Oh and I forgot to mention the evidence in support of Abel being +1 on a blocked meaty overhead.
In training mode, Abel vs Abel
If the dummy performs the meaty overhead and immediately jumps afterward
and the player as Abel, after blocking the meaty overhead also jumps afterwards
The Abel whom performed the meaty overhead will be jumping slightly earlier.
Which only makes sense if he is at frame advantage
First thanks to splurgendii for using his time for solving my problem… again! Also, i am sorry (really sorry) for postin something wrong and giving wrong information. When i was recording the setup the overhead was hitting with perfect timing BUT , because i didnt take into consideration the super freeze, abel was already not blocking when the super (kens or ryus) hit him… stupid.
After testing it again blocking properly… abel can block in all the situations. I guess that at least its true that abel is never at -4 or at - frames if he use the overhead on wakeup, he is always at 0 or +1. So, if you use this on wakeup and the oponent blocks it, what should you do? Its okay to block high in stead of low so things like, for example, codys crouching light kick wiff to punis them in stead of blocking them? I havent tested, of course, all the normals and reversals in the game but for sure more of them wiff after the overhead if you blocked high. The problem whith that is that some long range low pokes would catch my if i dont block low… what do you think?
Also, if the frame data says that both active frames 5 and 6 can hit crouching oponents, why is abel always at +5 when you do the overhead agains a crouching oponent? I mean, so the 5 active frame can hit crouching oponents but for some reason it never hits them and is always the 6 one that hits them?
Anyway it seems that doing that overhead as a meaty is cheap: if they block low, hold up or stand thow (without blocking) the are going to get hit. Maybe counterhit (this one means dead) if they crouch tech/jab, press buttons while standing and blocking or doing a special move without invincibility. If they just block high you are at 0 or +1 and far from the oponent so if they press buttons you can punish with st.lk or step kick. And if they reversal with invincibility, back dash or focus back dash they escape. That makes sense?
Just updated the Abel guide a little.
New section placed just before the match-up portion titled, "Meaties & Combos after Mix-Ups Rolls"
There, Abel’s combo opportunities after knock downs against the whole roster is listed and flushed out.
Also, in the post before the one mentioned above, in the “miscellaneous” section, The toggle titled “important combo” has been revised and updated.
Please read and leave your thoughts, feelings or opinions

I didnt tested it myself but it feels wrong for me, in my experience, the TT knockdown always gives more frameadvantage. If I compare TT forwarddash lk, or mk roll. With FS backwarddash lk, or mk roll. It is much more easy to perform meaty attacks after the TT knockdown, with the FS knockdown, the timing is much stricter. Or are the dashes different in speed?

Hi guys… i wonder if u guys have some tips on Abel vs Viper matchup…???.. those burn kicks are like cammy’s Ex dive kicks on abel, can’t do anything…
Nice, been looking for a new trick do to at the corner. Apparently it’s just me but I always felt it was more worth it to me to end stepkick COD fadc cr.hp with wheel kick in the corner as I like keeping the corner pressure. It can be said that maybe the more ambiguous roll mixups at midscreen are worth it but yeh. This would be a good opportunity, matchup dependent, to do a cross-under into straight cr.hp x FS for the unblockable.

I’m also gonna work on the viper matchup soon. It’s either Abel or Gen vs viper, i don’t know what’s worse lol. But I hate doing Gen just cause a low health, low stun character vs. viper is not fun
^ Yeah… i mean viper can just go random all day over abel… u have to guess every burnkick… and his backdash is shit so u cant really fadc alot… not left with many options…
I’m hating the Viper matchup myself at the moment ever since Problem X made the switch to Viper. Actually preferred playing Seth which is something I never thought I would say. I don’t mind eating burn kicks since they do so little damage its dealing with the hp seismo cancel being hit and THROW invulnerable which is doing my sweed in.
