How is this exciting again? I’ll just wait for some gameplay footage before I get excited. Sure the CG looks nice(Blizzard’s is still far better), but this seems to me like it’s following a formula to a damn science. All characters look like characters already in the series(seriously, that blond dude IS Seifer…). Versus XIII seems a lot more interesting because it uses a lot more realistic character’s, which is VERY different from the super-homo designs that Nomura usually comes out with.
Those two new trailers are… a little disappointing. A bunch of disjointed scenes with little coherent tie-together, no dialog, and lots of pretty pretty people. Bleh. Show me more gameplay.
I really don’t give a shit about FF13 or versus. Mainly because it seems to have a certain Kingdom Hearts vibe to it and after playing about a few hours of KH2, I put it down. Like I said before FFX turned me off pretty harshly and all of this FF13 and versus shit coming out which is just an inch by inch cocktease is leaving me more than flaccid, I’m putting on my pants and leaving the money on the dresser. I’m sure I’ll play it eventually but all this horseshit is getting on my nerves. WE KNOW IT’S THERE, WE KNOW IT’S COMING. But treating the propaganda for this like some sort of youtube fanvid compilation or some sort of mysterious reveal where at least fucking FF7’s preview vid had a beginning middle and end (unlike FF13s just all middle and anuses) is just rubbing me the wrong way. It’s like they are having monkeys editing the videos.

Agreed. I don’t want this game to be anything like FFX or the KH series. I also don’t like the videos out there, the GAMEPLAY is what I want to see. If I want to see a movie, I’ll go see one.

I grew up in a time wehere graphics weren’t really an issue, so it isn’t really a selling feature to me.

sorry guys, this is what the FF series is now. i’ve always been on the fence about it, cause i liked KH2 and i despised FF12, but as much as the sky is blue, its final fantasy and ill probly waste money on it.
In the Versus 13 video, when the schoolgirl whipped out that magic sword I thought I was watching Dead Fantasy all over again. What a piece of shit. I seriously laughed. OH NOEZ THE SCHOOLGIRL IS THE BAD GUY.

They should have just canceled XIII altogether and made Versus into the main entry.
Haha yeah, Versus looks WAY more interesting, if only because the stuff they showed about XIII looks like such an insult in how stupid it is. I can’t say this enough, but Nomura ruined Square. He royally fucked them. Either that or it’s his apparent legion of fans that will flock to his garbage as soon as they see spikey hair, an all girl cast and lots and lots of belts and zippers. /zomg
Anyways, with that out of the way, I don’t think Square will ever top something like FFIX ever again. That and XII were the last FF games I really liked playing, and this is why I play MegaTen games WAY more then FF now, even though it used to be the complete opposite before.
Damn the KH and FFX hate is strong here.
I watched both videos and thought they were interesting. Just waiting to see some gameplay footage at this point but at least its something.

I’m talking with how things look mainly(we haven’t seen much of anything else), and he is designing characters in XIII right? If he’s not then my bad. I think they both look bad, Versus just seems more interesting regardless of who’s doing it.
I’ll probably get Versus XIII, but not XIII. I’m not a big fan of the main char being a girl. Not to mention she looks like a guy. The main char in Versus looks pretty badass though. Reminds me of Cloud. No more Homo Tidus/Vaan.
