I can safely say Kolin’s my new main.

Went back at it with Mika and Alex, but neither of which I have as much fun with as Kolin.
The reads are just too real with Kolin, and that’s what I enjoy most about SFV.

Gotta say, I like all of them more than the Nostalgia outfit. While I think it’s a cool idea to have it it’s so badly done (hair, textures, camera bug) that I’d even rather have that underboob thing.

The current battle outfit is okay I think. It’s different enough from her other costumes to make sense while most of those shown here are rather similar.

soooooo why can you only cancel the first two hits of light parabellum into super? god. so hard to hit confirm stand lk, lp para, super as a result. idk, correct me if im wrong but i can only ever get the super to come out on the first two hits. and i have no idea why this would be the case.

the best way to do it atm is just do lk, qcf lp, qcf and try and confirm off of the lk while buffering super. you have to do it really fast though

Use the initial qcf as your first qcf for the super, so just do super motion with two taps of the P button, that should work fine and make it 10x easier.

wait you’re trying to confirm st.lk xx l.para? why, it’s unsafe if it’s blocked anyway and it’s a pretty damn fast confirm to get consistent, buffer the second QCF regardless should make it manageable though

I am mainly wanting to learn it for use as a whiff punish tool though. so i dont think it matters much if it’s unsafe from distances like that. even max distance and at -4, you’re not going to be punished that hard unless maybe you’re fighting an akuma, necalli, chun or ibuki who is v trigger cancelling from jab or smth idk. (i doubt they could even reach you in most cases though) i think it’s a worthwhile confirm.

was mainly just wondering why on earth you can only cancel on the first two hits i wonder if thats intentional and if so, what is the reasoning behind it? could hardly be OP to be able to cancel later. hopefully it gets patched.

This has probably been explained before but can someone tell me how her V-Skill works exactly? Does it go into the full animation every time she gets hit during startup or do you have to get hit on a specific sweet spot that only lasts a frame or two? Reason for my question being that I’ve started using it as a punish against Gief’s Lariat (bait with fireball and if he does it, react with V-Skill) and while it does work most of the time I’ve had situations where I just get beaten by Lariat.

I’ve noticed that when you vtrigger into CA it sometimes sends your opponent flying across the screen after the first hit instead of going into the full animation.
Why is that?

The lariat might be coming out before the vskill is active or just after it is active.

I don’t, because I sometimes get Hailstorm instead of her CA.
It doesn’t really feel necessary.

In training mode I’ve tried doing her vtrigger from far away and close by, going into CA very early or very late. It always connects fully.
But in online matches it sometimes knocks opponents away. Makes me believe it’s a bug or something.

I’m not using it as a read but as a punish. But I guess there’s some instances where my spacing isn’t good enough and Kolin gets hit while launching forwards before the V-Skill becomes active. Might just go for cr.HK into whatever in the future, seems to be a more reliable punish unless you desperatly want some ice (which is pretty usefull in that matchup, all things considered).

You have to dash, it’s necessary. VT > dash (VT 3 hits) > CA
