The Final Fantasy Thread 2.0 | FFXV: OUT NOW! It Really Did Exist

IX? ewww…

I wanna play VII again

Ima play some X,X-2 again.

X-2 was hot garbage, you bash IX but play that shit?

I know opinions are opinions but…

I just like looking at the transformations really

I just look at a few and then put it away =D

they’re purtyfull!

I actually really liked X-2.

The story was hot garbage. Yes.

But everything else was pretty good.

The voice acting was awesome.
The dialog for the game was AMAZING. I have never 'ed so much at an RPG’s dialog that much with out it being corny/stupid as fuck. It was legit and funny.
I loved the battle system. Very smooth. And the combo system was neat.
ALL the job classes were very well picked and placed through out the game. Even thoug Alchemist and Mascot were both broken as fuck. All the classes filled some role through out the game and getting 100% on it.

90% of the story WAS minigames, but the disguised it very well. So kudos for that.

But yeah, like Kayin said. Story = Hot Garbage. Everything else was good.

-SH

i liked completing a lot of things in it

I used to be hot shit at some of those minigames. but I stopped playing for a while and I totally suck!

Final Fantasy X’s blitzball shoulda been a 2 player game
Same with FFX-2’s coin game.

I was fucking gdlk at blitzball.

The Al Bhed were so broken.

I think my final team (no order) was Tidus, Blappa, Nedus, Keepa (Not used for goalie lol), Basik Ronso and I can’t remember the last dude. He had 99 ATK though. He was beast.

But each person had a 99 stat some where. All Key Techs…etc…etc…

More ranting on why I liked X-2.

jecht shot 2 was broken

I’m gonna go ahead and agree w/ this.

Stunning 3 characters and plus IiRC 10 SH was pretty beastly.

FFVIII Card Game though > Any FF Minigame EVER

-SH

I agree with this man 100%.

Truth, I loved how it actually had some relevance to the game in addition to being fun to play itself.

FFVIII Card Game, Irvine, ANY Cut Scene involving Quistis (HAWT), Laguna, Brothers Summon, Tonberry Summon, Moomba’s, Squalls Hair/Jacket (Not Squall himself mind you) and it’s OST = Only reasons to play VIII. Other than that. Everything is hot garbage.

Kayin Comment Edit: Yeah. I liked that aspect about it too. It helped you get 100 Holy Wars and 100 Pulse Ammo, best skills for your GFs and get all the best magic like Triple, Aura, Ultima…etc…

-SH

Whatever did you need 100 Pulse Ammo for?

Unless it’s just for kicks, which is great. XD

AP Ammo is marginally better than Pulse, I believe (can squeeze one extra shot) and Fast Ammo obliterates it (assuming high STR + Meltdown combo).

Meltdown is so top tier.

And yeah AP Armor is alittle better. Fast/AP/Pulse in ammo tiers. Either way… Irvine = Best character in VIII.

I am addicted to games like Final Fantasy Tactics. Can anyone recommend any other games like it? I’ve played the following:
Disgaea series
Ogre Battle
FFT-A
Vandal Hearts

^ Vanguard Bandits.

Best Tactic RPG ever.

Crazy Quickness Edit: There is a thread for suggesting/praising/flaming games on here. From now on take it there.

Your post was somewhat FF related…but it comes off as trying to hijack a thread…we frown apon this so…with that said: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=58024

Enjoy

What exactly do you like about it?

Disgaea series (and any other Nippon Ichi series) is known for gratuitious amounts of leveling, and stat based focus. Even items can level up. There is a modicum of strategy if you limit your levels, but otherwise it’s all about THE POWAH!

I’m unfamiliar with Ogre Battle, but I heard it’s the same team that worked on FFT? Should be similar enough.

FFT-A is a very light, very simple version of FFT, with a completely different mood. I like it, but it’s not really all that awesome.

Other strat RPGs…

Try Fire Emblem? Pretty hard, though simple gameplay. Punishes mistakes with PERMANENT DEATH.

Also try Suikoden Tactics? The basic gameplay is similar to FFT, with less of a skill based focus, but introduces terrain based focus where elemental grounds can severely affect power levels and whether it is OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAND or not.

Sorry I’m not trying to hijack the thread, it’s just that I felt those who have played through FFT might know games like it.

Well FFT had alot going for it: gameplay, storyline, music, and it was fairly challenging (minus Orlandu/PLin/Excalibur + Choas Blade dupe). I just found it difficult to find other quality turn-based strategy games after beating it for like the 4th time.

I’m trying to get ahold of Suikoden Tactics but no luck atm.

^ I know. I have no issues with it, personally as long as it doesn’t go rather than a few posts. I’m just saying OTHER people might see it as such. So I was just trying to help prevent neg bombardment.

But like I mentioned, Vanguard Bandits is a must play TRPG. And IiRC, Phantom Brave is a TRPG as well.
