Theres just a couple of new scenes in it right?
there goes another one…:shake:
oh no! its too late!!!:amazed:
Hm well I only played the original NES version, so correct me if I’m wrong but iirc PS1 version is basically only the visual/audio enhancement whereas GBA/PSP ones are rebalanced editions. By rebalance they took out some of the ways where you can lvl up easier and deleveling was gone. It’s less challenging
Thank you!! Went premium again just so I could rep you.
Been in love with this track since that first trailer–thought it was Nobuo Uematsu but I think its by Masashi Hamauzu. They are suppose to be doing the soundtrack together i think but all i know is this track is way too epic for a battle theme.
Im gonna get in crazy battles just to hear the music all the time.
I have a level 75 Dark Knight, the game was only fun when playing with friends, after that it’s just a silly, slow grindfest that never ends. Good story though, if you can find a group of high level players to take you through it. It’s just outclassed by pretty much any MMO out in the market today, I think.
Lol, nice, I had that one-month trial thingie that my cousin gave me, I in one night for a few hours, I grinded all the way to lvl 20. Next day, I got up to lvl 30, switched my job to I forgot what it was, but once I got to lvl 20 or 25, w/e I forgot, I switched over to become a Samurai.
I seriously wanted to become a DK however I heard they wouldn’t get a whole lot of love in parties because usually DK’s are required. I guess Samurai’s aren’t too far from that either, I don’t know, just what I was being told. My cousin has a lvl 75 Samurai and Paladin as well plus he was playing since it first came out…well, stopped here and there.
However, I guess I missed it, when FFXI first came out, I was told it was incredibly fun due to tons of people, and yes indeed, the storyline for XI is absolutely incredible, one of the best and most interesting for any mmorpg, usually I don’t even remember the storyline for an mmo, however for XI’s it was too good to forget.
Anyhow, my only negative feedback on that game, was the creation mode…like when you create your character, the model looks Top-Tier, then all of a sudden you go in-game and your wtf happened to his/her?!
GG though.
FF2 is the one people love to hate (well, beside FF8), probably because it was designed by the game producer people love to hate, Akitoshi Kawazu. His games, aside from having everything so seeped in randomness from learning attacks to gaining stats, are also virtually devoid of any deep characterization and linear storytelling. Some people like his stuff, others absolutely hate it. Basically it comes down to if you’re just in it for the fun or if you hold your RPGs up to some high standard in presentation and story. If you’re one of those people that thought Legend of Mana was one of the “good” Mana games, that Unlimited Saga was “kooky and fun” despite it playing more like monopoly than Final Fantasy, and FF2 was a nice departure from the norm, you’re of the former. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of FF2, but I respect the fact that it’s at least one of the hardest FFs made.
Yeah, Hamauzu is doing the music for the game, and I think Uematsu is just composing the main theme, which might be that piano piece we hear on the official site. I can already tell this soundtrack is going to be awesome.
haha, quit your hating.
i find it more enjoyable than wow.i do have some IRL buddies to play with, just looking for my srk brothers if anyone is interested.
FF11 and 12 are pretty much the same engine. If you like 12 (which most people dont) you may dig 11. I am legally required to post in any thread where ff11 is mentioned.
Also, their are a bunch of ways to level without a party so dont let that scare you.
See, that sounds more like what FF12 should’ve been. At least then, the characters could be somewhat unique. The licence board is a joke.
About the FF13 battle music: it wouldn’t surprise me if it was composed by Masashi Hamauzu. People have slept on him since SaGa Frontier 2, and he’s only now getting some recognition that he deserved since that time.
Well I still have my character I just don’t really play anymore, but what’s your server?
Speaking of VIII, I loved the character designs, they looked incredible, and imo, Squall to this day is the coolest looking male protagonist while the underrated Quistis is arguably the most beautiful or at least Top-3 best looking FF female characters of all time in my book. Anyhow, the storyline bored me to death, I’m serious when I say it was the first FF game in which I played, that I actually fell asleep on.
I liked it alot that love was the main focal point, however the way they did it to me just wasn’t well done at all. Also, I was never a huge fan of sitting there and absorbing magic spells from mobs…that got really tedious at times. To me, VIII had alot of potential, and it was cool in some points, but horrible in others for example who’s bright idea was it to have 20394823904823908402398 sorcerers?
I thought Squall was something many post FF6 characters are not: believable. I wish he’d get transplanted into a better game.
You can say this about FF games from VI and pre-dating that as well, this isn’t a thing that only revolved between Post-VI. I agree with you on Squall being in a better game, just irritating how the storyline flowed in VIII.
A FF thread and I didn’t saw it, LOL!
FF13 is shaping so far to be nice. It has some elements of X-2 in the battles (which is good as X-2 high point was that it is the best incarnation of ATB bar none, great battles, camera views in battles and gameplay) and some Xenogears mixed up as well with the combo system. Hopefully the “Sphere Grid” system won’t be as cumbersome as FF10 since I hated that feature with a passion.
I’m watching the demos and trailers and I’m actually hyped for a FF game and I haven’t been hyped for one since FF9.
Curious thing, it seems FF13 follows the same mold as FF7 as in it starts in a big futuristic metropolis, then goes out to the world map. It seems that way from trailers.
Anyway, I’m hyped.
i used to play ff11. i got a lvl 75 sam with like every of the sub jobs sam needs to 37. sam/dnc is fucking good with the tright gear and sam/rng. to be honest i liek ff11 better then any mmorpg. the bosses r 20 times better the wow.wow got boring really quick. i think i might even come back to play ff11.might bring back my account this week.
Oddly enough, I tried to do much the same thing, but it just didn’t seem to work too well. I tried to make Vaan a jack, Penelo a white mage, Basche a tank/fighter, Balthier a status effect/long range guy, and Fran a black mage, but it just didn’t work too well. There really isn’t that much to spend LP on for most “classes” other than wizards, so pretty quickly everyone was using white magic to restore themselves, everyone had some black magic, Basche was doing only slightly more physical damage than other characters, and Penello/Fran were only doing slightly better in magic than everyone else.
This actually sounds pretty cool…I’ll check it out if a get a chance.
Sounds like you’re playing one of the handheld versions of the game, which, unfortunately I know nothing about. I’m a big FFIV fan, so I wish I could help you, but I dunno. Sorry!
By the way, people will call me crazy…but I actually liked Chrono Cross…at the time it came out anyway. I think it was mostly the soundtrack that did me in…
As for FF games this are my favs from best to worst.
FF9
FF4
FF7
FF6
FF12
FF10-2
FF1
FF5
FF10
FF8
FF2
I never had the chance to play FF3 and FF11 is not truly a real FF IMO.
I always had a troubling dilemma. Who is the best lancer in FF history?
There is the original in Ricard, then Kain, Cid, Freya and Kihmari. I have a 3 way tie between Kain, Cid and Kihmari. All 3 of them are awesome.
Seems like FF13 has 3 classes and an undecided one so far. Lightning = Fighter, Snow = HtH , Sahz = Gunner and Vanille who I have no idea what she is but my guess would be some kind of mage. Please, don’t let her be a blue mage, please.
And we all know there will never be a cooler blue mage than Kihmari.
Wait, what is the international version?
I think Chrono Cross is so underrated it’s not even funny. I know it’s blasphemy to say that here, but god DAMN, I loved that game.
