You are wrong. They all have the same things to say. If you read the thread then you will find out your opinion is the same as 500 others who mentioned stun gun. Whether you are trying to be sarcastic or not, it has already been done.
Hmm well what if u use Stun Gun for getting out of tight situations?
Say for example that Alex is cornered and parries an attack or Super Art, he uses the Stun Gun to get behind the opponent and counter them while they are recovering from their attack.
That doesn’t really happen too much. If you parried an attack or super art you would likely use that momentum to actually combo stun gun with the Flash chop.
Or a better option. You would parry, then do s.forward XX Boomerang, since that’s a much better super in the first place.
Going into frame data. Bear with me.
Okay, so the start-up for Stun Gun Headbutt is 27 frames (frame data sites are in the frame data thread in General Strategy). Assuming that you’ve parried and directly gone into Stun Gun (with the intention of landing behind your opponent), the opponent still has ample time to do something to stop you (including jab you out of your Stun Gun), unless of course, the attack done was something that has extremely long recovery, which any player worth their salt wouldn’t use against someone stocked with super.
Again, using Stun Gun is a joke. You do it if your opponent isn’t extremely skilled or if you’re dicking around. Boomerang’s benefits (or, to be completely honest, fewer misgivings) still make it the go-to choice.
shut up you fucking homo gay.

is it worth your entire supermeter to get out of the corner?
Oh well…that’s dead and gone so oh well.
Stun gun is not a complete joke, just a worthless super.
In a game that’s so super heavy, having a worthless super eventually leads to it being a complete joke.
You would need a very scrubby opponent to do that to…I only see you doing your stun gun first and then having like Chun-Li’s SAII go next so you can avoid it…but again Stun gun isn’t useful at all. Just poke, zone right, make good use of his powerbomb/ddt, stuff with standing HP…whatever it takes to get that stun bar up, you’ll have a SAII and your opponent is dizzy. So yeah stun gun is pretty worthless and Boomerang will add additional damage.
I would agree that Stun gun is funny to pull off when your opponent jumps back and attacks early because he/she is being careful, then pull stun gun and laugh at them while they are dizzy…but when most people refer stun gun is for like competitive situations and never really for fun. That’s the purpose of a combo exhibition.
Can’t argue with you there.
Parrying an attack does not guarantee that you can grab with the stun gun.
Average parry frame bonus: a piddly 5-6 for most attacks
Stungun startup: 27
Conclusion: don’t bother
No, really, your only chance is to try to incorporate MP flash chops into your game as much as possible and supercancel into stungun when they hit.
(PSSST you can combo into the mp chop from a cl.mk if your opponent’s stunned and crouched lol)
might as well super where you would attempt a parry
super what? the stun gun will still lose. Let’s say I know that the opponent is going to do a low strong and I decide to stun gun instead of parrying. My opponent will do his low strong, see me activate super and he’ll just jab,dp or dash out of it.
cr. strong is a slow ass move. You can try to time the jab but even that will take some effort. Unless of course you just mash it, then you will win.
Otherwise the super is gonna hit.
I think. I assumed we were talking about Oro’s cr. strong.
yeah, I don’t know where your assumption comes from but even Oro’s slowass cr.strong leaves him with enough of a frame advantage to:
a) dash
b) jab multiple times
c) lp uppercut (talk about owned)
Don’t get me started on what happens when you try to pull that shit on a character that’s actually popular like Ken.
Are you pulling all of this out of your ass?
First of all the assumption that it was Oro was a joke. I know stun gun isn’t a viable option, I also know that wake up super is a stupid idea, but I was trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
I do know though that Oro has an extremely difficult ass time beating out stun gun with jab because he has more of a horizontal jab like alex’s close jab. Most dp’s are grabbed by alex’s stun gun, but I wouldn’t really know about this one.
I’ll test is out later and make a video just to be sure, because this is the reason lots of good players don’t even post here anymore, because of people just playing out of a book instead of at their arcade. I’ll let you guys know.
As for Ken…
he could mash jab and hope it gets through, there’s no saying it’ll hit for sure. You see a stupid super like stun gun and you are too worried about actually getting grabbed by it that maybe your timing isn’t entirely precise because of the surprise of a super on wake up… It is likely Ken will win this little part though.
I’m not talking out of my ass, you are. I’ve been DP’d out of stungun by Oro, Dudley, Ken, everyone with a dp countless times, even Hugo can reversal with his LK Backbreaker, Alex usually can’t actually grab with his Knee Smash but he can escape with it.
You didn’t even say anything about the dash which is what anyone with a half-decent dash (ie almost everyone other than hugo) would use
You just assume people don’t play this game because they disagree with you. I’ve been playing this since it came out and probably been playing SF before you were born. Whether you realize it or not, you’re just rehashing a 5 year old debate.
Stun Gun is not worth the effort. After you finally luck your way into landing it your meter is gone and you cant do any serious damge. ugh. imo.
for the record though I’ve seen vids of Sanchez using Stungun recently (FFA?) and doing ok
