Yup if you dismantle a Star level Scavenger something Accesory it gives you 5 shrouds.
You could always go fighting and getting 0-star ratings for fights with the Survivalist’s Catalog equipped.

i just finished farming dinosaurs for traps…i’m done with grinding until post game. there has got to be an easier way to get items that should be sold in the store. what is the full name/exact name of the item that i can level up and dismantle to receive shrouds…in particular aegisols and fortisols.
is it champions badge? level that up to survivalist’s catalog? is that it??
Just found out you could use shrouds for boss fights… 
lol, it made chap 9 boss way easy.
i’ve used shrouds for every boss fight from chapter 9 onward, iirc.
truthfully, i think that some of the regular monsters require shrouds unless you feel like using boss battle tactics against them, which i do not.
the juggernauts, two behemoths, (at the time) the imp creatures that summon behemoths, iirc the box phalanx lookalike, um…etc. etc. like fuck all that. the game is mad tedious in chapter 10 and 11 and they wanna throw mobs with those kind of tactics? i’m good.
i don’t know if i have to worry about not having any (or having one of each) by the end of the game but i’d rather be safe than sorry. my lightning has over 7k hp and omega weapon at level 77, fang has like 7 or 8k hp and vanille has over 7k hp as well but still. hp means shit in this game during boss fights.
and the shroud that gives tp is useless IMHO other than to farm traps. and the other shroud used to get around enemies…useless. i have a ton of those. wish i could exchange them for what i want.
FF13 is just crazy. That shit that happend @ the end of chapter 9 had me like wtf!!!
Stuck @ work day dreaming about going home and finally playing the game again. about to finish up chapter 10 I see everybody here is way past me…lol.

You know I wish this game had the screen capture function like tekken 6. I swear some of the visuals i wish i could make ps3 backgrounds.

i like the battle system for the most part…preemptive striking has its points (and is needed in a lot of cases in the late chapters) but its more satisfying to know i defeated the enemy regularly tho. bosses are another story, tho. i wish i could preemptive strike every boss from chapter 9 on.

so…after complaining about not having shrouds (which i had one of each except for having a ton of the shroud that lets you walk around enemies) i defeated the boss and got the store that lets you buy them, lol.
you get it at the beginning of chapter 13, after you defeat the boss of chapter 12. they’re expensive but i only need one for each boss or forced battle in chapter 13 (in case i can’t beat it the first time around). chapter 12’s boss was intense but i beat it without using any shrouds…then again my characters are maxed out in their main roles.
an epic conclusion to an epic chapter. chapter 12 has to go down in one of final fantasy’s greatest moments, IMO.
Got the growth egg yesterday. I was hoping the final boss was that big monster you can see walking around in tbe background that ate a giant turtle like it was nothing.

i fucked his first form up easy peazy but the second form had all the lame status debuffs that i can’t remove cause he’ll just keep recasting them. what should i do about the debuffs? i don’t care too much for the big ass attack he does cause i don’t think that can kill since it does damage based on a percentage of HP (correct me if i’m wrong on this). also i started farming adamantoise with death spamming. is there an easier way to regain TP quick other than ethersols? i’d like to keep fighting adamantoises without having to fight stuff after that to get my TP back.
I believe the giant monster is Titan. You don’t fight him.
That is stupid. I totally thought he was going to be the final monster. Now I don’t even want to fight it.

so…i’m at bart III. please God let the final boss be directly after him. let me be able to save first tho, lol.
but yeah…i hate this guy. one major flaw with this game is that certain bosses are seen over and over and over. and where are the REALLY cool looking enemies? there were about 10 and thats being generous. they have enough space for it…lord knows they used all of their resources on the last two chapters…oh well, great game overall.

Make sure you have a synergist with you to buff everybody up, this also helps counterbuffing against the boss. Also have 2 Medics with you with at least Esuna so incase if the boss is dropping too many debuff just clear them out with Esuna. Saboteur is also great against this boss, makes the fight a bit faster. About that big damage attack, yes its damage is based on a percentage it will drop everybody’s hp to 1. Its pretty easy to tell when hes about to do it since he will mention some kind of name (forgot what was it called) before executing. Beware of the boss’ instant kill that shit is fucking cheap, if hit hits your main then its gg.

you have to fight bart plus ophan every time you want to fight the last boss??? you can’t just skip to orphan after defeating bart-meaning you can’t defeat bart, save and then face orphan?

There’s 3 final bosses. After the first two, there’s a ton of story, and then the last one. I died on the last boss simply because I wasn’t offensive enough, and I just had to skip like 8 cutscenes, then I got to fight it again
