I might do that too. Replay chapters from early on to build up my skills. I mean that DLC really kicked my ass.
Doing a clean (no gliches or cheats) playthrough of Circle of the Moon. Was way easier than I remembered… at least until I got to the battle arena, then I instantly remembered why I sold it back in the day. I was hoping to get through on pure skill alone and not have to rely on grinding and farming for items.
Killed a bunch of lilliths and got up to level 60

Dear lord you are a bitter child. Lords of Shadow garnered critical praise and sold well enough. Of course they are going to let Mercury Steam make another one. Regardless of what you might think about the game it’s still a success. And “Fuck this company”? Really? Konami has been better to Castlevania than most publishers are willing to be their long running series (Poor Megaman). Be patient. We’ll get another 2D Castlevania. That style isn’t going anywhere.
Metroidvania’s need a long break imo.
I bought lords of shadow a little while back. Its not very good. I mean, its a competent God of War clone, and the environments are pretty enough, but all the action seems canned and all the platforming feels like lip service.
Reading that castlevania wiki made me want to play circle of the moon again, so I bought it off ebay for 12 bucks. 2 dollars more than what I paid for LOS, but I think it will be worth it.

But yeah just because reviews and people say “it’s good” doesn’t mean it has to be good with everyone else or me. Those could even be bought and payed for reviews as well. I assume you believe anything that’s said on the internet right? If the internet said good things about Lords Of Shadow it must be true. And I’m sure sales figures for the game posted on the net are 200% accurate too right?
All things considering, the Castlevania franchise is in a better place than some of Konami’s other IPs… Rest in peace, Silent Hill franchise. That series is dead to me now.
Anti-LoS: reviews and profit and accolades don’t make games good. See: Sonic CD, Smash Bros Brawl.
Pro-LoS: while heavily flawed, many of its criticisms fall flat when subjected to even slight scrutiny.
Ambiguous-LoS: I wanted Gabriel as a character in Harmony of Despair.
WTF-LoS: I wish Lords of Shadow took place in a fantasy realm not loosely based on 10th Century Europe.

I don’t have a problem with critics of LoS. Only thing I do have a problem with is treating the game like it was any less of a success than it actually was.
And I don’t need to see sales figures at all to tell if a game sold enough for a sequel. Japanese developers are not ones to waste time on Western developer a second time around if the first attempt was a bust. Clearly LoS was not a bust because we are getting a sequel to it. Nothing to argue about there Tien. Seriously.

In Castlevania HD can you even get other Martial Arts for Richter? I keep grinding and don’t get shit, since for some reason I decided to delete all my date so starting from scratch. Oh and if anyone wants to help me level up and get past the dumbass Puppet Master on XBLA it’d be welcome, just don’t use OP Alucard build since it makes things into Walkavania for me.
Alucard is weak Compared to Godma
Not as popular though, I think I was playing with Furry and a few other people here and it was like three Alucards with the retard sword and my Jonathan Morris just trotting a hair’s pace behind them.
