I had trouble with Remy, too. I found that the match up was just stupid hard until I got him backed into a corner. The problem is you’ll eat a lot of sonic booms getting there (either chip or missed parries) and it takes a while. Once you get him in the corner, work your way around the sonic booms until until you get in close. Once there keep up a good throw mix up and watch out for wake up flash kick. It’s not a spectacular tactic, but it’s what I do. I guess the main piece of advice is to be patient. It’s really easy to get frustrated because it’s easy for Remy to dominate the beginning of the match (at least in my experience), and Alex is pretty much working to get in. Once you get in you Alex can walk all over Remy.
you shouldnt really be parrying LOV’s if they arent mid screen or passed it.
and yeah jumping in mindlessly isnt really an option since remy’s zoning is pretty good.
usually what i try to do is inch forward and poke, make them fear the dash in throw, then later jump in. remember at the right distance you can just stomp, or if you’re fast enough EX stomp over those LOVs.
something i like to do is if they throw a LOV close to you if you’re backed in the corner you can try to super and it goes right through.
i’d say a safe thing to do is to stay out of throw range, but in powerbomb range, and block on their wakeup. if they EX flash kick, combo that ass, if they dont do anything, powerbomb it, or f+mp if you think they will jump.
don’t get hit.
I hate to be a paint in the ass with all these Q’s but lately I’ve been having trouble with Hugo… today for example I was on campus and got to play against this Hugo guy that moped the floor with me last semester, but to my surprise I beat him 3 matches in a row but then he started playing with me on wake up. He would keep me guessing between a D.MK or a D.HK always staying in neutral animation as I’m getting up so it’s hard for me to react until the last second and keeping just enough distance for my power bomb to wiff and my EX knee slam 2 miss :(. Also his J. HK sometimes trades with my D.HP. I know this guy isn’t that grate I can beat him no prob with my Urien by keeping my distance and Aegis but his wake up game limit’s my Alex once he gets knocked on his back. Oh and thanx a bunch for the ibuki help ;0
if you’re having trouble with hugo you should sharpen your mixups and pokes.
you can pretty much do anything you want, hugo has a few things he CAN do but he has to work a lot harder than you do.
f+fierce is good since it hits him on his crouch block (thanks umthrfkr) and s.mp also hits him on his crouch block so you dont need to be close to s.mp xx EX flash chop.
if you’re poking with him you can s.mk, charge for EX elbow dash and if he tries to poke walk back and make it whiff and punish with the EX elbow dash.
when you jump in you can mix up with very early j.hp, a little later j.hp, or a very late j.lp. from here, you can do a lot of things. you can powerbomb him (not recommended if he has gigas or gets used to it) you can c.lk xx mp flash chop and charge for EX elbow dash, or if they get used to it you can s.hp (the overhead punch)
after s.hp do s.mk or c.hk .
if he likes to mash after j.hp learn the timing for c.lp c.lp super, it works wonders, trust me.
air to air j.mp and j.hk beat hugo’s moves out really well.
jump in mk is also good at a distance, but no really need to since you can jump hk him too.
keep your distance when neutral with him (not hard to figure out) but at the same time keep active so he doesnt slowly corner you. by this i mean poke it up, jump in etc.
if hes doing backbreakers on you j.lp could work, but j.lk is excellent on beating it out.
if, for some reason, hes using SAII dont jump in on him much, even though i have seen a lot of normals beat out that super, i dunno it looks random or has strict angling, maybe someone can confirm.
one of my favorite things to use, but not abuse (like always in 3s) is s.hk on hugo because its cool :D.
Also you can DDT reversal 360 happy Hugos but this usually only works a few times.
It’s great fun though.
this is true. Make it so that you dash at them at exactly their moment of wake up and do the short DDT. DDT for some reason has you off the air by the time the motion is finished, so even if it looks like they can grab, they usually whiff. At least that’s my experience with it.
don’t rely on it too much though.

Great info on alex. As a avid alex user, alot of the people I run into want to use fireball/projectile guys to stay away. Nice to see so new movements to add to my list. Thanks…
lol i’m sorry, but locoghoul has one of the funniest banners i’ve ever seen. gs!
locoghoul is my cousin.
lol, you know i love you too Ty
I hate you.
So is it you me and vinny?
No, I have to work.
Ty is ancient Aramaic for Showtime Sanchez.
Hey guys. I usually only post in the Sean threads, but i use Alex just as much. I see some of the strats and I am starting to use them in my gameplay, but I need help with the Kara Flash chop i seen earlier in this thread. Also I use the SA3 the most, actually almost every time, i know a few ways to effectively use this super, but what are some ways you found effective, besides after an mp or hp chop?
Kara-Flash Chop isn’t really necessary, IMO.
Effective ways of using SA3. The most effective way, IMO…is not using it. Strong/Fierce Flash Chops and Slash Elbows aside, you’re banking on the opponent making a mistake/leaving an opening.
Of course, if you really want the SGH tips…Sanchez, this is your area.
I know one that involves the kara chop but it still isn’t very good because confirming the hit and cancelling it quick enough for the super to connect is pretty hard.
Use whatever set up you use to grab your opponent whether it be wake up or just during footsies after a dash, but try a Kara-Flash Chop, by way of st. Roundhouse, and they try to tech your grab, they will whiff and blammo.
It’s still a stupid set up though, but I’ve landed more than once.
i need oro strats!!! i getting killed by his unblockable is there a way to to aviod getting hit by oro ai hate that jive turkey
sanchez usually says something like parry down left right
i dunno. I just try to stay out of the air and tap forward a lot. They love that forward and that roundhouse. then follow up with a headbutt. I don’t play many oros though.
