Hey guys, got a question (scoured the thread, and did not see this):

Corner, exmgb > ducking upper > sweep > ducking upper > sweep > mgb

I saw Kuroda land this, now, is this char specific? (it was on a Makoto player, K.O. I think)

I can land stuff like exmgb to mk ducking upper to super/sweep no problem, I have had some success with tacking on a lp mgb in some cases. Am I delving into serious char specific stuff at this point? What strength of mgb/ducking should I be using for the secondary follow ups? Light? Or stick with Medium?

link the video of that

:wtf:

^

maybe if the last hit of ex mgb hit anti-air (he didn’t say it started with s.hk!), and makoto was high enough to only connect the second hit of the ducking upper, he might be able to get one more sweep. but even then, the second sweep should be impossible.

I will check it again tonight, it was on the Kuroda DVD, 1st disc VS KO, It is possible that I made a mistake there, not 100% sure, will confirm. (I KNOW there is a second sweep after, thats what made my brain explode, but it may not be a ducking upper one of the times…)

“Corner, exmgb > ducking upper > sweep > ducking upper > sweep > mgb”

-i’m 100% sure you meant to say “jab mgb” where you said “ducking upper” and that you meant to say “ducking upper” where you said “mgb”

and this would make it a real combo

OoooOO hopefully this combo is real.

That would be awesome!

Interesting…

Thank you for clearing that up.

…Seriously? I knew this was gunna happen.

You know this information is right on the first page of this thread and I’m sure you could’ve easily deducted that you just switched the names by looking at the combos. I don’t really think you really “scoured” anything.
If you want a real Makoto only combo with sexy points do this midscreen: ex mgb/cr. hk > lp mgb > cr. hk > dash hp jet uppercut.

I really did!

I just failed miserably… sorry. :frowning:

And I have been trying that exact combo as of late! I love the range on Duds cr.hk in this game, gdlk.

I have noticed what seems like a complete avoidance for jumping hk from several “top” Dudley players (from what footage I have seen anyways), obviously the damage from jumping hk, st hk, exmgb to whatever is MASSIVE, is it just not worth the risk of getting parried?

Obviously st.hk, st.hp, and cr.hp make for a devastating wall to get through, should I just focus on basing my gameplan around this and avoid the jump ins to exmgb altogether? (basing this off mostly Kuroda’s approach to Dudley)

Do you guys have any matchups where using this is a goto strat? (This is obviously an effective offensive tool in SSF4 (eeew I know), and that was my first experience with Dudley, I just have a hard time letting that attack pattern go I guess…)

I have used the Be A Wall strategy in a dudley mirror and I think it is worth using, especially when you have the life lead. I found s.mp (and sometimes c.mp) to work well with that strategy.

Agreed.

I also do this strategy against Hugo’s and I get positive results.

Unless they can parry very well, then I just pressure. XP

I don’t use cr.hp as a poke in any matchup besides against Urien. And as far as not jumping in goes, Dudley’s is so good that you’d be kinda crazy to not go for it even against characters that may have solid answers for it. However, I’m not saying jump-in like a monkey to get your offense started. Learn when and how to mix up his jump-ins.
