OMG I hate that puzzle…
So a little old school…
I’m replaying SotN, and I have 200% on my castle. Need that last .6% before I start glitching rooms…
I can’t find them… Take a look at my maps…

and the full maps from GFAQs
http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps/196885-castlevania-symphony-of-the-night/faqs/13134
All of my SOTN saves throughout versions(PS1, PSN and PSP saves) all are at like, 200.4-200.5%. I’m always missing 1-2 rooms but I was always too lazy to go compare maps and shit to find them.
My DoS is at a 100%, Portrait at a 1000% and OoE is at 200%. 100%'d LoS when I had it, too. Going farther back I have CotM at a 100% I believe, but my HoD/AoS double pack GBA cart is no where near a 200/100% completion.
You have to check every inch of every room, even if your maps are completely filled. Even the corners of the save rooms account for something, so you have to jump into the corners of those, too. I had to find this out the hard way.
okay so now that the DLC for castlevania HD is on offer, can anyone recommend which of the levels is the best one to go for, i have 200 spare points on my account so i can only get one of them and dont want to buy more points. can i get some opinions on them?
How do you account for speed runs where somebody just back-dashes into a save room really quick and bails out?
EDIT: Do breakable walls account for percentage?
Is SOTN playable on a MadCatz SE Stick? I wanna get it on XBLA (have some spare points) but I don’t wanna faff around with the 360 pad.
I don’t see why not. You don’t need the analog sticks.
Should work fine, I had no trouble playing through it with my Madcatz TE.
Speaking of Castlevania I hope we get a sequel announcement for Lords of Shadow and new one for 3DS and Vita.
I never did get around to buying or playing the Lords of Shadow DLC. On my to do list.
Don’t Specs…Don’t. Coming from someone who like LOS…Pass on that DLC bro. It’s not awful, but it’s not worth the price they’re charging either.
I hope not. I hope we get a good Castlevania. Not a GoW/SotC ripoff… I was not a fan of that game…
I liked LOS quite a bit but it needs a good deal of refinement. It’s not much like GOW at all tho, I dunno why people keep saying that lol. It’s actually got a better combat system then GOW honestly.
I felt like it was a boring version of GoW. The battle system wasn’t any better or worse, IMHO. I got up to the second titan, and I was like… NAY fuck this game.
The titans where straight ass no doubt, I agree completely, but you didn’t get far enough to expirence what the system actually has to offer.
I’m not saying go back an play it or anything, if you weren’t having fun then you weren’t having fun and that’s fine. I quit Demon’s Souls before finishing the first dungeon for the same reason so I feel you. Just saying you didn’t get far enough to see what the combat offers. At that point of the game, yea it’s a weak GOW style game. Later on it gets a lot better when the fights get intense and fast and you’ve unlocked a large number of the really sweet moves you can get, then it gets really good, then starts a slow and painful drop off into badhood again.
Really from Wygol, all the way through the castle is awesome awesome awesome and everything before that and after is a mix of good and bad.
Game needs refinement, and focus, a cutting of the fat. Also straight up removal of the Titans cuz they suck, all 3 of them are awful. I don’t blame you for quiting when you did because I almost did at that point myself.
There were only 3? I beat the second, and I thought the rest of the game was going to be like that. Well… Now I feel like ass for selling it… I still should have the save on my PS3…
But I do get to fight Death and the Bat and the other cool, classic Casltevania enemies, right…? right? because if not…
Ive been playing Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia a bit lately. I think im getting tired of these games. I have two other DS (maybe one is for GBA) Castlevania games and I never finished those as I couldnt get into them.
No joke, but Order, Aria (GBA), Portrait, Harmony (GBA), Circle, and Harmony are some of my favorite games ever… You can always sell them to me if you don’t want them.
Man the biggest disappointment of the game is the tease of a fight with Death and then not getting to fight him. Very mad about that. Last boss fight is a cool consolation tho. Well done and unique.
You get to fight Orlox and Brawner, Carmilla, a huge Wherewolf, and some others but nothing like Medusa or the Frankenstein Monster or anything like that. And guys like Orlox and Carmilla have their own twist to them that make them unique to Mercury Steams CV.
And yea only 3 Titans. Two at the beginning and one at the very end. One at the end while not great isn’t as bad as the first two.
I liked how much MS paid tribute to old CVs with tons and tons of throw backs but with their own twist to them, the return of the old level maps, and it wasn’t a fucking Metroidvania. So sick of those fucking games. I really got the feeling that MS adores CV.
