Anyway, on my own train of thought, my favorite characters from the FF series are Kuja, Seifer and Garnet. I found both Kuja and Seifer intriguing antagonists and Garnet was by far my favorite heroine.
Of course there are scores of other good characters like the sexy Beatrix and Selphie and the badaass Auron.
So, is Denzel Cloud and Tifa’s child, or what?
They adopted him. AC is only two years after the original game. Kids don’t grow that fast.
The relationship between Cloud and Tifa is rather strange, given that they adopted.
Actually, he’s Cloud’s adopted son. He just sees Tifa as a mother figure since Cloud lives with her and Barret.
Official novelization of the events leading up to FFVII say so.
It is strange, that’s for sure. Cloud and Tifa will never get together but at the same time it looks like they’re more than friends. Mainly because of Aerith, Cloud got “ruined” for anyone after that.

I really enjoyed the GAMBIT system in FFXII. It’s like being able to write your own AI for your team. I don’t see how anyone can confuse this with elements of an action game, the strategy involved is unparalleled - unless you choose not to use it. It reminds me of the old “Ogre Battle” game for SNES/PS2; you create your team out of units which have predefined actions, and you sit back and watch the battle play out; whether you win or lose the battle depended on the choices made before it began. As someone that did a little amateur programming in the 80’s (a lot of IF THEN DO); watching your victories in battle is like watching your code executing successfully - very gratifying.
That would be the highlight for me, the story being just adequate. I’m probably 50% through the game, so I can’t exactly form a full opinion on it, but so far it’s been enjoyable. I’ve been a pretty big fan of the games since FF1 which I own for NES (+1000 nerd-cred points). Even though the story hasn’t really drawn me in like some of the other installments, the battle system is a huge breath of fresh air. I’m pleasantly surprised that they were able to (and had the balls to) improve on the dated battle system that has remained basically unchanged since 1987. I would say this is a must-have title for anyone still rocking a PS2.
Fave part about Gambit is that if anything goes wrong in your plan, you can override it at any time.
And that it stops me from doing redundant commands.

So I’ve been playing various FF’s in anticipation of Dissidia.
I started playing 2, but got seriously fucked, due to saving at the bottom of a dungeon and remembered the running from battle is damn near impossible. I didn’t want to start over after playing six hours, so I started playing 12 again. I forgot how much I loved this game!
I’m about ten hours in and can’t wait to play more. Even the woman that does Fran’s voice is hot.

12 is the shit. Story was meh but battle system, gambit system, and license system were all the shit. Full customization for the win. The limit breaks could have been a tad less craptacular.
I thought the limits had their uses. For example, against Zodiark, I would spam that shit to interrupt his spells and to do the most damage I could possibly do in one hit, since he kept switching his damn barriers.
Zodiark is the hardest boss in the game, I think. Maybe Omega is slightly harder.
Oh man, that the exact same joke we have about Fran and her voice. I honestly thought it was Bjork when I first heard her speak.

Noctis looks mad broken. That mofo is killing folks like this is Devil May Cry or something. If FFXIII and Versus XIII are really in “opposition” as some of the early stuff says, Lightning’s gonna get steamrolled.
