The Final Fantasy Thread 2.0 | FFXV: OUT NOW! It Really Did Exist

Well, it was an opinion. =P I can’t think of anything worse I’ve personally played…

At present, people are whoring out the expansion areas in tp-burn parties using WARs, or people with /NIN, sometimes other classes. BLMs were being “phased out” of popularity, last I’d heard.

About the linkshell… that’s a VERY BIG IF. Yeah, there’s tons to do, but it doesn’t matter if everyone’s just out to play you, using you for what you can/can’t do to meet their own goals, never yours. A lot of the recent updates were “too little, too late” however, since a lot of the people moved on; but new ones took their place, so in the long run, that’s all that matters to SE.

'Bout the only thing I really enjoyed was Dynamis. Controlled chaos in a limited time setting, with decent item drops (not decent item drop rates, though), and a bunch of people all fighting for their lives. That and doing random help for people who were actually appreciative.

Septimus: Completed Dynamis weapons vary server to server. I know that at least on the server I was on, 5+ or so were finished by the time I quit: one of my LS’ leaders finished the Sword. Knights Of Round was kinda meh, but it was funny watching a RDM outdamage other people.

Im currently playing FF5 advance… What a great (and HARD/Challenging game) IMHO. VERY underrated, im enjoying it more than 4 and 6…

So in this play through of XII I want to try and get the perfect file… If you don’t understand the defenition of a perfect file, max stats, all weapon/armour, Magic/Technik/Gambit, all key item/battle item, complete beastiary, complete sub quests etc… What I’m wondering is, what are the crucial points during the story (or even clan hunts for that matter) where items or events that lead to items become available, that can’t be obtained by other means? You could say all the missbles…

That being said i’ve read the missables guide on GFAQs but it’s not very well organised at all. I’m currently about to enter Lhusu Mines and am aware that there’s is 14 bottles of whine you can find in Bhugerba, can they only be obtained at this point of the game?

Any input is apreciated, also any FAQs you think I should check out would be awesome aswell…

You can go back for everything (even Zodiac Spear if you’re nuts), but it will drive you insane. Some of the rare breeds are nearly impossible to spawn, and their drops are even worse (I got Yagyu Darkblade, but I gave the fuck up on Danjuro).

If you were picking up every single chest (or jar, whatever it is) than you better restart your game. There are very specific chests you should not pick up in order to get the Zodiac Spear…getting it the other way is very hard.

The Missables FAQ is not very well written. It doesn’t explain where in the storyline those things occur. I’m trying to remember…the bottles of Bujerba I think can be done the moment you get there but I really forgot since it’s such an insignificant sidequest. You only get like, 10000+ Gil from it.

There’s a chest that has a 10% chance of showing up in the Henne Mines that has a 10% chance of holding a Zodiac Spear, so you don’t necessarily have to start over. It’s not even that great of a weapon, anyway (Tournesol and Masamune are better).

Don’t worry, I’ve got the Zodiac Spear covered. All the chests that shouldn’t have been opened have been left, all there is to leave is the 16 at Phon Coast.

In the missables FAQ there are items that are suposedly “missable.” Some examples I’m looking at are Slime Oil (footracing?), The Bhujerban Madhu Liquer, the badges, loads… There seems to be quite a lot that should be focused on when going through the game, although the FAQ it’s self is very vague. There’s no real guide specifically for what I want so it’s going to be a challenge. As long as I get through the story without missing key items, then the rest should be a lot simpler from there.

Any insight is apreciated…

Stealing’s turning out great for me, I chained the skeletons in the mines to around 85 and it made me 20,000 Gil and 5 Iron Helms. Also a chest dropped Killer Bow aswell which was a right bonus…

So does anyone know anything about FFXIII? I was looking at this picture and I’m not sure what to think about the battle system… Do you only get one character? I can’t see much room for other character’s information on the hood.

That screenshot really does look more like an interactive movie than anything else.

In other news, I got my hands on FFXII. So… if no one hears from me until December or so, you know why.

Slime Oil is stealable from Orthros, so don’t kill him until you get the number that you want.

Meh, I highly doubt the final HUD will resemble that at all, since that is very old. They will probably just change it up to fit at least two more characters, since a Final Fantasy where you don’t get a is not a Final Fantasy. I just recently picked up Dirge of Cerberus for $10, and, why did I find myself enjoying it a lot more then I thought I would? Maybe I set my expectations soooo low because of the horrible reviews that anything would be better then I expected. Who knows.

Does FFVII save as “Disc 2” before the disc change like it does on FFVIII? It’s been so long since I played it, I can’t remember…

didn’t think that this thread still existed…
anyway, i’ve been playing through ffVII again, after about 10 years. the game isn’t as good as i remember it being; its just really long…i still think that its better than VI, though, although VI was dope. if V didn’t have job classes i’d say the experience is better than VII…

i just didn’t care for level grinding in V.

Dynamis weapons can run you nearly up to 70 Mill in Gill. Very expensive, very tough to get the proper coins from the mobs. The new updates make sam a hell of alot better, along with the expansions, leveling doesn’t take 5 hours, you can gain about 400 exp in a chain with certain equipment, also the prices on equipment dropped alot due to the ban of gill sellers. I’m on Titan if anyone plays.

Are you up to disc 2 yet? Did it save as disc 2 on your file before the actual disc change screen?

playing FFIII advance at the moment. picked up my save file for FFX again, God I hate having to race for tidus ultimate weapon. anyone got any advice for avoiding bird, I got the weapon before but that was about 4 years ago and took me about 4 hours.

Oh and FF4 looks awsome!!

Can anybody explain how to beat Ozma in FF9’s chocobo garden? I had to give all my characters cheap shadow armor/acc just to survive doomsday. It knows flare techs and has that annoying curse that screws up my party members, this thing is tough ugh.

There is no save before the next disc.

I know why you are asking this and there is a way to make it work if you google hard enough.

I don’t think anything will ever top VI-IX for me.

i’m on the third disc, but yes, actually, it offers to save your game before you switch discs.

(and i’m playing on the psx version on the computer if you’re wondering…)

and yes i own the game (mods/admins). i just don’t have the first disc or a modded psx to play a burned first disc.

i agree, except i’d add parasite eve, brave fencer musashi, chrono trigger and super mario rpg: legend of the seven stars to that list.
