Too much of a niche, and wont be a big payoff. When you see CoD in its nth game every year rolling in the money, action sells
So I am on chapter 5 and so far I am enjoying it. If anything it is a lot more difficult than I first thought. So at first there was a lot of trial and error on my part. But now that I know how to maximize the usage of matches to keep me from having to waste bullets.
Now the biggest thing is figuring out what I should be leveling up (health, ammo, etc). Oh I just now figured out how to make bolts, so luckily I had so many parts from disarming bombs that I was able to load up on ammo.
All in all the game is good. Reminds me of RE4 with a Silent Hill type setting. I like the trippy aspect as well.
make sure you lvl up the critical rate on your guns (preferably the pistol/revolver)
those 1 headshot kills can very well be your saviour in tough situations.
this game disappoints me, graphically speaking
didn’t play much but camera is fucking weird. its shaking around more than necessary. I better not get motion sickness from it. gonna try some more tomorrow evening.
Just beat the long haired giant chick. I basically cheated and stood next to a body, so when she teleported I could burn her and the body, lol.
The cut scenes had me disappointed in the graphics, but in game looks pretty good, especially when you are in the area with the weird (but kinda hot) nurse. I think the whole trial and error aspect with this game was annoying me, but I am starting to get the hang of it. Those invisible things suck though. I know one area I didn’t even fight them, just wasn’t worth it.
TEW is the top selling game in the UK.
Them brits sure got good taste
I never did that :’(
Locked at 30fps on PC, no purchase. Any game that plays down to the Xbone on all platforms just to save money isn’t going to get my money.
I had the same problem with the camera in Resident Evil 6. The tilt effect fucks with your eyes
what the FUCK is this tilt bullshit doe?? and…why?
why can’t we have normal-ass games? just fucking normal.
yeah, if you just stand next a body, right when she appears you can burn it and she will catch fire.
Just beat that annoying ass dog thing. Took me forever to beat it. Now I am on the part where you have to find the three stone tabs.
Right now the flash bolt is saving me. Getting mass stealth kills and saving a lot of ammo because of it. Also the flash bolts are mad cheap to make
Only on chapter 3 and I’m enjoying the difficulty so far. It’s RE4s spiritual successor in every way.
So I just beat Evil Within. All in all I think it was a great game. Wasn’t the scariest game, but it felt more like if RE4 and Silent Hill had a baby. There were only a few spots that annoyed the shit out of me, and there was a weird glitch that caused me to save all my ammo from the dude with a safe on his head (mad lucky).
I am gonna do another play through for new game plus, then going for the harder difficulty next. I think this is how the other Resident Evils should have been, but I am happy we got a new game with a new story out of this. Honestly I would love to see a mode similar to Mercenaries mode.
I most definitely recommend playing the game a few times. There was some action, but it wasn’t the core focus. The action was used only when necessary, but otherwise it was a perfect blend of action, horror and some stealth.
I am only maybe halfway through the game but I really liked what I played. The long haired spider chick encounters were really tense, I liked them a lot. During the second encounter I completely ran out of matches so I had to use the furnaces and torches to kill her, it was incredibly tense.
Well the shitty Silent Hill HD collection froze on me for the 4th time, so I was thinking of picking this game up. Looking at reviews and some posts here, the game seems to still have some issues. If anyone is playing it on the PS3, I’d love to hear if the issues are bad enough to warrant waiting till it’s cheaper.
This game worth the 60$ price tag? I was gonna clear out my current horror games before picking this one up. And does it have a lot of replay value for upgrades and etc like RE4? Because if so I’ll probably cop when the price is a bit cheaper

It is and it isn’t worth the price. I finished the game on normal in 17hrs, which isn’t bad, but I think as far as extras go there is a bit to be desired. I am on my second play through now, and even though I have all the upgrades and stuff it is still pretty hard. I know on the hardest difficulty this game is going to be a bitch to complete, but I am up for the challenge.
I really would have loved it if they had some sort of mercenary mode type as well. Oh well, I am happy with the purchase though.
So this game is just re4.
All expectations are crushed.
I thought he was wanting to go back to his original way of developing games like og re.
The game is ok not survival horror though just the same 3rd person action shooter claiming to be.
It just conforms too much.

It most definitely has its action elements but the game really isn’t purely action (like RE 5/6). I went through two play throughs for the game, and I most definitely think there were some genuine creepy moments (that weird area with all those fucked up traps). I liked how you had to actually conserve ammo, there really was never a time when I felt OP (second playthrough sure). I like RE 1-3, but those controls were pure slop, and RE 4 was a great transition into the keeping it RE but brining it into the modern era.
But like I said I did two play throughs and I am pretty much done with the game. I wish it was a bit longer (17 hrs isn’t bad) and maybe had some more range as far as areas and what not, but all in all it is a pretty good game.
