, where it would have been useful. But rotating map? impossible to remember where things are most of the time.
What I really hate is that even when you complete the missions you still see the goddamn stones in the map so you never know what you completed or not. It’s really retarded. As retarded as the game not saving your paradigms.
I am digging this game, but what has been made readily apparent to me by this release, a game like Mass Effect 2, Darksiders, etc, is that since the teams are so big, I seriously doubt they play their own games all the way through to see how cohesive everything is. For instance, in the first 10 chapters the map was pretty much irrelevant, so the fact that it moves doesn’t make a shit bit of difference. Now that I’m on chapter 11, I’m getting all kinds of fucked up just trying to move around. ME2 has these horrible sections where you have to scan planets for resources. It’s cool at first, but when you’ve had to do it 200 times over the course of 15 hours to get upgrades, it makes you want to kill yourself. Darksiders isn’t very cohesive at all because the world is too big for no reason. They even added that stupid horse for one section of the game and then made an achievement for riding it around for 100 miles. There’s like 3 places in the game where you can ride that fucking thing.
I could go on, but games lately all seem to suffer from this shit. If the game is compartmentalized, it’s fine, but when you play it as a whole, small flaws become HUGE ones. Seems like they could avoid this kind of thing if they put some effort into it.
The stones glow slightly if you haven’t finished the mission yet. It’s still a retarded design, though.
no, i know where the stone is located and i have already defeated adamantoises (and adamanchaleid and adamantortoises)…
but mission 63’s stone is not activated at the location its in. there has to be some sort of prerequisite that makes the stone rise from the ground and shine so that i can activate the mission.
i’ve already 5 starred each of the turtles (with the exception of the blue ones).
thx for your help, tho. any other suggestions?
that cie’the stone activates after your first trip through the fault warrens.
oh, and i was reading last night that long gui have a higher drop rate on plat/trap… and since my characters are basically maxed out by now i’m thinking of trying it. oh and that ff13.info sight had links to vids of the turtles getting killed in like 2 minutes flat without summons or -sols, and honestly it didn’t look nearly as bad as i thought. basically their strat was to go in with sen syn med to buff up at the start and survive the opening stomp, then switch to rav rav rav to stagger 1 leg, then to med med med (cause the turtle hits HARD), then over to rav rav rav again to stagger the other leg, from there 1 use of highwind per leg drops the turtle and it’s just a quick stint in relentless assault and the turtle’s died…
so yeah, no having to use vanille (btw… wtf is up with her main eidolon attack featuring a young chick, riding on top of a tentacle monster and screaming like she is having her O… followed by her contentedly resting in said tentacle monsters arms with a satisfied look on her face… seriously SE?)
edit: for the guy complaining about stones staying up on the map making it difficult to see which missions you have completed, when looking at your map just press the x button, a full list of the mark missions will come up and as you scroll through it the map will position itself over the starting cie’the stone. and the unfinished missions will not have a check mark next to them.
