Meaty, I think, for s.fierce. Verify for me, Sanchez?
And what happens if the opponent parries c.short? You eat damage. And then you do it all over again and hope they don’t parry, 'cause it’s a giant guessing game, anyway.

Actually, the ex elbow doesn’t scale the super down that much because it’s only one hit. And you should try to land a super anychance you get because Alex, unlike shotos, don’t have too many ways to land them. What are you gonna do with all that ex? Do random exs and hope they didn’t block? Dish out the free damage when they give you the chance.
I’m constantly burning EX, and the positioning is what I care about more. I can do more if I have more EX stocked than if I have to keep building it.
To each his own. It’s something I don’t use often, and most Alex play I’m used to doesn’t really use it.
One thing to note about the BRAIN CANCER PUNCH?(FP) against Shoto DPs is that Ken wakes up a BIT faster than the others. Just practice the timing and you’ll get it down soon enough.
BELIEVE IN THE BRAIN CANCER!
I will do on research crouching short kick into jab F-Chop.
Tested it out and that was the trouble I was running into. I never realized Ken does wake up a little faster but because of that I was just doing the fierce punch too late. Thanks for the info on that, now I shall go and strike fear and brain cancer into shotos :nunchuck:.
I’m not sure if this has been posted yet, but I recently found out that BRAIN CANCER PUNCH? will trade with Remy’s EX flash kick to Alex’s advantage.
I recently noticed that my only way to get to the opponent consists mainly of air moves.What is a good method to come through the long distance against charas that has fireball moves?
New alex player…
I can’t get cl. mk xx slash to combo wtf???
Which slash are you using? If I remember correctly it combos into an EX slash and a lp slash but not a mp or fp slash.
Dingo, he says slash, not flash. Does cl.mk combo into slash at all? I didn’t think it did.
As for flash, lp or EX flash only.
COMBO YES!= C.MK X LP CHOP/EX CHOP/EX SLASH/SA2
COMBO NO!= C.MK X EVERYTHING ELSE
And now we know!
Thank you
My bad. I guess I’m too used to refering to the slash just as an elbow. Anyway, disregard what I said then.
C.MK can’t combo.
C.MK = close MK, not crouching MK.
Thanks for clearing that up.
That’s right. Then you should definately edit what you’ve written in the #Chains section, Septimus.
The only time I’ve seen an Alex player use “The Dive” (during jump press down Fierce) was in the corner. He used it as an escape attempt. Otherwise this move is pretty useless… but it trades hits with Remy’s Flash Kick. I wouldn’t use it, though, as Remy has got several anti-air options.
Here’s a corner combo for Alex:
one hit cr.Fierce, s.Strong, EX Rising Knee (damage 45 on Ryu)
I’ve seen it used rarely in air to air situations just because it’s a bit (not much safer) in that situation. If you catch an opponent that is about to be stunned air to air and they are near the corner…you can follow up with ridiculous juggles. Even if they don’t get stunned you can do stuff like juggle with s.HK, EX flash chop if they are pushed near the corner. It’s just one of those things that I guess you just make a judgement call on if you see a pattern in the opponent’s game or you know you can take the punishment should you not get it to hit.
Jumping is a big part of Alex’s gameplay, especially vertical jumping but I guess those stun-juggles aren’t really important, unless their Makoto related. Alex does big damage off his BnB’s and he can apply very high pressure on opponents. His strategy isn’t as one-sided as Urien’s but I think that’s what makes Alex so fast-paced and terrifying-his mix-ups.
This video shows KSK doing “The Dive” in a match against KO at 01:24. Although this isn’t The Dive I had been looking for it’s yet very interesting. I think the reason for KSK to Dive was because he wanted to trade hits with Yun, as he had already been damaged by KO badly, or even to out-prioritize him with The Dive. This would confirm what you’ve said about its high priority in an air-to-air situation if given the opportunity.
