The Complete Alex Thread

^ not too reliable, but ex elbowslash or even rh slash can get you out too.

Cool…do what works for you.:wonder:

when i am ken vs. stungun I can usually wiff a low short (which im doing for meaty/sa3 pressure/ tick throw…it happens allot)somewhere near the time of activation and still jump straight up and short him or jump back and roundhouse him out of it. personally i think that super is trash cuz after I played against it enough I was never hit with it again. maybe its just not being used correctly against me.
how are you landing stun gun against ken? just waiting for a missed roundhouse??

I thought most characters can just do standing jab?

Sometimes, if the jab is mistimed, if you’re playing as Alex, you get the close jab which you normally see for tick setups…definitely not good anti-air.

Traps be damned–THERE’S ALWAYS A WAY OUT!

There many doors, but which one allows you to escape? And does it lock behind you?

Jab=master key. If there’s a set up that shuts down the Jab escape I’d love to see it.

fuck no.

stand strong xx air knee smash maybe or stand strong on its own. I can’t believe I have to post this every other page on this thread.

You don’t even have to time it that way. It’s almost free.

geez, I just read back two pages and man, is saisyou like the ultimate troll or what? He can’t be serious with about a lot of the stuff he posts.

Mustard? fuck no…fucking yeah a been ready to fuck, my suite sooo tight…but I’m the Jugganaut bitchhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…

Hey does anyone know any good tactics with Alex when fighting against Ibuki? Ive been having some trouble fighting against her mostly because of her speed:shake:. F.MP seems 2 stop most of her cross up in the air but she still can dash behind me and her B.MK beats out my standing MK. When in close combat her combo strings give me a hard time  any tips on how 2 stop her rush down?

dash under her when she jumps. If she’s near you on a jump in use down fierce. It beast out out a lot of her attacks. Then once you’ve used that, just mix up your anti airs with toward strong bait a parry on your stand strong and cancel into air knee smash. bait two parries with your stand strong and instead of air knee smash do strong/fierce flash chop to get the turn around on their landing. If she does kunais a lot, use your down fierce to beat them out, sometimes your toward strongs and stand strong will beat em out unless she does more ex kunais. In which case go back to cr. Fierce.

there might be a neater way of andling the whole ibuki situation but there are really only like three ibukis that warrant that much attention in the states and if you’re new to the game you’ll have trouble against those specific players regardless of what tactics you use.

Man, your advice is awsome.

I could say and give all the specific punishes with Alex vs Ibuki, but I had grown bored with american players responses to information in concern to fighting games. The Japanese will always be the best, not because american players are not good or talented but because they choose to make their own rules and information bases insted of conceding to the fact that without Japanese information your play skill will take you but so far and you will finaly hit a preformance ceiling.

I am out of here…

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA he sounds so serious about this. So the Japanese Mind can grasp the idea of the game a lot better? How do you come to a conclusion like that? lol Last Evo I went up against a japanese Yun and beat him out of the tournament, or were you just talking about the 8 or 9 top japanese players that we all know?

I think the guys name was itachi or itayo or something.

I as an american player have not made any information bases or rules in relation to this game at all. I’ve read a few posts here or there, looked at the strategy guide a bit, watched some jap matches on youtube and gone out and actually tried these tactics on the top players here. Top players who usually put up a fight against the japanese even if it’s near fruitfless. Top plyers like Vic, Pyrolee, Amir, Gootecks and so on. Is it just because they haven’t stood up to your amazing prowess that they remain at the top of the ladder here in america?

Where do you play? I really want to play you now. If you’re as good as you say you are, how come I’ve never heard of you up until now? I like to think I’m pretty well informed about decent players in the states.

You forgot the part where Sanchez took you under his wing. :lovin:

Saisyu-I like the part where you get pissy about GOOD ADVICE! Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Post was not to you Sanchez. You are still cool with me. Just tired of pouring water into a bucket with a hole in the bottom of it. I forgive you.

Do not worry, I will make it lock behind me as there is no need to go back.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Saisyu Kusanagi: Believe it or not you are the typical American player dishing out random and biased info based on your play with a few of your friends. You should really think before you post. It seems like you are the one that is not open to ideas. Until you goto Japan and beat the Japs, we’ll have to stick to learning the Japanese way of playing. We’ll use their strategies, techniques, ideas and learn as much as we can from them. I’m sorry to hear you don’t want to learn from other cultures. That makes me sad but, I’m glad you’re outta here because you’ve been doing more harm than good. Seeya.

Now that the hijack is finally over, some actual discussion would be nice.

What to do against Oro or Remy? Turtling and run away tactics owns my alex. I keep switching to other characters

One final note, whatever gave you the idea that was ever using american source or giving american info biase? Ie: Book?

Your prespective is interesting. Peace.
