call me a noob for asking but despite the 2 primary things short meter and most inaccuracy, why is stungun ignored so much? it’s a great move and can lead to some serious damage
The biggest problem is how are you gonna land it?
i thought i wanted to tell alex players, that if they aren’t using low short, low jab as a usual mixup, it has benefits.
the CROUCHING jab can early anti air them (looks badass). then you can dash in for a mixup.
or if you did a low jab (doesn’t have to be on their wakeup/mixup game, can be anywhere on the screen) and you hit them on hit or block, standing forward is good to tap them out of a jump or move.
don’t forget to UOH over shoto low pokes to get in closer.
pressure them and second guess where they go. most players i’ve seen that watch me use stungun, they’ll jump back or they’ll dive in with a move, this is extremely common with shotos. usually when they jump back, they get just within perfect range to nail with a fierce stungun then heavy flash chop and then go either suplex or sleeper. when they jump in, just before they connect, do the short one and you’re just jumping above them to where you connect with it. and there’s always pressuring them with stun-heavy moves that lead you into stungun for free. i’ve got a high accuracy by doing this and it’s rarely failed me, and when i do fail, i’ve rarely gotten punished. plus, because of how i play, i can fill the bar quickly so i can do ex moves without a problem. but as it is, i seldomly do them. i know the EX moves are better, but i had to compensate my style to suit stungun and it’s worked out well so far. i guess i’m one of those few people that aren’t afraid to go against the flow of what everyone else does.
not again…jesus christ
you should all just go and die.
lol at even thinking about going for a sleeper over a german suplex. i stopped reading there and disreguarded his whole post from my in-brain alex book.
LOL. I like using the sleeper hold to kill someone. Nothing like taking the air out of em. When you come over tomorrow Magneto we can compare some Alex strategies. Alex is my secondary and I always like to improve him a bit. I can never get anywhere with him in tourneys though. I get too patterned and uncomfortable by tourney time.
I think it’s cause if you tap down or forward from too far, alex can’t really do much.
And we all known how much you like to guess.
Feint > EVERYOTHERIBUKIPLAYER
I want do say Flash Chop Sleeper Hold isn’t bad, but there are just too many qualifiers I’d have to add to that statement. For the most part, you’ll either use hp Flash Chop Powerbomb/German Suplex if you don’t have your opponent cornered, or hp Flash Chop, close mk EX or jab flash chop if you do have your opponent cornered. Sleeper has more range than both of those options, but I’m going to guess that sweep is better.
I had a motherfucker with a few pixels of life left mash out of Sleeper after the first hit into instantaneous Shippu reversal, NEVER AGAIN.
Thats the second best feeling ever nothing beats getting a headbutt to cancel someones super… and since its alex its as american as apple pie.
bullshit! You come out of choke with positive frames. I think like 2 or 3. I dun really know but I know you can’t be shippu’d after.
yeah most likely he just got hit by a lame ass random.
but you can even link super after a sleeper, full super in the corner (scaled to hell though)
Yeah I had those 3-4 frames, had them to go WHAT THE FUCK AFTER THE FIRST HIT that is.
Yeah, it sucks that you have to mash carefully at the end of Sleeper, as in, you have to slow down and watch for when Alex lets go.
I usually just do one quick mash and block. Unless I know what he’s gonna try afterwards.
For anyone that’s ever played marvel: kinda like when you wanna mash out of hyper grav tempest against magneto. Quick jiggle and mash and then block. I don’t understand the technicalities behind it, but I know it works like a mother fucker. Anyone that grabs me rarely gets more than 2 hits out of me.
marvel players can mash out of jump in stun combos.
I’m no great marvel player, but I get that a lot of the times too. Granted I’ll only get it if they didn’t knock down before attempting the jump in stun combo.
Ibuki? Well she’s not really a great threat against Alex if you think about it.
She reminds me of playing against Chun but without all the SAII kicks to the face. Just use caution when going against Ibuki.
For example she does alot of crossups and fakeouts…reminds me of Aruka…use powerbomb. Stun her quick and she should go down quickly.
