Can’t we all just agree that CV as a series has really great music?
I hope its Metroidvania-like. I mean it can still become a great game without that type of format, but i’d feel as if the replay value the 2d ones had. I’d rather have my Castlevania well done with rare and odd weapon/armor drops, gothic spells, and an over-powered final boss
I’m hoping for more Castlevania III and Rondo of Blood-like. Be more like the classic games with branching paths. I think the Metroidvania formula needs to rest a while.

Alucard confirmed for the third protagonist for Mirrors of Fate.
Be like the classic games. Half of the charm of LOs was how much it payed respect to the old school stylings of the series. Give that Metroidvania shit a rest.
Looks like everything still takes a million hits to die. Looks good otherwise.
Love the way Trevor uses that whip.
Alucard!
Wait, wait, wait.
ALUUUUUUUUUUCAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD!!!
Ok that’s out of my system, hype process complete! Konami, you may haves my monies.
Seems like LOS gameplay just on a 2d plane. So it’ll probably focus on killing enemies to get past them rather than just avoiding them if you didn’t care for them.
Since the structure seems to be more stages than something like a metroidvania, I doubt we would see many movement skills, like flying or vertical jumps. Though I really hope there are jump kicks and slides. Those really add to the castlevania movement repertoire, since many people think they are not needed but they are useful for many situations and really do make you more mobile and make if more fun when sued correctly.
How in the HELL did they pull off that level and that cd quality music on a snes cart???
The SNES is boss status, so is Castlevania.
It’s natural.
A Rondo of Blood-styled Castlevania would’ve been good too. I’d still rather buy a Metroidvania game over this title. I’m feeling the look and the presentation of the ported mechanics, but I just don’t like how its trying to be like a console game, instead of a portable game. My opinion of course
I hope Trevor has Gabes whip buzzsaw move…gotta be my favorite move from LOS.
Movement skills will be character specific. On the live demo video, Dave Cox said that Trevor has the ability to double jump while Simon doesn’t.
I loved that move, I spammed the fuck out of it when possible lol.
I was just playing Castlevania 4 last night. Does anyone else besides me feel that the treasury level is a work of art?
Castlevania 4 is so awesome words are not good enough for it.
The fight with dracula in Super Castlevania IV was one of the best imo, though not the toughest by any means. At first you got that creepy ass music that starts up after you beat death, then when you drain him to 50% you get simons theme for the rest of the fight plus 16 bit lightning was awesome. I should try and beat my 41 min run of that game on snes soon. And yeah the treasure stage still looks pretty good.
Wasn’t it jump on them 255 times or something?
What?
