Collector’s Catalogs don’t stack. 
Any tips for the final boss, first form?
I can’t deal with his status changes even with 3 medics, let alone heal up in time over and over for his all powerful attack that comes pretty much out of nowhere.
Chapter 12 and the final boss fight in chapter 13 plus the ending make this game well worth thr wait. I’ll post a full review later But this game definitely has cons. It definitely has flaws but no deal breakers IMHO. Some of the bosses and regular enemies are complete bullshit for various reasons that I’ll point out later but when u beat the game and get through the last boss you’ll understand why I flip flopped all through my playthrough. I’ll explain in my next post. I need to finish eating breakfast.
Light/hope/fang. You need to have med/syn/sab. You should have med/med/sab top IMHO. If you don’t have a syn and a sab on your team I don’t think the fight is doable before post game.
Where did people get this information from. Everyone says it, but I’ve never seen an explanation. I know they don’t stack if you put multiple on one character, but they should stack if they are on different characters.
But how do I defeat him if I have med/syn/sab? I need to deal some sort of damage that isn’t poison right?
By the way, I had that order, but had to switch to med/med/med a lot of the time, especially because of all his status changes he gives you.
I got it from reading the official guide.
It says “The effect is not cumulative, so equipping four Catalogs of the same type is no more effective than equipping one.” This tells me that the effect does not stack when four are placed on one character (you can’t have 4 members). It says nothing about the effect not stacking when on different characters.
How many levels for Stage 10 are there?
Ultracompact reactors are wasted on tier 1 weapons since they only need ~50k exp. Using one reactor gets you only 40k, using it on x1.5, x1.75, x2, etc is also wasted because you get way too much. Particle accelerators on the other hand are perfect at x3, I forget how many you’ll need exactly, but aboutfive of them will get you in or around 51k exp.
As for the best place to get bomb cores, mission #7 like Spoony said. Bitutius(sp?) is so easy and it’s cie’th stone is conveniently nearby too. I you have collector’s catalog or connoisseur’s catalog equipped, Bitutius(sp?) drops Tetradic Crown(common/critical: tetradefense) and tetradic tiara(rare/auto-tetradefense) which when fully upgraded can be dismantled for Hermes’ Sandals(critical: haste) and Sprint Shoes(auto-haste) respectively.
I see, good point. I’d like to run a experiment with battling a foe 100 times with a Catalog on one person versus 3 Catalogs equipped throughout the party to measure drop rates, but I’m at work right now.
That’s why you farm Bomb Cores for the first rank (or just use the other components you’ve found. Still no reason to waste the gil.
Well, there are 10. One for each Stage 1-10. But there is only one Stage 10 area, per job, on the Crystal. I stated it that way because I wanted to point out that it is 750,000 per job on the last stage of the crystal.

Ok I am on chapter 9 and I am upgrading my weapons to beat this son of a bitch boss that puts doom on me. I am looking for the best weapons for lightning hope and fang because that is the party I use. I was thinking Lionheart for lightning of course for the all around stats and good abilities. Next I was thinking for hope either hawkeye or Otshirvani I like the magic on hope i see no need for str on him and wasnt sure if aspir abilities was worth the downgrade in magic. Next is fang and i am not sure. I saw that Rooks requested pandora spear but I was thinking taming pole for the greats stats is there something about taming pole or pandora spear I am missing?
Sadly, I still think weapon/accessory upgrade is worthless until post-game. I never touched anything until then to be honest. I also beat most bosses without many problems, at worse I would die once cause of bullshit because this game is a troll fest. I ripped through chapter 10 bosses easy too. I can’t stress enough that I did no grinding at all.
After not playing all week due to midterms and essays, I finally got to play Friday night and all day yesterday (yay for spring break). Got into Chapter 11 and got all 3 of everyone’s main jobs maxed on the crystarium, (with a couple hundred thousand cp saved) Did 17ish missions. Really loving the game, oh and after leveling up on the Behemoth + giant wolf thing fight a lot I finally upgraded some weapons, wow what a difference. I just need a Trapezohedron to get Fang’s weapon to the final form, and I upgraded Hope (Ninurta) and Sahz’s (Vega) weapon, but they’re more temporary since I’m waiting for their weapons from Chapter 13. Antares for Sahz (chain bonus) and Otshirvani for Hope. Though eventually I will level up all their weapons for the trophy. Can’t wait to get home from work tonight.
Loving the game so far, but I had to chime in because I’m at chap 7 and all I could think was.

U need to inflict status ailments on the boss while healing and buffing yourself. Then switch to rav/rav/com and get the stagger bar almost up then switch to med/med/sab or syn and continue healing thn switch to com/rav/com to destroy him. I beat it mad fast with that set up. He won’t be able to out do u on casting ailments if you’re buffed and he’s not. Are all your main roles maxed?
Hope should know haste…
Are u even using hope fan and lightning? They can’t do med/med/med unless u make fang a med which is a waste of cp at that point IMHO. Use lightning/hope/fang.

No, that isn’t my team, but I did have med/syn/sab and it just wasn’t enough, and yeah, my main roles are all maxed out for everyone.
Thanks for the tips though, but I’m not even sure I want to give it another try. This game has left me really frustrated.
Try it. Fang is the strongest character in the game and lightning should be almost at her stength or over it depending on accesories and her weapon. Have u upgraded anything? Do u have sprint shoes?a power glove? My fang and hope had auto shell and auto protect and light has auto haste for example.
Rav/rav/com which will stagger, into com/rav/com with status ailments already on the boss plus buffs on you equal a dead boss.
Hope has the highest magic stat in the game. Only thing you’d have to worry about is instant death. Just try it.
