I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s ‘bad’ but it’s slightly in his favor because it’s easier for him to get momentum in the match then for her.
The thing with Gief is that he blows up everyone who can’t consistently keep him at a distance and who lacks a proper reversal and Kolin is one such character. Basically there’s not much Gief has to worry when he’s in and he dishes out way more damage than Kolin. On neutral it’s 50:50 but I think Gief gets more out of knockdowns which in turn slightly tilts the matchup in his favor. His new counter in the upcoming patch might also change the neutral because just like Kolin can V-Skill his HP, he’ll be able to counter her b.HK. Not sure but I think it might even be safe against her if he whiffs it at b.HK max range.
The Gief MU is winnable but I still feel it’s in Giefs favor. LK VS is aight but no throw Inv means a badly timed one can still get you scooped. You can’t really abuse the fake shit either because his grad range is huge.
Double Jump when used sparingly does fuck up his lariat.
That being said I love the Guile and Gief MU. I hate em but I love em lmao

why cant Kolin counter Bison’s teleporting devil’s reverse?
i know the bison is gonna teleport behind me. when he appears i do counter…nothing happens. i just cant counter his shit. game wont recognize my inputs. is it impossible!!!
Nah. Pretty sure you just input it too late. Try in training mode. And try to use EX

I can’t counter EX DR because the tracking on the move fucks the input up. A really easy telegraphed DR can be countered but much like Vega’s EX dive, you have to dash or micro walk back to catch it. The problem is that no Bison is dumb enough to let them get countered. I was fighting Crash and Burn and he abuses the fuck outa EX DR and I couldn’t counter him at all. The tracking is just too fucked up. I’ve seen Major Boy and other higher level Kolins just take the move and block because it’s just not worth the effort.
I’ve never thought about it but backdash -> V-Skill might work. Will give it a try next time I face a Bison. Backdash should get you in a position where he isn’t right on top of you anymore and V-Skill obviously blows up pretty much everything and makes her totally invincible until the end.
Nah, never mind the V-Skill idea, blocking is unfortunately still the best option.
I hope Kolin gets Hakan’s Ultra 2 in Season 3. I loved catching random Bison stomps with that in SFIV.
It’s unfortunate we have to hold that. Kolin being the beautiful Ice Queen she is, should never have to back dash.
When Bison does EX DR he should guide himself to her counter and then say “YES MY QUEEN FREEZE ME”.

She has new ones and they’re pretty cool. Some are useful and some are just fun and involve some creative combo extensions using hailstorm and Vanity Step.
I just checked it out, seems a couple of them are a bit hard, especially having to time the delay cancel right

This is baby mode tech but just incase someone is curious…
When Ed goes for a chip set up via charged hard punch into Super it’s not legit. If you don’t have VR or just don’t want to spend the bar you can VS counter the super. The timing is kind of strict and you can only do it after the “NO WHERE TO RUN” part.
This is kinda dumb. Not really ground breaking.
Kolin gains invincibility during her VS counter animation. This is good against Birdies that set can or bananas and zone with the chain while hiding behind them. You can VS the chain and Kolin will move over whatever object Birdie has on the ground.
At higher level play this is probably pointless but for all you lower level Kolin’s who get annoyed by chain spam here you go.

Why even use Light Parabellum in that scenario? Is it worth the extra damage? V-Trigger scales pretty heavily anyway.
if you notice i didnt have critical meter just yet. needed a parabellum to get just enough ex meter to get full CA meter. thats why i did it. if i had full meter i woulda just hit him with raw CA after the ice of course.
