The Final Fantasy XIII series thread. Black people sold separately

I have the US version. I just remember seeing that description for the boomerang somewhere when I was trying to find out what it did. Thanks for the info

Sazh isn’t much slower than Light to me. He can get the same effects she can with Lionheart by using some kind of sash, scarf, and sprint shoes. His blitz has no movement time so he can shoot and start charging that ATB bar again instantly. His normal attack is slow, but I basically never use it.

His main advantages are that the attack values he can reach with Rigels are way higher than Lionheart- I think they cap at around 1000 for both str and mag. The other is that he is a natural synergist so you can manually choose which buffs you receive and in what order i.e. buff while Hope heals the tank.

Fang was just a weaker tank to me. Light and Snow can get attack that’s good enough to help out on staggers while having more versatile roles.

I agree Vanille sucks though.

What’s so hard about Neochu that requires you to use Death? Never fought him yet.

He’s Japanese, not American. Lololol, sorry. Just had to do it.

He targets your leader at the beginning of the round and his five little gremlins are like the female PSICOM soldiers, non-stop attacking. If you kill the gremlins first, he summons five again. If you decide to ignore them and focus on Neochu, you got to deal with Neo’s AoE attack that does like 8000 w/mitigated by protect and his attacks WHILE being pestered by little fluffs of death.

For me, if I tried to melee him instead of using Death, after 75000 or so damage, he uses his AoE and I die.

So I’m about 4 hours in and this game just seems like I’m playing the role of a manager. What happened to actually controlling characters?

Yeah I started to see some flaws in the story line as it went on. But I dunno alot of the final fantasies had their moments in the storyline. But, oh well! Hopefully XIII versus improves upon that aspect.

Nojima is writing Versus. So my expectations are high.

Just beat the game. No comments about it though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Working on getting five stars on the missions I didn’t get them on. Then from there, start doing the rest. While maxing the crystarium, maxing weapons and accessories, finding all items, and overall working on the platinum trophy.

Ugh, that chapter 9 boss was rough.

So any easy way to beat the rest of this?

I tried again last night with your advice, the only exception being I also fully upgraded my weapons. I couldn’t believe how easily I defeated him. I have to give credit to Hope for his quick syn/med attacks, but Fang and Light just completely destroyed this boss. I seriously couldn’t believe how fast his HP went down. If I had known this I would have fully upgraded my weapons a long time ago, it does make a big difference.

I have to say though, what kind of new game is that? You start out after the final battle? How about actually giving you a new game+ option to actually play the entire game with everything you own? Shame really.

Rush that shit down.

When have you ever actually controlled the characters in Final Fantasy game, rather than telling them what to do?

The Rigels give a much higher Chain Boost than Lionheart. Rigels give a Chain Boost increase; Lionheart gives you the ability to fill the last tiny section of the bar automatically (read the description of the weapon).

This makes me feel even dumber. I panicked the fuck out when I saw Light trying to tank and fang trying to heal. I was like “NOOOOO”

Oh well, today it’s time to try to kill those siren park thinks and make ultimate weapons. If I get Fangs first that means I can get 3 more ultimate weapon rocks when I dismantle it.

lol, that’s usually said as a major thanks, I don’t mean any offense, but just thanking you for the info =3

…and I didn’t foget about the little guys when If ought Neochu XD

OK guys I’m at the final boss and i need help in
beating his 2nd form; the family one.
I’ve totally maxed out all my crystariums BTW. Should I ditch Random Instant Chain for defensive boosts?
I see some have answered my question so I’ll take note of that but any additional help would be appreciated.
the one that casts doom on you?

just use rav/rav/com and get his stagger bar up. com/rav/com crushes this boss once the stagger bar is full. its pretty easy. heal if necessary but there’s nothing to worry about here. if you got through the first form then you should kill the second form REALLY easily.[/details]

Finally beat Neochu. Only been trying for maybe 30 minutes, but I died a fuck ton. I managed to kill him once, but even though I summoned I was still over taken afterward (those bitches have a good amount of HP). I invested some money and upgraded my Belladonna wand into a Malboro wand, which has improved debilitation 2. Then I killed it again the very next fight, but this time I managed to do more damage with the summon and just did 2 medics + commando to finish off the rest (wanted to play it safe).

Also, I read about a new CP grinding spot online and I tried it out and it works out really well

Go to mah’habara - dusktide grottonear the end of the area (just past the room with the juggernauts) at the beginning of a tunnel you will see 3x cryohedron which net you 7140cp in like 5 seconds. Walking further down the tunnel you fight 3x rust puddings and a cryohedron which takes maybe 5-10 seconds depending on how they move (clumping together = faster fights) getting 11200cp. You can run from one to the other in maybe 10 seconds. 20-30 seconds for just over 18,000cp. Simple ass fights too. I put triple com and everyone blitzes their way through fights. All this CP is assuming you have the growth egg, and the times may vary depending on your characters, but for me it’s awesome.

Also, the guy who posted this claims to have gotten 500,000cp in 30 minutes.

I know that, I’m just saying that I’ve heard of that little “major thanks” comment before in a movie. I just can’t figure out what.

How do you people have trouble get killed by last boss if you have maxed out crystarium?

ugh… traps and platinum ingots are a lie…

so beat the game, grinded up to cap my main 3 jobs grids… and now i’m in eden farming adamantoise and after 20 or 30 kills so far i have 2 platinum ingots and 0 traps to show for it… and that’s with both a collectors and a connesuire catalog going. at this point i’m actually losing gil by farming these because i have to use a fortisol each time…

is there any more reliable strategies that don’t require fortisol and a summon? and is there any better place to get traps than leviathon plaza in eden? cause so far this is pissing me off.

oh and for the sake of testing the 1 vs. 3 collectors catalog issue, i only have 1 character with one.

I just beat the game :lovin: I had gathered a total of 999999 CP for everyone but Fang by the final battle XD. Now to grind some more, finish some missions, see if I can level up some weapons and then beat the game again…this time hopefully I’ll get 5-stars for the final battle XD
Ending was OK IMO
a happy ending…would’ve been happier if Nabaat didn’t die ;.;
